I don't know about England, but in America plumbers make a lot of money and stay pretty busy. Of course you usually have to dig through shit if you work on repairs, but if you only do new construction houses it's a fairly clean job, but there's probably far less new construction in Britain. I would think the types of fittings there would be quite different though and a lot of older homes. Your plumbing union can tell you how to get trained and certified and all that. good luck man. It can be hard work, but it's real work, honest.
