Speaking of Socks!

What worksocks does PrepHole recommend, based on experience. Mine just tear after only a few wears. I have a reasonable budget.

All i really have are 2 pairs these little shits on the left which don't tear so quickly and the ones on the right which tear the moment i bike to work.

Save me from this misery. My "carreer" as a warehouse worker depends on it. I need material tough enough to stop my gillete-level footcallus.

Also, should i switch socks on a daily basis? I wear mine for 2-3 days, because i'm so low on footwear. It basically feels like i'm hopping in to a fresh pair of cumsocks each morning.

You should change underwear and socks on a daily basis.

OP please clarify. How are you using your socks?

I wear wellies a lot, I use a tough outer sock and a normal inner sock, helps keep the wear down

For work boots I got those dickies work socks from Walmart which are pretty good quality. Caterpillar ones are decent too.
For normal shoes Falke London or Airport. Pretty expensive but it feels good to be able to put on some actually nice socks on non work days

2nd. Great construction/warranty. Lifetime guarantee that I have used without hassle. I have a bunch of pairs of the light hiker. Perfect padding exactly where needed without feeling bulky. Keep my feet warm/cool/dry all day. Buy a pair or two a month and you'll have a lifetime supply built up without a big spend all at once.

      This.
They also do lifetime guarantees. If anything happens to em you can switch em out. Even if they are 10 years old.

I used to buy the nice darn toughs and wigwams, but for work I have been running the cheapest possible walmart 33 cent a pair or the infamous $8CAD for 24 pairs of socks. for $16 I can get fifty pairs and not deal with dank socks for every work day. My laundry interval is on the order of months because I'm a filthy offgrid hobo, but these do the tricks for work as a tradie and carry me a long way.
Keep your socks clean and your shoes dust and sand / debris free and buy a boot dryer so you're putting on fresh and clean boots each day.
You're going to have two feet for the rest of your life so its worth investing NOW to increase your comfort and performance.

      >My laundry interval is on the order of months because I'm a filthy offgrid hobo,

You don't have water? I did laundry in a plastic trash can for weeks while deployed. Easy as it could be.

I just let it pile up in a cardboard box and when I go to do laundry do a couple commercial sized units at once. I have water seasonally but for the most part have a pretty fat wardrobe. Not really giving advice to anyone to live like me, I just trimmed away a lot of stuff while I'm getting my shit setup.

If you can afford them and it's not too hot out, then Smartwool trekking weight are amazing. The trekking weight has a nice thick sole that really helps with fatigue.

Honestly I love my Darn Tough but Smartwool is nice too.

a few years is reasonable lifespan for socks, just buy cheap ones you are comfortable in and buy a lot of them because next time you want some they won't exist

Dan Post, the white ones with green toes.

When I'm in the states I buy 20 pairs from Boot Barn. I think they're meant for cowboys or some shit but they're the perfect all weather boot sock.
