I don’t have a SHTF kit, I have a get home kit. I spent the last year and 3 months traveling for work. Always with a full suite case, a rolling tool bag with 50lbs worth of tools and this backpack and its contents. Typically I flew but I also often drove. (Of course when I flew my knife went in the tool bag and my ammo and gun flew in separate luggage.

The red highlighted area is part of my EDC, it’s on me no matter what.

The yellow is my shotgun kit that came with me when I drove. I also carry maps but I need to upgrade that to a GPS system.

This bag also has some relevance because my company ghosted all of its field employees and left dudes thousands of miles from home. Luckily I was at home that week but many dudes just took the rental cars on cross country road trips to get home.

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

What the frick happened to your company? Consider the old standby of vasoline cotton balls in a bag for fire starter they burn for a good while so you can actually dry stuff off a little.

Embezzlement? One big scam? Who knows.

I got an email on Friday telling me I was fired on Monday. Don’t expect back pay.

They owe me like 3k, they owe some other 20k. I calculated the owed compensation to be about 120-150k and we only had 48 employees.

Best as I can gather from the accountant(I speak with her). They were purposely keeping crappy records and didn’t let her look into the details. So she assumes they had been embezzling money for months until they drained the company.

I want my money but as long as I get by I’m not mad at them. Last year I told them I had a family emergency but took 4 weeks off to work on a movie set. Was cool. I left a job a week early and left them a phone call and text. They kept paying me too.

I like it. Why do you bring a shotgun instead of a rifle? Less stigma? Ability to legally drive through ban states?
I have been favoring my shotgun over my rifles lately. Shitrods just work. No frills.

You nailed it, no one cares about shotguns and I can take it anywhere.

        Stupid Ami
You need a small Hatchet or a Folding Saw.
Also you need a Stainless Mora.

        here are recommendations:
Hatchet and Folding Saw:Silky Saws Big Boy and Silky Ono Cleaver Hatchet

Mora Companion or Mora Kansbol which has Dual Blade with Scandi grind (good for wood carving) and Flat grind (skinner and slicing).
        Both are Stainless 14C Sandvik.

I’ve got an Esee in that bag and I have a m12 Milwaukee hackzaw in my tool bag.
I have lots of axes but don’t believe the hype, a hatchet isn’t that important. The world is a tinder box.

        >bought all this kit just to be spared from the accident that actually happened
        im sorry anon

I know right? But I’ve put a lot of this stuff to use. Especially the small med kit. Has a dude chop off his finger once. Keeping winter clothing is also important and I’ve had to use it in emergencies, the only thing I can say for certain I’ve never used is the camp burner.

I highly recommend the ready pack 2.0 this thing has been with me over a hundred thousand miles.

Truly the worst part is, the one trip I didn’t take my carry gun a guy tried mugging me. He ran off after I hit him I was mad at myself. I went and got an out of state PA permit the next day.

actually good points. With mass shootings being so common now, a shotgun might have an optics advantage over an AR.

I should really make one, but I always fly and to places all over the country, so I'd be pretty fricked regardless.
Although thankfully I don't have to worry about getting ghosted like that. Employer's a fortune 200 company and the last round of layoffs even people there less than a year got a severance deal.

I flew with 99% of this kit and you can always put your gun in a case. I didn’t take the shotgun when I flew but I would get my gun in its case after landing and stuff it another bag.

Nothing is going to be solid, because you'll shed/add gear based on factors of weather, time of year, potential threat, movement plan, neg/pos logistics. Hydration/weather protection will keep you alive. There's nothing worse than a bad night of freezing so bad you can't sleep. Food is easy you can get a bunch of energy cars. These people who try to go 5 star on the cuisine don't have their survival priorities straight. Have a smorgasbord of shit to pick and choose. Start looking up "ruck marches." They actually did more better for me in terms of "bugging out" than military hikes. Also buy body glide. Run that shit between your legs, and on the bottom of your feet. Or else you will need weeks to recover from feet problems. That shit wirks

      5.56mm
      .308
      .45 ACP
      9mm
      .40 SW
      .357
All good and Common calibers that are relatively easy to forage.

As to your question 5.56mm cause you dont need a Nuke to kill a Ant.

Came across this random seal recently, he makes a few good points about blending in instead of autistic larping.
