    >created national parks

yeah i love having to pass through entry gates and show my id or have to pay 20+ dollars to park.

Then I love being supervised on property and being checked regularly to ensure I have the proper permitting to be there.

Better than the not existing and the land being used for high-rise apartments.

        >not understanding that if it wasnt a park it would be suburbs

        are zoomers really this clueless?

These posters are ignored because they're right. Read about George Bird Grinnell, Michael Punke has an alright book about the history of the bison and the establishment of the Nat. Park service. Yellowstone especially was going to be pwned by railroads and would look vastly different today.

I'm not a zoomer you ninny. I been here since Puddi. Tell me, how does the boot taste that you LOVE licking?

MMM YES DADDY MORE REGULATIONS PLEASE

*fines you 150 dollars for camping without a permit*

I love paying 50 dollars to see a view! At least the road there is paved, right?

Why not pave wilderness trails while we are at it and add bridges at all stream crossings?

          >Public land must be restricted and policed or else developed

          no

It absolutely would have been developed without the national parks. USA invented the concept of natl parks. Sure the fees and lines and all that but the alternative would have been worse.

on one hand i dont like any of those things either, on the other hand the alternative would be you wouldnt have access to it because it was privately ownned or worse it wouldnt exist and would be a bunch of cookie cutter subdivisions

    >went bear hunting
    >one of his hunting companions trapped a bear somewhere in Mississippi
    >chained it to a tree
    >took Roosevelt to it so he could shoot it
    >Roosevelt said this is stupid; wouldn’t kill a chined animal
    >let it go instead
That’s why we have Teddy bears.

Great man, but shit president. Imperialist progressive who sewed the seeds of unchecked federal power and foreign adventurism. His whole platform was antithetical to liberty and lead directly to the inverse totalitarianism of today.

You speak the truth that no one wants to admit. He was a very cool dude but most of his actions as president would have modern republicans calling him a socialist commie dictator.

I would argue he was all over the political spectrum.

Where he really fricked up was that he stayed true to his word and didn't run for president again for some reason i forget. but had he ran he would have beat Wilson who gave us the federal reserve, the beginning of the israelitery.

You're misremembering. Roosevelt DID run in that election, but he ran as a third party because he didn't like Taft, he split their votes and cost Taft the election. Wilson became president because of Roosevelt's ego.

In his defense Teddy had a huge dick and deserved his big ego. Taft was responsible for the Titantic sinking

I worked at Harvard for a couple years and in the Barker Center they have a hugegantic chandelier made of durr antlers. This chandelier was originally in TR's hunting lodge and he giftted it to Harvard for safekeeping.

Over the decades numpties of one ilk or another have pointed to the chandelier as distasteful for their own reasons, but the University has scoffed and ignored all whinings and will keep the chandelier in place, as they will all the associated paintings and statues, for another hundred years or more.

Rumour has it TR shot the durr himself but this is not confirmed.

I'm honestly surprised it hasn't been cancel cultured and liberal moron students demanded it be taken down. On the bright side. I don't think a Harvard degree has the same pull it used to.

Fascinating guy. I liked reading about his misadventures running a ranch in the Dakotas. Hard to imagine a modern day POTUS weathering that kind of toil and hardship, let alone coming out the other side smiling.
