Post good steel toed boot brands

What kind of steel toed boots do you wear? I've been wearing these Danners for a few years, they are starting to wear out. They are comfortable, but they squeek and dirt gets in through the top. I want to try another brand but am not sure what to try. Google isn't very helpful because they just link to articles suggestimg big, popular brands. What are you using?

Same here. Been getting carolina logger boots for years. I am extremely hard on boots and need a new pair every 8 months or so.

I find that Uggs stay comfortable even after a long night of tunnel digging.

I wear Thorogoods, they're good. So far they're the only boots that have stood up to a chemical plant (even though mine aren't ESD)

The cheapest pair of regular soft toed brahmas I got from Walmart like 5 years ago. $20. Stuck $8 steel cap things on there and put knockoff dr scholls in em. If you were to do all this today, well I don't know if they sell the escott model anymore but you won't be spending over $40 and you'll have the coziest and longest lasting pieces of shit ever.

Don't splurge on shoes. Whatever you buy might just last you only a year, and then they'll be falling apart and they won't have soles in them, and the bottom rubber parts will be gone, and they'll reek of shit, and eventually you'll just pull the toe part through the hole your foot goes in and ball up that boot and flush those pairs down some random public shitters like I did

      Workshoes? Love that brand.

Everyone I talk to seems to like Danners or Georges. The contrarian in me wants to get something else just to be different.

My work gives me an absurd $600 for boots each year. I don't even know how to spend that much.

I have tried wolverines a long time ago. But now I'd rather get something over $300.

Pocket the money. Also where the frick do you work?

Well yeah, if you buy low end. My carolina supertreks (discontinued now reeeeee) are only in bad shape because I use my boots to kick anything from walls, to concrete and rebar. They aren't waterproof worth a shit anymore since you can see the safety toe through the gaping holes in the leather, but they still function fine otherwise. They're about 3 years old now
My other work boots are 4 and 2 years old

        >Where do you work
        Local government.
        >Pocket the money
That wouldn't work for me for a couple of reasons that I don't really want to explain.

Blundstone extreme 990s. Work really well and with my reimbursement for boots I only need to pay 70 bucks for them. Chelsea style work boot, easy on/off, chunky boys with a good sole.

Wearing some Keens right now, which are OK. Used to wear Danner Viscous but they kept on increasing the prices for the same features, so I'm trying the Keens.

Keens used to be my go too boot, but the last two pairs I got the glue for the rubber failed and the boot came apart after 6 months. Company got too big and let quality control slip. Still haven't found a replacement for them I'm happy with.

I have some avenger hikers. They're super comfy and fit well. I wouldn't buy again. I've been wearing them for a year and the threads and glue are falling apart. I redid some of the threads already but there's just so much it'll take some work to maintain them. And 3 of the lace hooks have snapped off, someone though plastic was a decent substitute for metal

Also, they're wide, which is a super-major plus for me. I hate shoes that squish my foot or toes

I get frustrated with how slippery boots are in snow.

Red wing irish setter's with 600g of insulation, the warmest, amd a boot made in Minnesoa, have hard as shit soles that are death on concrete if theres any snow in cold temps.

My current danners are the same way.
    What gives??

I actually run a boot store where the focus is work boots. Ever tried Ariat or Wolverine? The vicious is a nice boot. Nothing wrong with getting the same thing again.

Can you get multiple pairs with your $600? Id rather have three $200 pairs and swap them out regularly than one $600 pair...

Yes, that is an option. I'll probably do that on second thought. Thanks for your input.

My current boots have a carbon fiber toe. They have protected me just as much as a steel toe would. And they are so light you can't feel any weight in the toe. Sadly they are keens and they fall apart so damn fast. Was thinking about thorogood next as they last quite a long time from what I have heard.
