sup, I punched a hole in my apartment bathroom door as I didn't know they broke this easily. how do I make this look normal as cheaply as possible? I'm a brainlet if that isn't self explanatory.

can I just throw some paint over this and call it a day?

honestly if you don't give a shit, just tape it real tight, caulk the edges to smooth it out and paint it. not what I would do but it should get you through your move out inspection at least.

what you do is get mesh screen, then scrape stucco over the meshtape, then re-paint.

It’s a cheap ass door, I would buy a whole new door at this rate, just trim it and stick the knob and hinges on there. Not sure how you patch those super thin cardboard doors but maybe somebody else will enlighten you.

Next time punch the drywall, it might be an easier fix and you can git gud at drywall like a Mexican on stilts.

        >I'm not buying a fricking door
Until you move out and they take it out of your deposit.
You're going to pay for the door either way, might as well leave the replacement's installation to the maintenance guy after you move out.

    >fill with foam
    >sand
    >some wood putty
    >paint
    >done

seconding. these hollow core doors patch nearly the same as drywall. just cram shit in the hole so you can lay a sandable filler into the hole, then sand it flush and paint. you'll probably do a better job than the schmuck that painted the door in the first place anyhow.

I threw a large center punch the other day and it went right through the wall like nothing, not sure how to get it out

    I did this once.
I bought some of this shit, filled the hole, and flattened it out.
It dried white and matched the color of the door. Only way you could tell was if you got it at the right angle. I didn't even bother sanding and painting.
