There really isn't that much of a point now that 5.56 and .300 BLK carbines have the same form factor as a P90.

Especially bullpups like the x95 and MDR that have decent barrel length.

an MCX rattler with a 50rd mag is going to be much more cumbersome than an mp7 or a p90

Compared to fielding an entirely new kind of ammo, magazines, and manual of arms, not really.

Also, 30 round mag does fine.

A proper P90 is overall a much better CQB weapon than an SBR.
      >flush fit 50 round mags that evenly distribute weight along the length of the gun
      >20" OAL kicks the shit out of even the Tavor SBR
      >actually good in full-auto thanks to super low recoil
      >can use significantly smaller suppressors than 5.56 with less noise, further reducing size and noise vs a 5.56 SBR
      >little loss in power with heavy subsonics
P90 is great. The PS90 is pretty retarded. Five-seveN and its copies have every right to dethrone 9mm handguns.

Mid-tier. The space saving only goes so far when the power isn't quite there. It needs full-auto to compete with 5.56.

like "poor-ppl killer" like its expensive? its not a meme. at least 5.7. theres no way to deny how different it is from other cartridges. its a lot like .22wmr or 17 wmr in recoil, the trajectory is similar to 5.56 out to 300m and the round is small and weighs nothing. it kills animals very similarly to 5.56 at <100m ranges. id say 300m is about max, steel hits at 300m are very light. when you talk about a p90 and factor in bottom ejection and 50rd mags in a gun thats wide s shoulder width, it makes a lot of sense. With auto its even cooler but a semi auto is very capable. PS90 barrel is a bit long though, best to get the sbr barrel. anyone who thinks its meme hasnt used it because its just too different from other stuff to be overlooked. Its too expensive though compared to short AR15. pound for pound a 10.3 AR is better

so it is how i thought it would be
pretty nice, basically a miniature rifle
expensive as shit, you kill your wallet for extra salt on the wound

i bought ps90 and sbrd when they were <1000 dealer price and every few years when the ammo drops in price i buy some and shoot it, other than that i keep a stash of ammo and use it as a truck gun but dont shoot it. Only when something needs shot from truck. If I bought a p90 at todays prices it would be crazy. I dont even want to know what 5.7costs now. I bought it when it was~.35$ /rd. For the cost of AR parts and 556, a short AR is more realistic. 5.7 rd is cool though. If ammo was cheap id shoot it a lot

          >barrel sets into the cylinder when firing similarly to a nagant to contain pressure and gasses
          >also comes in carbine length, and in .22 magnum with even more chambers per cylinder, but waffle plastic is on every option

Answer ISO a question. But that's what moves the market along, drop new hype shit in the wild, people buy, get bored and when sales flatten you launch another one. I fully expect necked down and saboted .45 pistol rounds for "tuh ultummitt stoppan powa" sold to the last of the boomers before the use up all their money in old age home and leave their kids with nothing

I've been seriously thinking about getting a Five-seveN as my next "big ticket" gun along with a 629 and 686. I almost already have guns that I would consider "practical" besides a .308 bolt and a small semi auto CCW and I wouldn't mind having it in my collection to shoot every now and then.

Shot placement is kang, and the chance of shot placement being lethal is improved if you have a larger bullet. You also have more chances to hit if you have more rounds.
6 rounds of .38/.357 sends .6 square inches of lead downrange.
7 rounds of fuddy five sends 1.13 square inches of lead downrange.
17 rounds of 9mm sends 1.7 square inches of lead downrange.
50 rounds of 5.7 sends 1.9 square inches of lead downrange.
Magdumping for 50 rounds only gets you a marginal boost in over 9mm and by the time you finished firing a 1911 could probably reload and put more lead down range.

What kind of retardation is this? More shots from a pistol on target equates to a greater chance of causing debilitating trauma. Shot dispersion is more important than wound cross-section. Pistol rounds are all almost all weak and shity anyway.

        Anonymous

It's not retardation, it's autism. Shots will be dispersed better with a higher surface area output.
        >pistol rounds are weak and shitty anyway
Even more of a reason to put the emphasis on poking a bigger hole rather than many small ones.

          Anonymous

No. A hole is a hole. Any decent sized hole in your spine, aortic arch, heart, brain, etc. is life changing.

          Anonymous

you don't just "poke holes" with these high velocity ammos with pointed/spitzer tips, they enter soft flesh and then explode, pretty sure 5.56 out of 18-20 inch barrel goes 3k+ fps or some crazy shit

5.7 comes in like 5 different flavors and the "AP" version of it doesn't weigh as much as something like m995, and it doesn't go as fast either, but that fucking cock smoker at Fort Hood killed a whole bunch of people with singular gunshots to the chest so.. pretty sure that wasn't the ss190 round, he bought that gun off the shelf.

Your calculus is not very accurate, because Speed of the bullets is usually more important factor than the amount of lead you're throwing.

But it mostly matters if the bullet is rifle-speed, the threshold is somewhere at Mach 2, above that the flesh elasticity breaks, and what would be a temporary wound cavity automatically become a permanent wound cavity.

The FN 5,7 top velocity falls just in that range of speed, it can go at least 2,800 ft/s (or Km/h works too, same thing really).
So compared to the other rounds, the 5,7 's temporary cavity becomes a permanent wound cavity.

This is the reason why Rifle rounds to the torso are almost always deadly, because of the excessive bleeding by the human flesh rupturing when rounds go above mach2 speed.

So simply counting the combined mass of your bullet, instead look at speed differences first, because more speed = more damage IF you go above the mach 2 threshhold.

5.7 is a good round, but because FN is fucking FN, not many guns exist for it.

In a PDW, which is just a better SMG to all the fags who say it's a meme, it's arguably the best option.
Similar ranges as 5.56, decent penetration for a pistol caliber, and respectable power.

Where it's lacking is in the raw power department. 45ACP is still kicking not because it's the "best" ammo, but because it's one of the more practical options for people who want to inflict maximum damage to the flesh per shot.

    Ultra turbo meme

      >Ultra turbo meme
Yes, sure, but there's a scientific reasoning behind this "meme".

      See

Your calculus is not very accurate, because Speed of the bullets is usually more important factor than the amount of lead you're throwing.

But it mostly matters if the bullet is rifle-speed, the threshold is somewhere at Mach 2, above that the flesh elasticity breaks, and what would be a temporary wound cavity automatically become a permanent wound cavity.

But basically a bullet going above Mach 2 is so fast that human flesh doesn't have the time to absorb the energy of the bullet, so ikt tears and break : the temporary wound cavity becomes the permanent wound cavity, creating more than 10 times the amount of bleeding of a slower round.
It's the Human Flesh Elasticity Threshold.
      It's not a meme, it's very real.
That's why Rifle rounds to the chest will kill almost all the time, while 9mm, a bigger diameter bullet than 5.56 is way easier to survive when shot.
Rifle rounds do more damage for this very reason.
