>Speaking @CSIS, Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment LaPlante indicates the Boeing-Saab produced Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb has proven largely ineffective in Ukraine.
>He cites numerous issues including ineffective TTPs and Russian GPS denial.
GLSDB turned out to be just a meme weapon:

I guess the problem is that the russians see a high flying, slow moving contact on their radars and shoot it down. Who could have foreseen that when weapons like SS-21 and 220/227 mm MLRS rockets gets intercepted. GLSDB is a weapon ideal for blowing up durkadurkas but a total dud in a peer war. The russians also claims shootdowns of french hammer bombs which are rocket boosted and far faster.

But it's more likely just humdrum, passive jamming.

Quick check of the transript shows that GPS only shows up once in regards to exporting its usage. not russia being able to cause issues.

umm akshually the only thing that separates us from the russians is an honest attempt at seeing where we fail
russians constantly false flag in order to degrade this capability by inflaming people and making them see bait threads even when there isnt one

      There's SDBs in stock.
There's rockets that will be dismantled.
Ukraine can't afford to bolt bombs under their fighters and rack up thousands of flight hours in their ageing MiGs to drop bombs.
So you bolt the bombs to a rocket motor to do the job the air force does, but from a ground vehicle.
Wait until you learn the Israelis took air launched anti-radiation missiles, bolted them to rocket boosters and fired them from ground vehicles too.

Also, the russians claim that they can intercept and shoot down 122 mm MLRS rockets. If true, their short range AA is way better and far more numerous than NATO equivivalents.

Russians claim they can intercept Storm Shadow, there has been several instances of SS passing by whole battery of S-400 and they failed to intercept any

Absolutely despise the whole "th-th-this is actually a good thing for Ukraine!" crowd. But aren't GLSDB hilariously inexpensive and easy to launch? Is there not still some value to them eating up Russian AD?

      >But aren't GLSDB hilariously inexpensive and easy to launch? I
That's the idea in first place, something to fill the gap between a 155 shell with GPS kit and a GMLRS, cheaper than an 155 excalibur.

They are more vulnerable to GPS jamming than GMLRS are because of the trajectory.

The GMLRS rocket does course adjustments from the very start of it's flight to get close to the target, it then falls in at a steep angle at supersonic speeds, likely spending fairly minimal time In the jamming zone relying on INS.

The GLSDB meanwhile uses unguided rocket to get to altitude and then glides at a much shallower angle to get to the target, spending much more time gliding at lower altitudes inside the jamming zone.
This allows the INS to drift much more.

This high altitude aero-gliding trajectory also makes them more vulnerable to air defense fire, and since they aren't available in the numbers of the GMLRS they cannot simply saturate the air defense.
