Joe says what?
these are the only cordds leading out of the unit
pic related is unit in its entirety i took off ff the cover shield to look for damage any idea odf make and model
>is there something im misssing here?
yes, a clear description of what it is you are doing and what you have tried.
it appears from your post you have tried:
nothing.
at least he uploaded blurry pictures where we can't make out shit
there is that.
>is there something im misssing here?
yeah, it's called punctuation, you fricking tard.
It's an old coax unit. It's not ethernet-based. You plug it into a monitor with a coaxial input or you need a coax card in your PC.
try again OP maybe post make and model number actual unblurry photos of more than the top of the camera.
also this is nonsense.
>also this is nonsense.
You are wrong you pathetic ignoramus.
See the red cable that says "12V DC Only" on it? That means it wants 12V DC.
The yellow cable will output either an NTSC or a PAL signal just like the one you get from the TV mast to watch TV. You just plug it into your TV and it works.
>you plug it in to a coax card
show me a coax card, there is no such thing.
Analog video. Any old flat panel monitor or TV that has an analog video input, if you just want to view. There's also 7" screens just meant for 2 analog camera feeds. Those cost ~$15. Either monitor has RCA inputs, so you may have to change the yellow plug (video) out for an RCA Male or buy an adapter.
For actual security recording, I'd buy a refurb RLC-520A (dome) or 510A (bullet), or the wireless version 510WA for a little more $33/$44. They have a complete built-in NVR. 128g Samsung Pro Endurance microsd for $12. Amcrest has similar offerings.
Analog has the advantage of being instantaneous, but recording options suck. Digital is where you do recording but there is a delay. Use that camera for live back-up view on your old truck or motorhome or trailer, with a 7" monitor on the dash or one of those rear-view mirror monitor models.
I know it runs on 12 volt DC how do i fiure out the amperage?
Probably no more than 2 amps.
You plug it into a 12V supply and measure the amperage.
If you are using a constant current supply you are doing it wrong
plug a kill-o-watt into the wall or use a clamping dc ammeter.
jesus, did you just get here from reddit?
Is not wrong. Just plug it in before you concern yourself with whether it's 5 watts or 10. It's likely not even 1 amp at 12v DC. Literally any old 5.5mm x 2.1mm barrel plug power supply that's 12v with an outer negative, the most standard type you'll find laying around, will work.
I feel like we are trying to help a quadruple-boosted moron npc from reddit.
>is there something im misssing here?
a security cam is kinda useless without an analog recorder.
i picked up a few at the thrift store for less than $10.
typically, the HDD will be dead, but i have tons of old HDDs.
even a 2004 vintage 160G will record motion for several weeks.
some use RCA jacks, some BNC. so you may need a BNC to RCA adapter.
Here are some updates I'm trying to use a modem to convert coax to Ethernet signal and plug into my laptop
you're feeding a modulated composite video signal into a cable modem. congratulations, you're moronic
Shh, it's bait.
At least, that's the only way I can interpret this without losing the last shred of hope for our future.
that'll never work, but something like this will convert video to usb.
can probably get a used one cheap as most people have replaced them with HD capture gadgets.
i bought one of these thanks
>convert coax
there is no such format or protocol as "coax".
coax is a type of cable you dipshit.
You want a MoCA 2 media converter box.
This isn't a simple thing you van do with some wires. You need some electronics.
holy shit, you really are moronic.
Normally the downing is on

Holy shit I'm fricking dying
Capture Card, USB Video Capture Card Device, Audio Video Converter Grabber for RCA to USB-Convert VHS Mini DV VCR Hi8 DVD to Digital, for PC TV Tape Player Camcorder, MAC Windows Vista Compatible i bought this but i cant get it to pull up live feed
>i cant get it to pull up live feed
yeah, i have a similar one, and it's cheap chinese junk, with very bad driver software.
it can sorta work if you fight with it a lot.
that's why i recommended the Dazzle 9 days ago.
it's made in china but software is US made.
Dazzle have been around a while and your solution makes sense.
