Did they, really? It's pretty much a spiritual successor to the double action revolver combined with a browning hi power.
The handgun market was going to settle on that same basic design eventually and now every other company has far exceeded glock, which could get much more competitive if ONLY they ditched the fat polymer magazines and used steel magazines and magazine catches to increase capacity.
The 1911 is shit and internal extractors are shit. If you want a target gun there are much better (fixed barrel and sight) designs that don't rely on overly tight bushings and copious amounts of cope grease to operate.
Glocks are shit. You can't call a striker fire reliable, especially one that has so many limpwrist malfunction issues, and that has all of its features stripped off and plastic parts that should absolutely not be plastic like the trigger, guide rod, sights, mag release mechanism, mags, mag floorplates, etc. That thing is a cheap piece of crap.
HK actually makes the best handguns but you're going to pay $200+ more than a Glockshit. Realistically, anything made of plastic is not built to last by the manufacturer. Think about all of your daily products made of plastic, including your car which has a shit ton of plastic these days. Everyone has gone the way of planned obsolescence, Glock just went all out with it and made the cheapest POS that could possibly still shoot bullets.
HK handguns (at least the ones the marketing victims care about) are plastic. Plastic frames are more durable than steel or aluminum frames. And finally, strikers, and glocks especially, are more reliable than guns with hammers.
Marketing to morons.
I remember a time when Glock was blowing hands apart and fingers off. >Canik TP9
Better quality
Better trigger
Pay less get way more.
No mention of "blowing hands apart and fingers off", again, because that doesn't happen. People post pictures of industrial accidents next to blown up guns and since you're a moron you believe it.
>arguing subjectives while shilling turkish trash
Canik is going to be playing catch up for a decade to the aftermarket and supply Glock has, in a SHTF situation you arent going to find Canik mags. Glock is only 100$ more on average, a minimal fee for not coming from turkroaches. moron.
But the canik triggers are so much better than glock triggers, you dont need the aftermarket. Plus they come with optics mounting plates and holster. Objectively better in every way.
>literally just a smaller hi-power made out of plastic
Bravo.
Time to rest on your laurels and never iterate on the design at all for over 30 fricking years because clearly a pistol with the ergonomics of a bad dragon knotted dildo could not possibly be improved upon. They do nothing special, they do nothing better than any other pistol. The only advantage glocks have is that you can take all of the Glock parts out of your Glock brand glock and have a pretty snazzy pistol for the cost of a DD AR. >BUT THEY'RE RELIABLE!!!!
newsflash fricko, so is every other popular handgun on the market. The fricking rigatoni Black folk made the funny toblerone pistol that does everything yours does for 80% of the price. EVERYONE makes something that does exactly what a glock does for a fraction of the price.
The only selling point you have left is that after paying a 100 dollar premium you are granted the PRIVELEGE of spending EVEN MORE MONEY on your gun.
Technically the 1911 solved the handgun, Glock just made them striker fired so a hammer can't get caught on shit and more modular, which was gonna happen no matter what.
Glocks are what you get when you want a cheap, but not dirt poor, pistol. They are objective trash, but get a pass because they were the first decent striker-fire pistol.
Honestly if you want Glock but good, just get a damn Sig. They're basically the exact fricking same 'cause you literally can only do so much to a pistol, but they'll typically edge out Glock in terms of reliability.
I do notice a lotta Glock owners also use 40 Shit and Weak, and try to justify it as being a "compromise" of 9mm and 45ACP, when the FBI literally did a test and found out that 40 is fricking pointless except for very specific and niche uses.
Never before has a single firearm brand been associated this strongly with blowing up under normal use. I would never touch a glocknade unless my life depended on it.
First gen glocknade was unsported .40 cal barrels exploding thanks to handloaders pushing the limits. Then you had a litany of companies shitting out questionable quality barrels for cheap and well that's just a bad idea.
the handgun was solved in 1911. JMB revolutionized the world and to this day glocklets still seethe.
Baste. I was going to post this too but now I don't have to.
Objectively false
This picture smells like Old Spice and urine… the nursing home visitation hours are almost over.

What did Honda "solve" with Civics? The after market is the only reason to choose a Glock at this point
Billy is a literal cuck

Why did they do it bros

plastic guide rods and mag floorplates are fine.

No you don't because that never happened.

Only problem that picture is NOT a Glock.
-not trigger safety
-thumb safety (not Glock)
-external hammer (not Glock)
Wow good job moron you cracked the code.
what even hapened here? out of battery detonation?
This is what happens when you dry fire too many times without using snap-caps. Picture is real btw.
i dont think those images are actually related

They were sold to police departments for 75% less than we pay for them. They became ubiquitous because they were sold very cheaply
