Six weeks ago I had my engine oil replaced. This is how it looks now. As you see, the level is fine, but the color is rather dark. Is this OK? It's a 1992 Peugeot J5 camper.

Diesel?
Yes Diesel
Great thank you
Also, the dimple in the stick is the level marker right?
Diesel oil will look like that before you've left the parking lot. Its normal.
Detergents in the diesel mixture make it look black

Ftfy
It’s fine, it takes a very short amount of time for oil to darken when it gets hot. Check out project farm’s videos on it (heating oil in a coffee pot timelapse)
Sir, PrepHole does in fact have a car related board. Over here we whack things with hammers.
Wrong board
nobody on PrepHole wrenches. they are all busriders or homosexuals with miatas.
that's fine for a diesel engine. the oil turns black right away.
that's like telling someone to go to PrepHole for a computer issue
OP has 2 current threads for auto related issues. this one and another for a "oil in water" sensor. OP is moron
>looks like OP put graphite in his oil
>if I saw my oil look like that I'd junk the car the same day
...
oh it's just a diesel
arent you the same homosexual who started a thread about oil in the fuel with this same goddamn camper?
go to PrepHole you moron this isnt the automotive board

I thought oil was supposed to be black
Brown.
why do they call it black gold then
There is a difference between the crude oil that comes out of the ground, which is a very dark brown or black, and the refined oil one puts into a car or other engine. Note the word "refined."
Have it analyzed you moron.
