Closest I've been able to find is some German using passive radar to locate an F-35 at an airshow. Never mind that an F-35 would mount Luneburg lenses for safety at an airshow or the fact that the system was still only accurate to about a square kilometer.

F-35 do show up on radar, but their radar surface is very small which makes them hard to differentiate from other small objects, like bird.

SAAB probably uses software to track each individual object and then decide what it is depending on behaviour.

should also be noted that neurodivergence is basically a requirement to be hired by SAAB as an engineer, so whatever their solution is its most likely weird as frick

    stealth is a meme
even the peak stealth design got detected by ww2 radars

So let me get this straight, a single nighthawk got shot down with its bomb bay doors open, flying the same path over and over again and you drew the conclusion that stealth is a meme because of that? If only that downing could be attributed to complacency

        what is, IRST?

The F-117 had a lot of thought put into minimizing IR.

a considerably shorter range system for detecting aircraft compared to radar that uses emissions that stealth aircraft are also designed to minimize. What's your point?

        Cope.

And TWO nighthawks were hit in Serbia, not one.

Serbia is that team that loses every single game of the tournament, but they eventually score one goal (in a game they still lost) and tear up the goalposts and parade around with them for 30 years

Except that “goal” ruined the reputation of the multi-billion dollar goalie and led him to an early retirement

          >led him to an early retirement
It stayed in service almost a decade beyond that point and even then it's still flying for secret projects and aggressor training. The F-14 retired before the F-117 and none was shot down by Serbs, where's the logic in that?

          Anonymous

F-117s are still flying as stealth aggressors and testbed aircraft, and it was retired because newer aircraft were better at it's job and easier to maintain. But go off about how Kosovo is totally Serbia, I'm sure that'll un-bomb Belgrade.

            how do they do it?

It isn't about being invisible it's about making it harder to track with old systems.
If your wavelength is too long you aren't seeing shit, if your software filters small returns you aren't seeing shit, if you don't have the excess processing power to get the speed of every bird it's not just a software fix.

      Could China lock it?
      Yes.
      Could the US lock it?
      Yes.
Could the rest of the world running 30yo radars with small military budgets?
      Probably not.

When to solution to the problem you created for the enemy is to spend billions of dollars a lot of your enemies can't afford the solution.

The eternal Sw*de was annoyed that Finland chose the F-35 over the Gripen. Because Swedes are not particularly good at anything other than being middle managers, they tasked their Finnish subsidiary with the actual development work. The superior Finn with his mighty intellect and ancient wisdom then delivered a most effective stealth busting product, as tends to be when you task them with such trivial work.
