The forward assist is one of the most useless thing. I can't count on on one hand how many times a charging handle can do what a forward assist do.

A standard AR charging handle isn't attached to the bolt. It can only hook it and pull it back. The forward assist is the only way to lock the bolt if it fails to fully rotate into battery without racking it again.
Useless on a side-charging AR, but a nice little feature for a standard one.
That said, if your gun isn't locking up from a bolt drop or firing cycle, you have a parts issue or an excessively dirty gun. A properly built and maintained rifle will never need a forward assist, but it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
Oh, and frick ya mudda
>A properly built
*A properly milspec
Bolt drop has significantly less bolt velocity than standard cycling. It is not surprising if the gun fails to go into battery after mag change even if it works totally fine in the subsequent shots after you've used the forward assist to fully chamber the first round.
Yes but it also does no harm. You'd basically need to hammer on the FA hard enough to mangle brass to actually cause a problem and in the few cases the bolt is just slightly out of battery the FA can fix it pretty easily.
Yeah but wtf is the detent for your takedown pin doing sticking out the back or your receiver and did you seriously buy a lower with a fake 3rd pin?
it's airshit
I've used it. It was handy.
Everyone that thinks the FA is useless needs to shoot more
FA uppers look better
simple as
>Don't like forward assists
>C7 upper too aesthetic to care
IKTF
if kevin said he don't need no forward assist nor a dust cover then he is 100% definitely right!
The AR charging handle is some moronic design that doesn't press forward and shits gas directly up your nostrils through the blood-brain barrier. The forward assist is necessary since you can't push the BCG forward in case of short stroke or minor fouling causing the round not to seat fully. It was added and kept as a requirement for a reason and you're moronic when it comes to basic engineering if you can't see that. Just ditch finicky ass ARs and don't worry about it.
>can't count on on one hand how many times a charging handle can do what a forward assist do.
ITT: OP never went hunting with an AR10/15
Saved Kyle. Killed Pedos. Cope and seethe
i use the forward assist almost every mag
But what button will I push when I get figgity
okay noguns
keep canned air and a flathead on your person at all times.
can always suppress the target with your second or third rifle, and use your tongue to clear debris.
include reps and sets of high intensity licks in your daily routine. after 3 months, you'll be ready to lick the rust off a bumper.
lock it back, lick, pick at it with screwdiver, nail that b***h with some canned air and send it home

Frick ya mudda
i'm gonna add a second one to my rifle just to piss you frickers off
