That's true. If National Guard or Reservists get killed they've deleted a productive member of society vs active duty it's like some dredged up mouthbreather fishing for VA disability points that society won't really miss.
I’m waiting for the cost of living cope to come out. >got laid off? >can’t get a job? >can’t afford food or gas? >enlist today! >we will feed you and give you a place to live! >no rent! >free food! >no need to worry about your car! >got a graduate degree? >you will be a specialist as soon as you finish training! >you could even be a warrant officer someday! >see your local recruiters today!
Shit is getting weird.
Well, yeah, but I mean actively advertising to people with degrees to enlist. I’ve heard of people with graduate degrees enlisting and I cannot fathom why they would do it. With the economy tanking and younger employees starting to get laid off, I’m wondering how many desperate people will enlist to a life of misery around the fricking enlisted. The dumbest people on the face of the earth.
Meh, probably 50% of my platoon enlisted for economic reasons in 2010. Most of them were people who got fricked up by the 2007-2008 stuff and enlisting was part of their plan to reestablish an employment history, get some benefits, and kind of reset their lives that had been destroyed by the financial crisis.
Life isn't actually that bad when you've got a critical mass of people in that situation.

If you've got a CC/SC, and especially TS/SCI, you can get jobs being a janitor or cashier at a Starbucks in a top secret controlled access 3 letter agency and you're making $80k+/year without any college.
I wanted to as national guard so I didn't have to quit my career. The recruiters seemed to think I was an idiot. I didn't care about rank or money, I dont make tons of money but I don't need it.

They thought you were an idiot because you went to an Active Duty recruiter instead of a National Guard recruiter
Say what you will, but the military does offer a good deal for people who are suffering economically. Demoralization shills think lowering education standards is bad, but I think it is a wise choice because the American education system is garbage and a complete time waster. It's not like our near-peer rivals have high education requirements either. Just look at how fricking moronic the Russians are lol

You are talking about professional success, while I am talking about the sorry state of the American education system. Why are you trying to change the subject and shoehorning an attempt at bragging on an anonymous anime forum?
US education is not one thing, MIT is incredibly good and highly thought of in e.g. Europe , US public school is generally not highly thought of on its own, neither are things like associate degrees or GEDs or 'high school diplomas'. In General there are about 100 really good Universities in the world, 1000 that can be reasonably classed as universities and then 'everything else'. Most of these are in the USA and EU and most of the best ones are in the USA (although there are a lot of prestigious ones elsewhere, like e.g. Oxford or the Sorbonne). About 1% of 1% will attain a distinction in a postgraduate degree from a USA/EU/UK/Japan/SK tier university. Then there is just everything else. Interestingly this is about the same percentage that used get undergraduate degrees in the 1950s-1950s. In other words a distinction in a postgraduate degree in now the same as a a bachelors used to be.
>. Demoralization shills think lowering education standards is bad, but I think it is a wise choice
It is not wise. These qualifications are effectively worthless. See above. An associate degree from an American community college would be considered more a badge of moronation, same with colleges/universities etc outside the top 1000 in Europe offering pass degrees, worthless.
I do agree, but I also wonder if we actually need that many bodies in the military. There's a lot of make-work. Some people learn good skills that help them outside the military, so we get a good return on our money spent training and equipping them.
But a lot of guys are kind of just there. And they will say so themselves. At some point, it's actually cheaper for the taxpayer to just to give the poors money, to an extent.

these kinds of things get relaxed in cases of actual war. Correct me if I'm wrong but on paper the US military still has loot rights although it's heavily regulated.
If America wasn't unironically the great satan then the Army wouldn't be a bad choice for a lot of people.
You'll be poor and moronic but you'll at least be able to run around and shoot guns all day which is cool.
I'm a scout with a bachelor's and a 96 asvab. You don't need to be smart to be effective in the army. If they're setting the bar at 50 that's already well enough. I serve with men who have scores in the 30s and are just as effective combatants as me. Often, they're better soldiers, I'm always getting told I'm smart with no common sense, which is absolutely true. Dead average IQ is probably ideal for combat, you know it if you've seen it, they're just better at it but do struggle more with technical tasks.
It's actually a fantastic deal. It's a fast way to be an established adult, makes it harder for knuckleheads who can't get there to wreck themselves and the bennies are virtually unparalleled
I took it and got a GT of 122. I'm not asking if that makes me a "super soldier mega genius" or whatever, but I am asking how desirable of a candidate that makes me. Is that going to give me a leg up on potential induction into the services or does it really not fricking matter. Like is it a gold star or something they'll take into serious consideration?
It matters for candidacy shit when you're in like schools, promo boards, OCS etc but the recruiters aren't picky so any passing score is the same to them. They might shill socom harder.
Not anymore. They're able to compile and view civilian medical history now, provided you were provided care in a healthcare system that is a part of the conglomerate. Goes back 7 years if I'm not mistaken.
They sure as shit aren't. My mystery bone infection would have gotten my ass tossed out the door, but here i am in going to my unit's AT next week as a 91B. It takes way too long for them to search through records of the roughly 100 people going through each day so they just say frick it and push you through as long as you don't say anything and aren't visibly crippled.
Talk to a recruiter. By military standards I’m a fricking cripple and three of the bastards still tried to get me to die for Israel this year. When I tell them I’ve got enough hardware in my arm to start my own Home Depot they tell me how easy it’ll be to get a waiver, it doesn’t even phase them.

You have to score above the minimum ASVAB score if you don't have a GED, 50 compared to like 31. So they're trying to pick up people that have no education but have at least decent prospects mentally.
Recruitment numbers are at an all time low and the Army is flinging things at the wall to see what it can do to plug the holes. This year you can actually extend your contract in as little as 3 month intervals for example; normally you can only extend an existing contract for 12 months at minimum.
the kind of person without a GED or diploma who are want to enlist aren't going to be vaccinated, and they're still requiring mandatory covid vaccines for ALL personnel, which means this will do nothing for them
They purged a lot of people over the jab mandates and plenty of others don't want to join because of that. Whoever is running this show is pretty fricking dumb.
You and everyone else says/said that. When push came to shove only 6 people got kicked out of my battalion of like 370 and that was high number compared to other battalions on Okinawa at least
6 smart people out of 370 is pretty good for the USMC

It was Recon unit so a bit higher on the standards. Though to add a little more to the context of how many people were getting kicked out because of the jab. I was like 4-5 months late to getting kicked because my appendix exploded and I couldn’t get medically cleared. Even though I was late to getting kicked out in two I was at seps at Lejeune I talked to 20 guys that were being separated because of that and when I left another 10 came in. A lot of people got kicked out for that shit

That's nice and everything but I'm afraid the stakes have been raised on this thread and unless you personally worked as a researcher on government cyber UFOs and have an undergraduate degree in probing that meets the new standard for research work, that of implausible undergraduate degrees (this news has caused quite a stir here, I am telling you, many in and out trays have sheets of paper in them) nothing you say is of any interest.

In between a undergraduate degree in cybersecurity and an undergraduate degree in organic chemistry. Why on earth can't people just make suit up about having degrees in computer science or chemistry why always the need to push the limit. Like at least you are stick with probing, you are not going for organic probing or cyber probing, just probling. Why are there so many people from India in a thread about US military educational qualifications anyway?
>What is the difference between the moon landings and an Indian undergraduate degree? >There is a chance the moon landings happened.
It was so bad that my unit wouldn't even discharge people unless they were just straight up a criminal. Even people who were flagged were offered reenlistment bonuses.

This is why they think they can toy with people however they like, frick them over, lower their pay/never raise it even if they're on time and do their job excellently. People don't deserve to be treated as cattle just because dumb Black folk like you exist.
I guess a guy from bumfrick, nowhere who graduated high school despite being terminally moronic thanks to his school not wanting to get in trouble with the state is good to go if he manages a 31. Just come out and say you’re looking for troublemakers who got expelled.
It says you need to meet MOS qualifications, so I have to guess they've got some specific slightly technical MOS that needs a lot of bodies trained for and they can't be morons.
It really only comes up when you’re being placed into a job or trying to attend military schools. Most jobs and schools will cap their GT requirement at 110. There may be some stuff with higher requirements that I’m unaware of but it’d be pretty MOS specific stuff.
I have a GT score of 113, I was able to basically pick any MOS I wanted (some have special requirements though) and go through training for it. I think SOF requires a GT score of 110+. You won't get anything fancy because of your score alone, but you'd be one of the smarter people in the area if you became a 91 series (mechanic).
Your scores are used to determine what jobs are your strong points, the score you get has to meet the minimum requirement for the job you want in order for you to be selected for it, plus there must be openings in that field when you enlist. Don't pick something with a high failure rate (like EOD), because you'll be reclassed to whatever the Army needs if/when you flunk out of the course.
Shit like that and ASVAB scores in general just show recruiters what you theoretically won’t be a complete waste of time to train in. Just because you get a high score doesn’t mean you’re nuke material for example, rather that you are more likely to be a nuke than someone with a rock painter 30 score. Its all just getting a general feel for what you’re like upstairs before contracts get signed. If you got a GT score of 122 then you basically can pick any job you want in the military. Doesn’t mean you’ll easily get it, needs of the (insert branch here) and all that, but you aren’t inherently barred from it either. IIRC if you get a good score you also get an enlistment bonus, but I could be wrong.
t. had a “high” score (can’t remember exactly but I know it was north of 80-85), couldn’t do 90% of jobs in the military anyways due to being colorblind as all frick but could still be a corpsman though
Lol, I got a GT of 150+ when the only practice I got was the practice test at the recruiting station. It's just a filter that's meaningless once you actually get into the military.
That's bullshit, I had the highest score in my 10th grade class with a 92. I wasn't super intelligent, but plenty of relatively smart people that went on to good colleges got upper 70's and mid 80s.
>but plenty of relatively smart people that went on to good colleges got upper 70's and mid
1st of all: the number is literally a percentile rank, so 70s-80s scorers are not dumb, by definition.
2nd: what year did you graduate? Uni admissions have been a race to the bottom, no longer selecting for intellect but for compliance. How many extra IQ points does "volunteering" correlate with? None, yet it's required for many Uni applications these days. If it was 1960 and you used "got into good colleges" as a mark of excellence, you'd be right. In 2022, you are wrong.
They're on a quota system and it's bad. During the early part of GWOT there were periods when recruiter suicides eclipsed all other MOS suicides, then combat deaths, then all forms of death in the army.
Since then it's been reformed a little. But when an NCO hits E6, unless they're lucky they will be voluntold to go to recruiter or drill sergeant school and do a term of the respective duty. A few shitbags jump at the chance to be recruiter because lol steak dinners and highschool pussy. But for most people it's not a choice.
>During the early part of GWOT there were periods when recruiter suicides eclipsed all other MOS suicides, then combat deaths, then all forms of death in the army.
Wait, no shit? Is there more I can read about this?
>they can't punish you or rate you poorly for not meeting quota >they can however make you stay until 8pm every weekday and spend all Saturday and Sunday in the office making cold calls to phone numbers >they will tell you that you are a failure for not pulling numbers like the station sitting in a ideal zip code and make your work-life balance into a work-work balance
Yeah, it's a fricking mystery why people will do anything to escape USAREC orders including alt-F4'ing out of life.
This happened to me lol. I guessed on the majority of the test because I didnt know what the asvab was. Then recrueters where asking for meetings. For a minute I was all proud until I realised I met minimum requirements. I guess its important to be humble.
I was unironically too smart for the Army. Took the Asvab for shits and giggles and they just wanted me to go into military intelligence and do god knows what shitty paperwork all day.
I doubt this. My weapons squad had 3 people with GT scores above 140. If you want to join to do a certain job they’re not going to argue with you.
Enlisted employment history has absolutely zero value in the private sector as a result of that. We don’t give a shit about enlisted work history when it comes to any sort of higher-level position including shift supervisors. We only look at officers. Obviously not all those people were college graduates. The most successful people used their first enlistment to become warrant officers, get DNR positions in the Midwest, or get into the FBI. The middle tier got a combination of disability payments + working a factory job and the lowest tier committed suicide or died due to alcoholism or drugs.
At the time I had been studying for Organic Chemistry finals so I'm used to fricked up logic. Really you can ace the ASVAB if you're capable of getting a Master's Degree in Science or Engineering.
If you think organic chemistry uses fricked up logic you’re an actual moron. There’s only a couple of names reactions that aren’t spelled out mechanically.
Same situation. I basically maxed out the technical part of the ASVAB and they wanted me to be a generator or refrigeration repairman. I said frick that I want to be Airborne Infantry. It was pretty cash.
>must score a 50 or higher on the ASVAB
So that's already smarter than a lot of HS grads. This is a big nothingburger. Wake me up when they drop the minimum to 30.
ASVAB compares your results to other takers, over 50 means you're in the top 50% of enlisted. So yes, a high school grad is more intelligent than most enlisted men, because people with GEDS can join.
You can get your ASVAB score waived for a lot of positions. No-one cares what your score is for military police for example, which is one of the most understaffed jobs.
I’m curious about the FY2022 thing. Is this an effort to fill an immediate shortfall in higher-IQ jobs? Maybe intel types, cyber security, etc, related to Ukraine? Not requiring high school would pick up kids who’re too smart for HS. The commoner would be filtered out by that ASVAB req.
Bro, 50 ain't high. If you look around online you will see plenty of people sharing scores of 70+, and when I scored 98 the recruiter didn't suggest it was anything special. The ASVAB is dead-easy to pass.
>A third of the palatini were barbarians
Yes, because they could be trusted. Late Antiquity Western Rome was a place of extreme intrigue and assassination was extremely common.
Historical ignorant detected. The Army was historically much less educated and many troops never wore shoes until they enlisted. The average troop doesn't need to be intelligent. That's why WWII personnel policies sent the smart ones to aviation etc and sent cannon fodder elsewhere.
Training designed for the target audience ensures troops can do what they exist to do. That's all that matters IRL. Leadership need to be somewhat intelligent. Cannon fodder not so much.
No, late roman tier is a civil war every three months or so as a general revolts, combined with the rise of strong individual land holders that bucked the control of the central government and kept their workers from leaving, combined with the Diocletian reforms reducing the amount of manpower that could be effectively called upon.
You're a moron, even roman sources consider falling recruitment standards to be a massive issue for late rome.
It was but this was mostly because high quality recruits instead tended to become mercenaries when possible, as it both payed better and meant they were less likely to end up at the center of a civil war.
>Soon all the enlisted will be immigrants, criminals, and the deranged
it already has been those. and women. you forgot women though you did have deranged criminals down.
Is a highschool diploma worth anything, and is there a lower degree than that?
And why do you go to college if you can go straight to University in the US from what i've read?
t. Europoor trying to understand >American education
High school diploma/GED lets you know that you're at least know basic high school stuff and met the requirements of passing core courses. Its the lowest degree since everybody can get it if you to highschool or take the test to get a GED. However, it can let you get more job opportunities than not having a degree/GED.
>always dreamed of serving in the military >tired to join after college, go the OCS route >pass everything, still get denied by USAREC >lol we want STEM bois, better luck next time >walk away pissed off and ready to move on with my life >give it a few months, get the familiar itch >start the process again, COVID hits >everything is shut down for 2 years >not many options for work where live, and rent increases + housing market makes moving a fool's errand >start talking to the military again >recruiter tells me he'll work with me as best he can, but the new genesis at MEPs is a cluster frick and takes months to get through >and retention is down across every branch from this, and they have an abundance of officers but barely any enlisted >rumors are OCS is all fricked now as well, the standards change with every class and people are failing at 50% and being forced into enlisted contracts >still have the burning passion to try, but at the risk of fricking my life up even worse than it already is
Im at a loss at what to do lads. Im not sure how the other branches are doing but maybe id stand a better chance with them?
Its not that cool dude. You'll be doing powerpoints and getting shit on by more senior officers. Get over it, this isnt world war 2 army where you're leading men in combat etc etc. Drop the Walter Mitty shit and just shoot, hike, practice skills on your own or with friends and family.
Im more or less doing that anyway, but being a never serve after years of wanting it is eating away at me. At least id have some opportunity to advance in the Army. Mr shekelburg at my job laughed in my face when I told him I have the intention of advancing in the company so I can get more money and benefits to survive
Similar situation, except I didn't enlist because they couldn't guarantee me OCS. I have two bachelor's degrees, one in cybersecurity and another in a CJ field along with a minor in CS. Done an internship and was research assistant on a govt cyber project. I was still told "We have a lot of guys with degrees who are enlisted, some with masters. Only way we'll send you to OCS is if there's a spot open and that'd be after a few years minimum". This was for a cyber warfare position which they apparently still didn't have the minimum number of men for after 4 months of spamming every university and recent graduate.
>two bachelor's degrees, one in cybersecurity
I find that very hard to believe. No real university would offer an undergraduate honours bachelors of science in a subject so narrow.
>CJ

The grammar is I did an internship. You don't have a degree in anything or if you do it is from the strong and soft but gentle wiping variety.

>Criminal justice is what CJ stands for and Cyber security is a wide field, he could be talking about netsec, etc.
No it is not. Why on earth would there be such a degree for undergraduates as opposed to computer science? This is the devaluating of education that was mentioned above. Funny how educational fantasists often raise topics from within information technology/computer science.
>Why would you have an undergraduate degree in 'criminal justice'
Its not law, its sociology camouflaged as something else because sociology is embarassing
You go to law school to study law, the UK does not require you go to law school to be a lawyer. That’s the main difference between US and UK education, amusingly enough.

You were a 'research assistant' on a government 'cyber project' with an undergraduate degree? Really? Answer honestly. Try. Do you lie a lot and do you even know why you do it?
Was in a similar position as you anon. When the coof hit I finally woke up and admitted to myself that I don't want to put my life on the line for this government that does not serve the people.
>When the coof hit I finally woke up and admitted to myself that I don't want to put my life on the line for this government that does not serve the people.
Yes here in my oblast I also considered that the government of the USA but also other NATO nations and those of the EU do not truly reflect the needs of the people in their aims, as did for example the USSR although via flawed economic propositions. The fall of the USSR really was one of the greatest disasters that mankind has experienced. Here in Montana oblast that is often commented on. Yes indeed the government does not serve the people so let us all break our oaths of duty in the military and perhaps undertake in a civil war. I have heard that civil wars are often very interesting. I must go now to make apple pie and sing an anthem. There is much to consider here, maybe everything we know is wrong and maybe it is the Russians who are right! Haha! That is a funny thought but still worth thinking about, especially if you do not like your superior or the majority elected political party.
>Unemployment is high, businesses are desperate for people
The unemployment rate is pretty low right now, hovering at 3.6%. We're pretty close to full employment so workers have a lot better options when looking for work and can be more selective. We're also seeing the boomers starting to retire so that also makes for a smaller workforce. This is called overemployment - there's more demand then there are workers to fill that demand.
Isn't that cause they use a sneaky way of counting it? As in you need to be unemployed AND need to have looked for a job in the last 2 weeks or something.
>still drug testing >still allowing women >still allowing "women"
Ngmi, nobody wants to join that shit, not even highschool dropouts, and people will real warrior spirit stopped joining because they desegregated, and then got woke
Literally everything in the Army revolves around FY shit. Let me put it this way, my supply SGT was a fricking beast at getting shit. The man once kept everyone in our sister companies busy on the phone with bullshit while he sent his requests the first minute he could get them in, just so he would be first in line.
Maybe they should raise the standards of living and life for those already in. Army leadership as a whole needs to take a real good look at itself and ask why the retention office is always empty and the line for the ETS brief is always around the corner. A few days off and a backpack doesn't make up for years of hating your life for $2 an hour.
Ooof even during the low point of GWOT the marines still required a waiver for GED from your congressman
I wouldn't recommend anyone join the amry or usmc right now. It's hell on earth during peacetime.
> The change follows another shift in policy this week when the service relaxed its tattoo rules, allowing potential recruits to enlist with tattoos on their hands and neck, which previously needed waivers.

The wars are over and without that draw people don't want to deal with Army bullshit. Retention is down across all services and recruiting is also down. Happened during the Iraq withdrawal to a lesser degree as well before the whole ISIS thing pumped it back up. I got out in January after 7 years and passed up a $50k bonus (for a 6 year extension). The only thing left is endless NTC/JRTC trips and an OPTEMPO that hasn't caught up to the fact that there isn't a war on. I wasn't going to do my 20, so this slowdown was the right time to leave. Most everyone I talked to in the TAP classes had the same story.
The ASVAB score is percentile based so above 50 literally means better than average. Who is honestly a better prospect? The guy who got the participation trophy that is a HS diploma and is dumber than over 2/3rds of the population, or the guy who for whatever reason didn't get it but is still sharper than half the people out there?
This is nothing like back in the surge where they would give an moron waiver to someone with a violent felony conviction and medical problems.
yeah dude like i said i already know its relatively low numbers. also anyone can retake the ASVAB and you should know better that scores don't mean jack shit. seriously 50? with recruiters helping those people out? fricking lol.
>This is nothing like back in the surge where they would give an moron waiver to someone with a violent felony conviction and medical problems.
Fricking lol, I remember the SSGT at meps mentioning waivers for felonies for violent crimes back in '05. If mu brain wasn't all fricked up they might have even taken me.
Its just like enlisting during the surge of 2007.
Except now there is no one to fight and the smart people know better than to enlist in Americas fabulous army.
I remember in highschool, back in 2011 as a senior the school army recruiter would pull me out of class and essentially bully me to sign up, and call my house to get me to join lmao. Glad I never joined.
Kind of evens out if you think about it. >literal morons who couldn’t even manage a high school degree (where the only requirement is having a pulse and showing up 1/4 of the time) enlist >no actual wars now so they get no actual combat experience >le civil war arrives >all the smart people start running for the hills because they can’t handle what its all turning into >all thats left are the walking amerimutt memes who can’t shoot for shit since standards have dropped so low >pretty much just mincemeat for all the guys with actual combat experience who absolutely hate what the US has turned into
Wishful thinking probably, but still.
Is this not normal? It's been this way in my country for years. To join the infantry you just need to pass a basic literacy, mathematics and basic problem solving test (can you read, count and know which shape goes in the circle shaped hole). You need no formal education.
IQ is what matters and education doesn't increase it. IQ is a hurdle requirement for education.
Basically if someone has a high enough IQ you'll be able to teach them whatever they need to know. Education is just a non-eugenicist way of proving IQ that doesn't hurt the feelings of moralgays.
Never met anyone with a score below 60 that wasn't visibly moronic.
>Meet guy that got waivered in with a 39 >Calls himself G MONEY out loud >Looks like alcohol fetal syndrome fricked a pizza in a trailer park >Marries a fat older prostitute >Still doesn't get laid >Apparently walked naked and drunk to the PX before trying to run from cops to the MWR >Breaks his back after falling off an LMTV and gets medically retired >Who's the moron now.jpeg
The military can't get enough recruits and can't retain enough people and with shit going sideways in Russia and China they are trying everything they can to get enough people in, but that pesky DoD won't help!
>join the army to defend LGBT troony homosexual rights and Israel. we will you pay 10 shekels and artificial arm for when you get dismembered!
Unless they solve the root problem they're going to have lower and lower enlist numbers
Well they're not sending the Nasty Girls full of engineers and useful people into Ukraine.
That's true. If National Guard or Reservists get killed they've deleted a productive member of society vs active duty it's like some dredged up mouthbreather fishing for VA disability points that society won't really miss.
nasty grils?
National Guard
Isn't it similar to how GED's work? You take a test to prove you're at least literate enough to be high school level.
They're foregoing the requirement all together since no one wants to enlist anymore
They've been shilling pog jobs and 'careers' and money for college for like 20 years.
Enlisted employment history has absolutely zero value in the private sector as a result of that. We don’t give a shit about enlisted work history when it comes to any sort of higher-level position including shift supervisors. We only look at officers. We will give preference to veterans for all the benefits we get from the federal government for hiring them, but enlisted don’t really get preference for anything beyond hourly shift work. I’m in O&G now, but maybe it’s different in other industries.
>I wanted to as national guard so I didn't have to quit my career. The recruiters seemed to think I was an idiot.
Just look at how fricking moronic the Russians are lol
>because the American education system is garbage and a complete time waster
sounds like you're one of these worthless discards.
What do you mean by "worthless discards"?
only morons go through the education system and complain about it. Not our problem you're too dumb to make money.
So smart people love the American education system? Can you cite your source?
my household income is 310k a year and my career path starting with getting a fricking engineering degree from a non-shit university in the states.
You are talking about professional success, while I am talking about the sorry state of the American education system. Why are you trying to change the subject and shoehorning an attempt at bragging on an anonymous anime forum?
Post guns
I fail to see the connection between being globohomosexual cannon fodder and a good deal.
To be cannon fodder, somebody has to be shooting at you. It's peacetime, in case your handlers forgot to tell you.
>Do you want to fight against racism, misogyny and white privilege ? Do you want to fight for a united and peaceful world ? Do you want to get out of the pod for a while ? Do you want to fight for the right to vaccinate every single human on earth ? Do you like corn syrup, s o y and bugs ? Enlist now and receive a free iPhone XX after the end of boot camp (limited offer) !
I mean, you laugh but for thousands of years, the only pay soldiers got was three meals a day and a place to sleep.
Actual coinage was what you pillaged from burning and looting villages, farms and cities.
In some ways, I kind of wish troops were allowed to raid.
In the US military, they loose their shit if you buy a knife from rhe locals and try to ship it home.
>In the US military, they loose their shit if you buy a knife from rhe locals and try to ship it home.
these kinds of things get relaxed in cases of actual war. Correct me if I'm wrong but on paper the US military still has loot rights although it's heavily regulated.
> for thousands of years, the only pay soldiers got was three meals a day and a place to sleep.
lmao what the frick are you talking about
>Shit is getting weird.
no it isn't zoomer, this shit happens a lot
If America wasn't unironically the great satan then the Army wouldn't be a bad choice for a lot of people.
You'll be poor and moronic but you'll at least be able to run around and shoot guns all day which is cool.
>getting weird
That's literally the appeal of the military to everyone outside of your Trombley types.
It matters for candidacy shit when you're in like schools, promo boards, OCS etc but the recruiters aren't picky so any passing score is the same to them. They might shill socom harder.
Well, they are still requiring people to pass the ASVAB test with a 50%. So not like you're getting a couple of illiterates.
>Well, they are still requiring people to pass the ASVAB test with a 50%. So not like you're getting a couple of illiterates.
ASVAB has waivers. On God, I had buddy who got like a 30% on the ASVAB, they waivered him, and he did a tour in Iraq a year later
ASVAB can be completely handwaived away at a moments notice, if the military so chooses
If they're still drug testing this will net them zero new recruits.
I still can't join because my medical history disqualifies me.
I can't, either (schizoaffective disorder), and they can't conscript me either if it comes to that.
lying about medical history= GOOD
lying about criminal history= BAD
Not anymore. They're able to compile and view civilian medical history now, provided you were provided care in a healthcare system that is a part of the conglomerate. Goes back 7 years if I'm not mistaken.
They sure as shit aren't. My mystery bone infection would have gotten my ass tossed out the door, but here i am in going to my unit's AT next week as a 91B. It takes way too long for them to search through records of the roughly 100 people going through each day so they just say frick it and push you through as long as you don't say anything and aren't visibly crippled.
Just lie lmao. Asthmatic? Not anymore you're not. Those lungs are army issue and the army does not make mistakes.
>Source of manpower in years past was mostly patriotic young white men
>Spend the last 10 years shitting all over the true believers while trying to replace them with brownoid-seeking gibs
>Newer generation from previously pro-military families believe the political structure in Washington isn't worth fighting for
WTF where did all of our recruits go
>go to /misc/
>Become delusional schizophrenic to fit in
>Go to /k/
>Spout delusional schizohrenia
>Don't fit in
What do
You are stupid
Ass mad /misc/tards are ass mad.
Lol you're coping Black person, I left ROTC after 1 year because the woke shit was getting so bad our BC gave our enlisted support guys a lecture about using the name "Indian runs" during PT
>be a homosexual
>go to PrepHole anyway
>gay up the whole place instead of staying in the containment board
Why are you like this? Back to
with you.
t. buttmad and triggered tourist
I didn’t choose schizophrenia, schizophrenia chose me.
Do you work for some overfunded gov agency or are you just stupid?
I wonder how many neocon boomers like this are on /k/.
t. Black person recruiter
stfu russian shill
Rent free
bump
Tip, you are the one shitting on 'true believers'
You have been PSYOP'd, gg
You have to score above the minimum ASVAB score if you don't have a GED, 50 compared to like 31. So they're trying to pick up people that have no education but have at least decent prospects mentally.
Recruitment numbers are at an all time low and the Army is flinging things at the wall to see what it can do to plug the holes. This year you can actually extend your contract in as little as 3 month intervals for example; normally you can only extend an existing contract for 12 months at minimum.
50 on the AVSAB isn't hard. I got a 69 when I knew frick all math beyond multplication
the kind of person without a GED or diploma who are want to enlist aren't going to be vaccinated, and they're still requiring mandatory covid vaccines for ALL personnel, which means this will do nothing for them
They purged a lot of people over the jab mandates and plenty of others don't want to join because of that. Whoever is running this show is pretty fricking dumb.
If I was lower enlisted and was sick of being in the suck, the "get out free" vax card would be a godsend.
A lot of people got kicked out for that shit
>in two I was at seps at Lejeune
In the two weeks I was at seps*. I’m smoking outside
Where does a self-educated prober stand on that list? Asking for a friend
>Where does a self-educated prober stand on that list?
>Anon why won't you go to the board?
You morons spent the last 8 months going lol get fricked, i'm in sfltap frick you
>That's it Mr., you're barred! HAH!
I would literally die before reenlisting
>Wut?... But... I barred you... this is where you cave...?
and here I am a year later not barred, getting calls from recruiters
They should drop the vaccine mandate
Why? They pump you full of so many vaccines, one more isn't gonna make you any more moronic.
Because the covid vaccine is useless and the decision to mandate it for the military was moronic and entirely political
the fricking flu vaccine is mandatory every year. you're a pincushion by the end of the first week of whatever you do.
I don't want to go along with anymore moronic covid homosexualry and neither do a lot of young men. The military can enjoy the consequences of choosing to try to perpetuate it.
>military wants to keep soldiers from getting sick
>that’s homosexual and gay and I don’t like it wah wah wah
Frick off
You're such a homosexual lol. Maybe you should have a nice day?
because we all know the military has no history of prescribing dangerous 'medical treatments' to soldiers without thorough safety evaluation beforehand
drugs aren't real
>bromide is a fake chemical
>anthrax vaccine was totally safe and effective
>gulf war never happened and there is no syndrome related to it
etc. etc.
>I trust them unconditionally bro
This is why they think they can toy with people however they like, frick them over, lower their pay/never raise it even if they're on time and do their job excellently. People don't deserve to be treated as cattle just because dumb Black folk like you exist.
t. homosexual and gay wah wah wah
Yep.
You do realize in the military you’re going to get jabbed like 8 times with different shit in just the first week of basic?
You do realize that's not what it's about right?
>one more isn't gonna make you any more moronic.
So how much do they pay you?
Anyone can see the adverse reactions of this vaccine in specific.
Ignore those Seether's.
>american education
Top Fun wasn’t enough to increase enlistment?
Top Gun is Navy. We'll see what happens to their enlistment.
> ASVAB over 50
Well they're not taking morons.
Less than a 70 means you’re moronic
That's IQ.
ASVAB score is a percentile against all other test takers, a 50 means you have to beat half of the people taking the test.
True, but it also could be for people who dropped out of school for various reasons rather than being a moron that got expelled
It really only comes up when you’re being placed into a job or trying to attend military schools. Most jobs and schools will cap their GT requirement at 110. There may be some stuff with higher requirements that I’m unaware of but it’d be pretty MOS specific stuff.
Other than that nobody gives a shit.
Any job you want, E-1 pay, starting.
It's just a filter that's meaningless once you actually get into the military.
i did not know that.
I guess that's why they were on my dick so hard for getting a 100.
>I thought a 100 was bad
You physically can not get a 100 you moron.
>I guess that's why they were on my dick so hard for getting a 100.
>100
You are one stupid motherfricker.
>getting a 100
if you score under 90 on the ASVAB you're kinda dumb. if you score under 50 you literally have an extra chromsome
That's bullshit, I had the highest score in my 10th grade class with a 92. I wasn't super intelligent, but plenty of relatively smart people that went on to good colleges got upper 70's and mid 80s.
>relatively smart
>good colleges
What race were they and define “good colleges” for me
>but plenty of relatively smart people that went on to good colleges got upper 70's and mid
I got an 89 and skipped the last 2 pages or so because i had to go to the bathroom.
I got an 89 but they rejected me because I had a GED.
if you don't lie about your asvab score you're kind dumb. nobody checks
LMFAO
I always wondered about recruiters, do they start out as scum are they forced to try morons, or do they burn out and just want to meet a quota?
I'm guessing it's a case by case of the above 3.
Is there more I can read about this?
>they can't punish you or rate you poorly for not meeting quota
>they can however make you stay until 8pm every weekday and spend all Saturday and Sunday in the office making cold calls to phone numbers
>they will tell you that you are a failure for not pulling numbers like the station sitting in a ideal zip code and make your work-life balance into a work-work balance
Yeah, it's a fricking mystery why people will do anything to escape USAREC orders including alt-F4'ing out of life.
>recruiter suicides
>its bad
come on now...
This happened to me lol. I guessed on the majority of the test because I didnt know what the asvab was. Then recrueters where asking for meetings. For a minute I was all proud until I realised I met minimum requirements. I guess its important to be humble.
>must be 18 at time of enlistment
That specification alone is going to torpedo this plan pretty hard.
It's all you need to drive a truck and find IEDs
>only moronic shitskins join the military
So nothing has changed
I was unironically too smart for the Army. Took the Asvab for shits and giggles and they just wanted me to go into military intelligence and do god knows what shitty paperwork all day.
I doubt this. My weapons squad had 3 people with GT scores above 140. If you want to join to do a certain job they’re not going to argue with you.
You can ace the asvab if you're moderately intelligent and read a book on algebra.
True, its not meant for eggheads but a general population.
It's meant for everyone. Look up what the ASVAB measures and it is not one score. You'll get many when you take it.
McNamara's Morons 2.0.
>must score a 50 or higher on the ASVAB
So that's already smarter than a lot of HS grads. This is a big nothingburger. Wake me up when they drop the minimum to 30.
NOTHING BURGER!!!
没有肉!!!
If 50 is smarter than the average high school grad then I'm greatly disturbed
ASVAB compares your results to other takers, over 50 means you're in the top 50% of enlisted. So yes, a high school grad is more intelligent than most enlisted men, because people with GEDS can join.
You can get your ASVAB score waived for a lot of positions. No-one cares what your score is for military police for example, which is one of the most understaffed jobs.
I can't find a single source proving the validity of this image
Try the official Facebook page for the US Army. It is real.
https://www.military.com/daily-news/2022/06/24/army-drops-requirement-high-school-diploma-amid-recruiting-crisis.html
Now go enlist. You sound like just the type the Nu Army is looking for.
Why do people act like enlisting solely for a steady paycheck and retirement benefits hasn't been a thing since at least the fricking Romans?
chinese soldiers don't learn to use firearms
I’m curious about the FY2022 thing. Is this an effort to fill an immediate shortfall in higher-IQ jobs? Maybe intel types, cyber security, etc, related to Ukraine? Not requiring high school would pick up kids who’re too smart for HS. The commoner would be filtered out by that ASVAB req.
No, the objective is to fill less-desirable roles in the Army, of which there are many.
Why the high ASVAB req then?
>50
>high
what did he mean by this?
Bro, 50 ain't high. If you look around online you will see plenty of people sharing scores of 70+, and when I scored 98 the recruiter didn't suggest it was anything special. The ASVAB is dead-easy to pass.
But the army used to have a minimum of 35 with at least a GED
It looks like they have determined that raising the ASVAB score requirement does not negatively impact their quota.
this is late Roman empire tier. Soon all the enlisted will be immigrants, criminals, and the deranged
>this is late Roman empire tier.
you play civ and know nothing about history
A third of the Palatini were barbarians in Theodosius' time. Your bluff failed.
I learned that in college, I also had sex in college
>A third of the palatini were barbarians
Yes, because they could be trusted. Late Antiquity Western Rome was a place of extreme intrigue and assassination was extremely common.
Unlike modern America, which has none of those things!
You're a moron, even roman sources consider falling recruitment standards to be a massive issue for late rome.
>this is late Roman empire tier.
>The Army was historically much less educated and many troops never wore shoes until they enlisted.
Compared to who? The ruling nobility?
No, late roman tier is a civil war every three months or so as a general revolts, combined with the rise of strong individual land holders that bucked the control of the central government and kept their workers from leaving, combined with the Diocletian reforms reducing the amount of manpower that could be effectively called upon.
Which army has the highest iq reqs
>why won’t young white men sacrifice their lives and futures for a country that hates them?
gee idk Herschel
>all of this arguing ITT over a totally unsourced and unsubstantiated image
I can't find anything about this online.
I think we're just going to have to wait and see if it's legitimate. Pay attention to any US military news regarding this in the coming days/weeks.
I'd enlisted for citizenship, if they aren't desperate enough to take Canadians they aren't actually desperate
Taking Canadians wouldn’t be desperate. Taking a frick ton of Mexicans and Black folk is.
Cool, cool. Im still not getting the Fouci Ouchie. And last I checked, being a constituntionalist makes me a right wing über extremist by the Army.
Is a highschool diploma worth anything, and is there a lower degree than that?
And why do you go to college if you can go straight to University in the US from what i've read?
t. Europoor trying to understand
>American education
High school diploma/GED lets you know that you're at least know basic high school stuff and met the requirements of passing core courses. Its the lowest degree since everybody can get it if you to highschool or take the test to get a GED. However, it can let you get more job opportunities than not having a degree/GED.
A high school diploma signifies completion of secondary education. College is a colloquialism for university
>always dreamed of serving in the military
>tired to join after college, go the OCS route
>pass everything, still get denied by USAREC
>lol we want STEM bois, better luck next time
>walk away pissed off and ready to move on with my life
>give it a few months, get the familiar itch
>start the process again, COVID hits
>everything is shut down for 2 years
>not many options for work where live, and rent increases + housing market makes moving a fool's errand
>start talking to the military again
>recruiter tells me he'll work with me as best he can, but the new genesis at MEPs is a cluster frick and takes months to get through
>and retention is down across every branch from this, and they have an abundance of officers but barely any enlisted
>rumors are OCS is all fricked now as well, the standards change with every class and people are failing at 50% and being forced into enlisted contracts
>still have the burning passion to try, but at the risk of fricking my life up even worse than it already is
Im at a loss at what to do lads.
>CJ
No idea what you even mean by this
>Done an internship
The grammar is I did an internship. You don't have a degree in anything or if you do it is from the strong and soft but gentle wiping variety.
What institution do you claim these honours undergraduate degrees from again?
Criminal justice is what CJ stands for and Cyber security is a wide field, he could be talking about netsec, etc.
Why would you have an undergraduate degree in 'criminal justice' and not law? What university are these from again?
>Why would you have an undergraduate degree in 'criminal justice'
Its not law, its sociology camouflaged as something else because sociology is embarassing
You go to law school to study law, the UK does not require you go to law school to be a lawyer. That’s the main difference between US and UK education, amusingly enough.
California does not require law school either I believe. I think it’s the only state that operates in such a manner.
Most attorneys get a political science degree for an undergraduate. Criminal justice is a worthless degree for cops and other brain dead homosexuals.
>What institution do you claim these honours undergraduate degrees from again?
Anon's about to pull the "I went to MIT Harvard Special Combo Program, got a PHD in a single year, Was on the Dean's List, head of the Football Team, and fricked Every Cheerleader and Sorority Girl" Card as if he isn't posting on PrepHole during a Friday afternoon with the rest of us
The chip on your shoulder is crushing you. Go and PT your angst away, it is not your fault your mother was a drinker.
Learn to reply properly newbie, and stop typing like a PhD student on an obscure Mongolian Basket Weaving Forum. I used CJ as a general term because the name for the degree the university uses is fairly specific, but it is essentially forensic accounting and auditing. No one is going to give identifiable information on PrepHole if they have any real OPSEC, lurk moar.
>You don't have a degree in anything
> OPSEC
Wrong acronym, tard.
>and was research assistant on a govt cyber project
Haha! That is a funny thought but still worth thinking about, especially if you do not like your superior or the majority elected political party.
>being mad on the internet
Pills. Now.
Why do you Black folk do this? Nothing about this conversation even has anything to do with Russia.
>50 ASVAB
knuckle dragging morons then
makes sense. gives dropouts some structure to their life and an actual chance at a career.
Low unemployment rates means less people want to enlist, simple as that.
Unemployment is still high right now. Businesses are desperate for people
>Unemployment is high, businesses are desperate for people
The unemployment rate is pretty low right now, hovering at 3.6%.
As in you need to be unemployed AND need to have looked for a job in the last 2 weeks or something.
>still drug testing
>still allowing women
>still allowing "women"
Ngmi, nobody wants to join that shit, not even highschool dropouts, and people will real warrior spirit stopped joining because they desegregated, and then got woke
>Must ship during fiscal year 2022
wot, even the army talks about shit in terms of that?
Literally everything in the Army revolves around FY shit. Let me put it this way, my supply SGT was a fricking beast at getting shit. The man once kept everyone in our sister companies busy on the phone with bullshit while he sent his requests the first minute he could get them in, just so he would be first in line.
Nice.
also
>Q4's muslim kill numbers are way down Major Transtein, what can we do moving forward to fix this by the end of FY 2023?
War were declared.
Holy shit thank go I'm getting out, half the new guys were already on the spectrum I don't want to see the next wave.
Maybe they should raise the standards of living and life for those already in. Army leadership as a whole needs to take a real good look at itself and ask why the retention office is always empty and the line for the ETS brief is always around the corner. A few days off and a backpack doesn't make up for years of hating your life for $2 an hour.
Wasn't it always this was ? As long as a meh level ASVAB? Or did you need at least a GED?
Oh man. The standards were higher a decade ago when I was in and I was still surrounded by morons, frickups, and scum. This is gonna get bad.
Ooof even during the low point of GWOT the marines still required a waiver for GED from your congressman
I wouldn't recommend anyone join the amry or usmc right now. It's hell on earth during peacetime.
damn, they got the marine enlistment mixed up with the army!
On the topic of LPVOs, ACOGs and Elcans what happened to the Leupold HAMR? Why was it discontinued
> The change follows another shift in policy this week when the service relaxed its tattoo rules, allowing potential recruits to enlist with tattoos on their hands and neck, which previously needed waivers.
Enjoy working beside MS-13 members.
> soldiers now may have a single tattoo on the back of the neck that does not exceed two inches in all directions, as well as one tattoo behind each ear, so long as they don't exceed 1 inch in size or reach forward of the earlobe.
When I went to osut in 2016 there were already south americans who didnt speak english that were there to get training to become sicarios apparently. Like three dudes in my company fit that description
Anon gang members have always been in the military. As far back as the mafias heyday, probably further. It's a good way to get training and access to shit to steal. Those conexes full of abandoned equipment everyone in the .mil talks about don't come from nowhere.
Αrmatard sucks donkey dicks

same here, would be a pilot by now otherwise
>its the same dumbasses haha
>what you didnt know you had to get shots haha
>its like the same thing haha dont you get 4 boosters for tetanus a year ?
open the floodgates for uneducated welfAre queens
>why does no one want to kill and die in our goal to spread homosexualry while the israelites in charge hate us?
The army had always been the moron branch. Anyone with a brain joins the Marines.
The Marines have always been the moron branch. Anyone with a brain joins the Air Force.
Not interested in fighting for a pro LGBT CRT homosexual army.
Post your recruitment ads anons.
>this is the best anime Columbia they do
Not surprised, just disappointed
Idk why but I like it
They call the me the a Thunder Maker the at the work beans good
it was like this back in 06. Anyway, I imagine this is because they need replace those soldiers being discharge for not being vaxxed. I know it's relatively low numbers but its just a guess
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/national-guard-vaccine-mandate-deadline/
>it must be because of the covid schizo conspiracy I've sold my life too
Lamo. You're an idiot. There's a few dozen people per base that haven't caved on the vaccines.
Both my PSG and my squad leader got these waivers. One was manslaughter and the other one was assault with a deadly weapon. Good guys though.
If they did this 2 years ago I would have joined but now I have rods in my back
Its just like enlisting during the surge of 2007.
Except now there is no one to fight and the smart people know better than to enlist in Americas fabulous army.
I remember in highschool, back in 2011 as a senior the school army recruiter would pull me out of class and essentially bully me to sign up, and call my house to get me to join lmao. Glad I never joined.
Kind of evens out if you think about it.
>literal morons who couldn’t even manage a high school degree (where the only requirement is having a pulse and showing up 1/4 of the time) enlist
>no actual wars now so they get no actual combat experience
>le civil war arrives
>all the smart people start running for the hills because they can’t handle what its all turning into
>all thats left are the walking amerimutt memes who can’t shoot for shit since standards have dropped so low
>pretty much just mincemeat for all the guys with actual combat experience who absolutely hate what the US has turned into
Wishful thinking probably, but still.
this is just a made up image macro. there is no waiver. why would you come on PrepHole and tell lies
It's happening again!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_100,000
Imagine signing up to fight for the government that's facilitating an invasion
What an unintentionally wild cartoon
The USA needs to invade all of south america unironically.
No thanks.
Is this not normal? It's been this way in my country for years. To join the infantry you just need to pass a basic literacy, mathematics and basic problem solving test (can you read, count and know which shape goes in the circle shaped hole). You need no formal education.
We really are going for Malaise era 2.0 aren't we?
Thank God I didn’t reenlist last year. Thanks for the 90% disability rating taxpayers lmao
if they get rid of jab mandate i'll enlist
IQ is what matters and education doesn't increase it. IQ is a hurdle requirement for education.
Basically if someone has a high enough IQ you'll be able to teach them whatever they need to know. Education is just a non-eugenicist way of proving IQ that doesn't hurt the feelings of moralgays.
>50 on ASVAB
Never met anyone with a score below 60 that wasn't visibly moronic.
>Meet guy that got waivered in with a 39
>Calls himself G MONEY out loud
>Looks like alcohol fetal syndrome fricked a pizza in a trailer park
>Marries a fat older prostitute
>Still doesn't get laid
>Apparently walked naked and drunk to the PX before trying to run from cops to the MWR
>Breaks his back after falling off an LMTV and gets medically retired
>Who's the moron now.jpeg
its gonna be literally a all Black person and Hispanic army.
>vaxcuck policy
>smart people get the frick out
>lower education requirement to desperately scrape up any non moron vaxcucks who failed school
weird
The military can't get enough recruits and can't retain enough people and with shit going sideways in Russia and China they are trying everything they can to get enough people in, but that pesky DoD won't help!
>join the army to defend LGBT troony homosexual rights and Israel. we will you pay 10 shekels and artificial arm for when you get dismembered!
Unless they solve the root problem they're going to have lower and lower enlist numbers
