Technically you could make a 1911 slide as tall as you want, with minimal design concessions. I have created this advanced three dimensional rendering to further prove my point.

i don't know who you are but i hope you die tonight
At some point, the force of the blowback would not be able to overcome the weight of the slide, at least in typical handgun cartridges.
This is of course true, however I do not care and will continue to produce uncomfortably tall 1911 designs.
Also, just lighten the main spring if it gets that heavy, or put cutouts in the slide.
Straight Chad
So get a looser spring moron
Mount a side screen that displays ammo count but only uses a pedometer to keep track of rounds fired
>side screen
nahhhh, periscope
are you a pirate or something
>So get a looser spring moron
I feel like it's not that simple or someone would've done this by now for shits and giggles.
why is the barrel and firing pin at the top anon
why have you done this
Longer magazine with the same sized grip
are you telling me that you want to go to all this effort just to raise your barrel two inches higher
why, homosexual, why?!
because keeping an upright head position is critical in CQB environments.
if rifles have high-rise red dots, why can't my pistol be high-rise?
>fires ‘high rise’ pistol once
>recoil leverage immediately snaps wrist bone
So that the shells eject properly?
Looks like something from 40k or fallout
an interesting design
but consider the alternatives
A man after my own heart, or lack thereof
>conceal carry.png
violently frick that
clever but how will you famas
Do you mean burst fire, lever delay blowback, or surrender, because that all sounds slightly too French for today
>Fallout 5 concept art.jpg
Having a slide like that, the weight would make the gun a pain to use.
Plus it looks dumb.
what would you consider a "non-minimal" design concession anon
