>all the good looking SMGs are all old, rare and 40'000$

Is there any greater suffering known to man than being an SMG enjoyer?

    >weapon class that has nothing to offer beyond being cheap tiny and automatic
    >expecting them to not be ugly, shitty and only for the rich

    You played yourself

There's a handful of nicer modern ones that are accessible like B&T, but yeah the other anon nailed it. This is the wrong category of arms to collect if you're into fine workmanship. The problem for you is that anything that's pretty and has high levels of workmanship is going to be expensive because that doesn't come out of a modern factory.

      >B&T
      >Still blowback
Overpriced garbage. The fricking stribog is roller delayed now. Any blowback subgun that is charging more than entry level prices is a ripoff.

        What’s wrong with blowback?

It isn't a locking action so the cartridge is contained by bolt mass and spring pressure. That makes for a gun with lumpy recoil. Not unpleasant but it slows down your followups. You also tend to get more gas back in your face when suppressed and its just not tunable.

Any locking action will have a lighter bolt and smoother recoil. This lets you shoot accurate much faster. You can also tune the system for the bullet weight and suppressed/unsuppressed. You can train to be fast on a blowback gun but the skill ceiling will always be higher on a locking action. Blowback is also the cheapest way to make a gun. So its pretty obvious corner cutting and price gouging on a $2k sub gun. CMMG developed their own unique delayed system and sell their guns for $1500. So its not that hard or expensive to make a locking sub gun.

            >So its pretty obvious corner cutting
Yeah man, that hydraulic buffer sure is a sign of making the gun as cheap as they possibly could.

Making a gimmick buffer is cheaper and easier than doing a locking action. So yeah.

              >utilize shit action design
              >cobble together a hydraulic buffer to try and compensate for it
              >when you could have just went with a proven, superior design instead
Yeah, that IS cheap, you fricking moron

because you're talking about a historical class of firearms, like "sniper rifles"
    it's a '70s-'90s meta, when you had:
    >battle rifle
    >assault rifle
    >SMG
    >MG
    >sniper rifle
now that class has basically gone away and supplanted by
    >DMR
    >SPR
    >PDW
    >assault rifle

there's never been a better time if you want a faux-SOF rifle like a MK18 build but good fricking luck in the 90's if you wanted to build a 10.5" carbine, I hope you're a gunsmith
if you're in the market for an MP5, you're buying clones because it's basically the same as a thompson or garand or springfield. the meta's moved on and no one regularly uses iron sight bolt rifles or full-length .45 machine guns.
even PDWs are out now unless you're SS or personal protection detail or whatever.
it's been 13 years since UBL was killed and even SF now have moved on from the "HK416, GPNVG, MP7" meta

tl;dr you're 20 years late to the party and pay a premium accordingly

You can buy mp5 clones for $1200 right now.

why would i care about having an SMG, when i can just have an intermediate carbine thats the same size & merely load it with ammo that doesn't rape my senses when i shoot?
SMGs are a thing of the past, a luxury item, logistically impracticable, and at best niche use
if you really care about "muh pdw", just grab any gun with an adjustable gas block & load it with subsonics

      >The cure is to stop being nogunz and you'll develop taste in better guns quickly
while that might sound without merit, this is pretty much true
most guys looking for smgs are in noguns states / countries, since pcc's are so common there, but they want a shorter barrel, but can't get it, so they just mald & whine
