Well, time to say it. The "Chinese manufacturer shit products" meme doesn't really apply anymore. Yes you can get some serious shit from there, but the manufacturing infastructure they've hammered on for decades now produces some of the best shit available. America lost that fight because of fricking greedy boomers with no foresight. If you even find cameras made in the US they are probably going to be inferior, or full of chinese parts anyway. What you should be looking for is cia level shit that's made in China.

No. Product research is a skill you should develop it. Start by finding rankings and reviews that aren't AI. And get the cia shit out of your head. If you look into all the tech goverment agencies use you'd likely find some incredibly embarassing shit on the level of walmart webcams. You want reliability and 100% uptime so find systems with reviews that are glowing on those fronts. And there's often nothing wrong with big established brands like Ring. Hate to say it but Ring is the fastest and easiest security setup I've ever done and in 3 years I've had to replace 1 camera out of 10 for $50. It's all motion detected, alerts your phone and starts recording immediately when it sees shit, has drawable camera zones, night modes, great ui, saves all your vids offsite for $100/yr, has neighborhood alerts, and solar batt and plugin options all on wifi. You can get those set up easy peasy and suppliment it with your own closed circuit cam system with a box that records detected motion the same for a couple hundred bucks if youre super schitzo paranoid. Tons of security bundles out there with cams and box.

With that said there’s tons of Bluetooth and home network based cameras out there. Worth having a couple pointed at entry portals to the home or other chokepoints purely to act as tripwires. Somebody comes in the back door at 0230? Camera detects and dings your phone, you see a basketball American rifling through your shit or just a broken door, whatever. Important thing is it woke you. Dogs can do the same thing, better, without risk of being used against you in court though.
