This, pretty much. I don't think Ukraine is going to do major daytime advances now they've got sweet thermals in the new tanks.

On top of that, it could be literally nothing - e.g. localized hyper-incompetence or even retreating to a more defensible position because Prigozhin and a few others have been whining about how the front will collapse as soon as Putin stops feeding it fresh bodies.

Came across a youtube clip last night that claimed the Ukies had recaptured Marfopil and Stepnivka, but there was no hard evidence of it presented and it didn't mention Reshetylivske or Mezhyrich.

you shouldn't trust your eyes either

May see anything with my eyes that would confirm any of these claims?

The more sober people who post war updates on Ukraine either haven't mentioned them or only claimed rumors with no hard evidence. At most they would have turned the named locations into part of the grey zone without occupying it themselves, if true.

Full of steppeBlack folk living in tents and pumping raw sewage into the same stream they get their drinking water in. Tarp facades have been hung over the few commieblocks that were merely ruined instead of demolished. Rubble still full of rotting corpses.

What happens following this invasion? Do we just let them begin wars of aggression indefinitely? Is the economic toll sufficient?

If Putin concedes and successfully sues for peace, then Russia is a pariah that has uneasy friendships with a few outlier states like Hungary, Brazil, China, India, etc.

If Ukraine liberates all of the country, or even just everything except Crimea, Putin dies a mysterious death and a short power struggle ensues in Moscow.

If the Russian Federation somehow persists the fallout from the way, I very much doubt they'll be able to chase a war of agression like this one for at least a decade or two.
It took them 8 years to invade Ukraine again after Crimea, they're not gonna be able to pull that off anytime soon with their manpower and equipment losses.

they're running out of non-NATO neighbors to invade, at least as far as neighbors the US cares about goes

This, they're slowly getting contained. The hilarious part is China is shoring up south central asia so that is now off limits

Georgia is probably next, but I honestly don't think they'll be able to do it post Ukraine. If we see the fricking Electric Boogaloo of this war in Georgia I'm gonna die laughing though

Georgia and Moldova are wasting time trying not to provoke Russia even as US intel is leaking that literally 97% of Russia's army is bogged down in Ukraine - either country could easily reclaim their Russian proxy land before Moscow could even react, yet they twiddle their thumbs
when the next SMO is declared on Georgia, they'll get no help and they'll deserve it

          >even as US intel is leaking that literally 97% of Russia's army is bogged down in Ukraine
The same rubbish that claims Ukraine only had 17k irr. casualties, because the Kyiv Independent only admitted that much, even though the new graves alone put it at 100-200k?
