Tavor 7 - Yay or Nay?

>be me
>enough AR's
>need a real battle rifle
>need a real battle cartridge
Have any of you had the chance to really beat the shit out of and abuse the Tavor 7?
Did it do ok?

This is the way I'm weighing things:
Pro: Bullpup's small form factor
Pro: .308/7.62mm
Pro: Swapable from Right to Left hand without the need for new parts
Pro: Non-reciprocating charging handle
Pro: Uses standard SR-25 mags
Pro: Available with 20" barrel
Pro: 4 pos. adjustable gas system
Pro: Cheaper than a SCAR-17

Con: 1:12 twist rate barrel - what the frick? Who's still using 147gr M80 ball?
Con: The buttpad is straight up/down, makes use with body armor awkward
Con: Bullpup's designs make it more difficult to clear stoppages, if not impossible
Con: Bullpup trigger
Con: Limited rail space/options

What do you guys think of the Tavor 7?

      def. not an IWI shill
I fricking hate my Galil ACE 5.56
trigger slap is the worst I've ever seen
      left handed use is laughable

        Are you a lefty?
If not then why do you care about left handed shooting? Don't tell me you practice swapping hands bahahahahahahaha

          Cross-eye dominant
aka right handed, left eye dominant
I've got about 15 years of training using a rifle left-handed, so there's no going back at this point.

This site does not have that much traffic. It's absolutely not worth an Israeli citizen's time to shill rifles on /k/. Instagram, YouTube, and magazines? Sure.

Not true at all, seems like at least half the thread owns an AR 308 of some sort too and a couple people have weird ass shit like the MDR and the new Bushmaster M17 in .308. Probably would get made fun of if he posts the Tavor though. Shit gun.

As someone who has looked into a Tavor 7 for this exact reason, I just couldn’t justify getting it because they apparently have abysmal accuracy

The intermediate caliber tavors are the innacurate ones, the Tavor 7 is and has always been a decently accurate rifle

        It’s a 3MOA rifle. That’s not the ammo’s fault.

        tavors aren't 7.62, dumbass

Just stop lying, literally anybody can Google it if they want to, its a 1.5-2 MOA rifle with quality ammo it likes. The 3 MOA one is the intermediate caliber version.

The OP is talking about the .308-using Tavor 7 though, that's a battle rifle cartridge. That's also the one you posted a picture of.

                .308 is an intermediate round.

The Tavor 7 specifically is 3 MOA.

better accuracy than an M1A, slightly worse than an AR10, in a more compact package. I just like it

I live in canada and this is one of the better options for a NR long term battle rifle I could have for life. Im also a lefty. Only thing making me hold back is the price and the mix of info I have heard about it. I shot it once as a kid, my buddies dad took us shooting and had one. Only shot like 2 mags and it was in right hand config, so I kinda had to shoot off hand, which I can do but still. Remember It being decent accurate and Once again there is a good aftermarket so I could continue upgrading for years as opposed to like a type 97 or type 81

One of my best range experiences comes from the left-hand interchangeability of the Tavor 7.
      >bring new Tavor to range
      >some guy asks me about it because he thinks it's cool
      >turns out it's his birthday
      >offer for him to shoot it
      >says he's left handed so the bullpup config won't work
      >NONSENSE
      >switch bolt to left hand in like 30 seconds
      >guy looks at me like I'm a magician
      10/10 breddy gud

I enjoy mine. I've put ~1500 rounds through it. More accurate than I am a shooter. The trigger really isn't that bad. The one shitty thing no one ever talks about is the holocaust every time you shoot it. It throws a frick load of gas directly into your face after every shot.

just like i told the other guy, if your going to invest in a meme you might as well just buy a scar 17 and get it over with

you wont need anything else forever

if your just some rogerberg shekelstein type please do me a favor and release the actual galil instead of the galil ace in 308

    thanks and go frick yourself

personally, i'd get an FAL or G3 type, even a SCAR17, they'll only appreciate in value if you ever grow out of your battle rifle phase
if you're bent on a bullpup i'd look at the RFB and MDRX
the Tavor would be my dead last pick just because i've handled one and frankly the trigger was terrible, it's 2.5-3 MOA at best and it feels cheap all over, plus the trigger guard is a nuisance for anyone with gloves on or big hands, it liked to slide around when i had gloves on and that was the most annoying thing for me
