The Great Russian Offensive Force

I've been hearing about how Russia now has the offensive force needed to crush Ukraine, and how it's only a matter of time before they finish the war. This idea is being pushed by RFK and this spook, but I have no idea where it's coming from. Is it some Intel Slava Z shit or is it coming from an actual source? It seems as if Putin could end this war, he would've done so by now, but hey I'm not a "military expert".

You know how people keep saying the Ukrainian offensive hasn't started yet because we've only seen two of their eight nato-trained brigades in action?
The argument for Russia is similar but even more dramatic - Russia drafted a million men last fall and started an intensive training and outfitting program. In the months since then most (not all, but most) of the fighting has been done by Wagner, so those one million by now well trained Russian troops are still out there somewhere waiting for the opportunity and order to go. Unless you believe that Russia has lost a million men in the last few months, which I don't believe anybody has seriously claimed much less provided evidence for.

Only about 35k of the mobilized men were sent to reinforce the front, the rest of the men manning the front came from shortening the lines by leaving the right bank. Some of the mobilized were used as replacements for killed, but that still leaves over 900k men unaccounted for.

First I think Russia has lost this war however I do understand they have 50,000-100,000 men somewhere to the east of kharkiv. I can't see how they have any decent vehicles, artillery or armour though so as an offensive for they would just be a pointless meat tsunami. I guess they are using them to hold the flank of their main defensive line and as replacements for the front lines.

      >so those one million by now well trained Russian troops
VatBlack person vomit right there. Russia had 280,000 in its ground forces, 190,000 in its invasion forces. They are all dead. Russia after a further 400,000. They are all maimed. Russia summoned its naval infantry and airborne and got them massacred and everything it had and another 140000 and the left overs of everything and these 50-100K are what they have left. That's why they just tried to mobilise another half a million but this time also under 18s and over 60s. Well trained? You are having a laugh. All the Russian training battalions were sent to the front with their equipment and lost last year. There is no million well trained Russian anything. There are mainly mobiks, in bad condition with bad equipment and a very very thin spread of professional military survivors . Its ogre. The Russians did nto mobilise a half million just for shits and giggles. They had too.

Times Radio (UK Newspaper youtube channel). I thought the commentator smelt a little vatBlack persony and he was pimping 150K but digging around in my own way I am going for 50-100 but its a good solid news source and there is definitely a meat cube of some large in that area but the quality is unknown and equipment has to be shit. Its not going to make a difference. I personally think the idea was to send it up the line if the flawed idea of a grand offensive happened but the Ukrainians are too smart for that shit and are wiping out Russian artillery instead. I personally feel that this is going to pull Belarus in soon too and that will turn into a conflict zone too. I can see a civil war shaping in Belarus as well after it is annexed. Russia has lost the war but the kremlin is very keen to kill as many Russians as possible loosing it. Russia is going to hit a wall on artillery losses soon enough. Then the front line troops are fricked. Imagine having butterfly mines and cluster munitions all over your trench dumped there at night

Can't be bothered. So far my predictions have played out well in this war so I don;lt need my brain polluted with that noise. I got as far as him saying that he had said half a million vatBlack folk would arrive this summer and closed it. They were dumping men into the line who were medically unfit 16 days after they were at draft offices in the 300K call up (actually 400,000K). Most of them are currently in the trenches (the ones that are still alive + preceeding dregs) The meatcube of kharkiv I think is mainly the 139,000 spring intake. The Rissians have taken huge casualties and have huge humers of POWs and deserters and maimed. Their lines are fairly thin so they probably moved some of the best of the 139K forward as blocking forces for the retreat they pulled after the dam got blown. There is no way there is 159K there, there is no way they have decent armour or artillery or logistics or are capable of any kind of mechanised offensive. Its a lump of fresh conscript mobiks of very lttle value.

they do have the capacity in terms of dumb bombs and strategic bombers.
however, they could only ever deploy this capacity in a fantasy land where ukraine doesn't have any air defenses, which they do.

if russia tried to flatten ukraine, it would flatten it's own strategic bomber fleet instead.

they're already running as much artillery and activating as many old artillery pieces as they physically can currently.
what you're seeing right now is russian arty at the best of their abilities, and their average number of shells fired per day continues to go down.
ukraine switching from targeting armored vehicles to hunting russian tube artillery and MLRS with counter-battery is making this issue even more difficult.

                >they have thousands of grads parked somewhere in siberia.
Genuine question here: consider first the engineering and build standards that go into an MBT, and then think of all those fleets of Russian tanks we've seen left to rust and rot in so many depots, thousands of them barely good for spare parts. How well would a BM-21 or its truck chassis hold up under similar conditions?
I don't doubt that the Soviets produced tens of thousands of Grad launch vehicles over the past 60 years, but I have serious questions about how many of them are still even theoretically usable.

      Did they?
Picrel is a glimpse of one site from the initial buildup, months prior to Putin's 2022 sneak attack. This was, of course, only one camp of dozens, likely over a hundred, needed to house all 190,000 men of the initial invasion. Each Russian 5x8 meter tent sleeps 25 mobiks give or take, so about a platoon's worth.
All the satellite photos I've seen since then show a decrease in tents at the sites prior to the invasion, not the fivefold increase that would be needed to scale up to 1,000,000.
      >those one million by now well trained Russian troops are still out there somewhere

150k strong undeployed reserve force (waiting in case of nato shenanigans) according to Shoigu. Thats only from enlistements, russian soldiers earn about 200k rubles which is about as much as engineer or doctor so the draw here is obvious.
Initial mobilization was around 350k bodies, no further mobilisations are planned as of now, enlistements are enough to fill the ranks and more.
Conscripts are not permitted to take part in SMO (in fact some finding themselves in march on Kiev was a huge frickup Putin had to apologize for)
Using larger force on modern battlefield than what is already deployed by russia is unwise as modern precise weapons will frick up large formations. Everything according to Gerasimovs doctrine.
Russians consistantly deploy enough forces required to hold a given length of frontline and rotate troops constantly. In fact shortening frontlines to continue the operation with sufficent artillery and AA coverage was a major part of the first year.

Currently in Zaporozhe direction russian and ukrainian numbers are more or less equel. Which only shows how moronic the counteroffensive is, attacking fortification of the enemy with equel numbers, no airforce, huge artillery disparity favoring defenders...

Anon, people have been constantly promising some variant of "the real Russian Army" will swoop in and defeat Ukraine since Feb 23, 2023 and every time it has been bullshit.
At first it was the glorious Spetnaz T-14's and Su-57's would swoop after the weak troops soften them up cope which is so far from how an invasion actually works that I think they though video game logic was real...
In Autumn it switched to the promise of a glorious Russian meatwave which would sweep Ukraine but ignores a couple of important truths. First off it is artillery not small arms that cause the vast majority of casualties and second is that Russia does not have the armor and heavy equipment to support a massive increase in the army. It will just be sending a bunch of guys with AK's to die in fields.
This war will reach a tipping point where one side runs out of guns or shells and then it is legitimately over, all the meat in world won't stop that army.

Even video games punish you for letting your opponent farm weak units

Remember 1st Guard Army? The one that was already decimated earlier during the war? So yeah, it's basically them, except their pre-war contract soldiers got replaced by higher-quality mobiks.

This war is honestly turning into a stereotypical West vs some third world shithole confrontation, it's probably going to end with a KIA ratio approximating 1:10 in favor of Ukrainians.

The Russians and third worlders certainly and intentionally, in to the memory hole it goes but a surprising number of westerners did as well. The reason I think is that despite us coming to terms with the fact that picrel was never real, the Russian reality is in such a freefall that their reputation just can't possibly keep up it with it. Failure has become background noise.

If New York (Ukraine) becomes threatened by a Russian advance we should send in the Airborne. Why? Because it’s about image and the world is all about image and messages. Like, would Superman ever let a kid wearing his S shield die? I mean, he wouldn’t regardless of the shirt but it’d be a higher moral priority.

Douglas MacGregor isn't a "military expert", he's a moronic Russian shill. He's sad and bitter that he got passed over for promotion in the US Army and his ideas for force restructuring were entirely rejected, hence why he became a Russian Shill.

He's been predicting the Ukrainian Army will collapse imminently literally since the start of the war, and he makes that "prediction" literally every single fricking week. Not "inevitably" collapse, he predicts literally every single week it's going to happen in the next few days. He even predicted it in early September, when the Russian Army was getting absolutely fricking thrashed in Kharkiv and suffered a defeat so humiliating they drafted hundreds of thousands of fat old men to cope. That's on par with dropping a ball, and predicting while it's halfway to the ground that it's going to hit the ceiling.

You'll notice that a lot of the ex-military officers who shill for Russia on the internet are MASSIVE losers whose careers didn't go anywhere. MacGregor, Scott Ritter (a former Marine intelligence officer who is on the sex offender registry because he cannot stop trying to solicit sex from children on the internet), and that fricking weeb Armchair Warlord. Russia simping is just bitter projection by the incompetent that "bAsEd" Russia is going to take the West down a peg for them.

      >Douglas MacGregor
isn't he the guy that argued the army was completely outmatched and that we should switch to his recon strike group shit?

Yes. The Army more or less ignored him and kept BCTs. Hence one of his butthurt grievances.

Shilling for Russia's "mOdErNiZaTiOn" and the battalion tactical group concept (which had some overlap with his idea) is where he made his start. It only escalated when the war in Ukraine started.

I will say there is an extra delicious irony that the Russian army has moved away from BTGs as well; moving to brigades as the central operational unit as BTGs failed to make significant headway in Ukraine. There's an extra humiliation that not only was he ignored, he was also demonstrably wrong.
