They'd be viable if wind didn't exist. Also, you will experience severe back/neck issues if the weight of the gun isn't counterbalanced on the other side. You need three full 17-round Glock mags to counterbalance a G19. They don't even sell shoulder rigs set up for that. I would leave shoulder holsters in the past if I were you.
Perhaps you can consider a different gun than the G19 to carry then if you're this critically concerned about weight distribution. Maybe a Ruger LCP or G42/43?
NTA but I've actually had severe scoliosis for decades now (it was detected too late and is just barely on the edge of requiring surgery) which doesn't affect my ability to carry uneven loads. Physiotherapists even encourage me to exercise my back more than the average sedentary lifestyle requires, to keep it functional despite being a crooked piece of shit. The biggest deal is I shouldn't sit like a normal person.
Oh good I thought I was the only one > Grew up in town with state penn as xoomer, including max security and death row > Bikers in town all had relatives in prison > Drank, beat wives and kids, worked endlessly on their crummy AMF Harleys. As kids avoided their houses at all costs. > Flash to 2000s, now bikes are cool. Bikers are cool and hard core > All I see is white trash and rich guys coping about being old
No to both, though more mildly to the latter. CC isn't the only thing in carry anon. Most of my carry is open, because I live in a rural area and carry a full size HG almost exclusively for animals. Since it's cold much of the year here yeah like other anon said sure I can throw a coat over it and it's cc, but the main point is that it's an ultra comfortable way to carry a full gun during all work. Tractor, chainsawing and doing roof work or anything else, long hiking trips with pack, fanny pack, on snowshoes or skies, whatever, never gets in the way. The decline of open carry in much of the country and habit of men wearing decent clothes and jackets is unfortunate since it's so comfortable but it's not a meme.
But at the same time if I had to go to some urban place with concealed only then no, wouldn't be a first, or second or third for that matter choice I reckon. Probably would want a compact there and more universal concealment carry.
Cum try to touch my wiener and find out gay gay. Bet you just wanna grab my shaft and give it a few violent maybe even painful strokes and surprise me with the quickest and most unwanted erection I ever had. For that crime I will rape the gay out of you.
Google the model name + 'shoulder holster'
I was able to find a setup for my Chiappa Rhino ez pz. Finding one for a normally proportioned revolver should be even simpler.
classy option for a classy gun
surely you're carrying a gun that pairs well with a full grain leather shoulder rig and not some austrian piece of tupperware...right anon
Viable CC option you fricking moron. Vertical shoulder holsters are top tier for people who dont need deep concealment and spend a lot of time seated. If you have a pro gun or minding their own business road job, office job, or anything else where youre seated much of the time then they're just about the comfiest option out there while being decently quick. The biggest actual issue IMO is that shoulder carry conceals like shit compared to IWB let alone pocket carry.
they conceal extremely well and easily the caveat is you need a cover garment obviously. so you cant ever take off your coat or jacket or whatever you are wearing
It should ride higher than that, that’s more like a Tanker holster.
If you’re in and out of a vehicle all day, in an office, etc, it’s a great way to carry, especially in colder climates. I know a few Leafs who carry that way.
Not crazy about it,desu, prefer my Don Hume JIT slide, but the problem with that is having your suits/blazers/sportcoats cut to hide the bulk of the piece, either my tailor let's out the chest or let's ou the waist.
Letting out both looks weird when the coat is buttoned.
>slower draw that requires someone to sweep 180 degrees before aiming at their target >awkward weight distribution that will always leave your neck/back uncomfortable >harder to conceal, requiring a coat and reasonably cool temps >offers no retention for open carry >half of them point vertically (good luck to anyone who's in line behind the P320 owner)
Unless you're carrying a hand cannon or extremely fat, I don't see why you wouldn't opt for IWB carry. Even in the summer a full-size handgun conceals just fine in a AIWB holster under an untucked t-shirt. Shoulder holsters severely lack in versatility.
yes for deep cover missions but access is slow as frick and you need to tie it down to your belt as an anchor otherwise anytime you bend over it looks like you developed a rosie odonnel tit on one side which is obvious as frick
If you aren't a fat fricking moron /k/ slob and you wear an oxford shirt it is your best bet.
In fact, this thread is moronic and op is a wiener sucking homosexual as always, because most people that carry a gun and actually have the balls to use it in a situation where it's merited don't need to make a post on a Lebanese rc airplane forum to figure out where to put their gun before they drive their Chrysler to the store for more bud Ice and Marlboro blacks
>wear suit every day >deskjob >shoulder holster is peak aesthetic >glock 45 threaded barrel >eurocuck so carrying forbidden ; who cares, third world everywhere
So, viable is it ?
Muzzle sticks out the back.
Butt sticks out the front.
Angle the piece muzzle up and butt down an rely on the retention strap to keep it from falling out.
Or…buy a verification rig with n open front an a spring steel retention clip so that you pivot the butt down and pull the piece out.
Problem now is that you’re essentially carrying a left side waist, but high, and your suit coat has to be cut for it.
James Bond buttons his suit coats.
Horizontal carry is fine for snubbie revolvers and small semis they were invented for, not for large semis with full-size barrels.
That mildly annoyed me because for all the silly zany stuff in bond historically they actually paid a lot of attention to the tailoring of his suits and having the basic gun work. If you know holsters it just looks so obviously sloppy there, like if someone knows suits they'd recognize if Bond was stuck in some random shit generic one.
Though I guess these days lots of young people wouldn't recognize either.
Quite so. The youngsters nowadays will wear suits at their prom, at job interviews, and at funerals.
I guess it’s fudd to lament the shocking decline of haberdashery in our society. Watch the old newsreels and see that people would wear suit, tie and hat to attend a baseball game or a prizefight.
James Bond originally carried a Walther PPK in .22LR, which was much more in keeping with his gig as a SECRET Agent…then the gungay comers got involved…
When you’re in that line of work and HAVE to pull your gun and shoot, you’re not very good at your job,(or the other side has someone better at catching you).
>I guess it’s fudd to lament the shocking decline of haberdashery in our society. Watch the old newsreels and see that people would wear suit, tie and hat to attend a baseball game or a prizefight.
I have mixed feelings. I don't think it's entirely fudd. Yeah, "everyone must conform to dress code" and social stratification and shit could and was taken too far in many instances. But at the same time humans are odd creatures and I think it some level of professionalism and care to get serious is helpful to mindset. So is putting lines between areas of our lives, there has been a great blurring where work and home and everything has gotten all blended together. For some maybe that's great, but overall I think it hasn't been healthy. There is some symbolism in getting home from work and /taking off your tie and suit/, like you are exiting work mode. You are relaxing. Work was hard and demanding but now the time is yours and your family's. Whether you're on business or not has a clear symbol. There is some respect for everyone else too, "I care enough about my work place and coworkers' reputations and everything to put in some effort." Dunno, don't mean to get all rose goggled either and I say this as someone in my early 40s who has indeed lived the full flex time and relaxed-tech-casual and contractor and such life quite a lot. But I've come to think it's gone too far the other way, too much expectation of constant connection, not enough boundaries, some people are completely professional no matter what but I've noticed others need "structural help" kinda if that makes sense. They take social cues. Suits or at least decent shirt/tie/pants also made it easy for everyone and removed a lot of personal politics type stuff that caused friction.
Anyway, yeah though for James Bond specifically it twinged my OCD a bit, I like it when there is attention to detail on stuff like that. He's always been a flashy character but still.
>James Bond originally carried a Walther PPK in .22LR
In Dr. No, at least, he is just returned from sick leave after his .25 Beretta failed to stop some goon who put him through a plate glass window or something. It makes a big deal about Bond wanting to keep the Beretta as his service pistol, but M makes him accept a Walther PPK in 7,65mm, which is seen as a huge increase in firepower (one more bullet and stopping power enough to kill a charging bull with one shot).
I suppose in fairness any new Bond movies probably need to adapt a bit to the era they're in. IRL agencies have changed opinions about carry in the last 40 years a few times do to changes in threats and changes in technology and the loads available. Like part of why we saw the whole "9mm (1970s) isn't enough anymore we need more, ok 10mm is too much to handle how about less, ok 40S&W fine, wait 9mm now has tungsten sintered ram loads and shit available it performs fine now" thing. And of course at Bond's level money is no object for something like this, if some specific snowflake round min/maxed better for his needs and comfort agency armorer will hand make him all the ammo required to match specs.
best way to carry in jacket weather and they just look cool
Extremely cool, but I don’t think it’s a viable CC option unless you’re a high class private security detail and always wear a suit
They'd be viable if wind didn't exist. Also, you will experience severe back/neck issues if the weight of the gun isn't counterbalanced on the other side. bait detected
Anon, not everyone has scoliosis like you do apparently.

Never had any issue and I just wear my denim coat all the time. Its how I carry when riding my hog.
HELL YEAH BROTHER
So much testosterone in one picture.
beer, domestic abuse and diabetes too
Biker pics always makes people seethe.

my brain will forever, initially, misinterpret this because of Crash Bandicoot.

How do we deal with the bearded menace, /k/?
Great carry option if you're a grizzled police chief from a 80s or 90s movie who always has the brass riding his ass.
MENDOZAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
kinoest option
Classiest way to carry. How do you intend to carry in a suit without a shoulder holster?
No to both, though more mildly to the latter. CC isn't the only thing in carry anon. Most of my carry is open, because I live in a rural area and carry a full size HG almost exclusively for animals. kind of a pain in the ass, you basically have to get one fitted

Cool is never outdated. Pastels, yes.

The only projection here is me video taping your gay conversion theRAPY.

Dude, seek help.
Frick you, they're kino and comfortable.
literally the best thing ever if you are sitting down or riding
Riding a desk, copper! You'll never take me alive, seeee!
Well, I'm no boomer and I wear one under a leather jacket. Very comfortable.
Okay so I have the revolver, how do I even go about finding a shoulder holster that’s fits?
Go to Bianchi or DeSantis holster's website and pick the holster for your model.
That’s sexy as hell, Anon. What model and barrel length is that?
OWO wuts dat?
Google the model name + 'shoulder holster'
I was able to find a setup for my Chiappa Rhino ez pz. Finding one for a normally proportioned revolver should be even simpler.
crossdraw sucks, it only makes sense for people who sit down all day but are expected to carry a weapon.
Better than getting glock wiener.
explain why without mentioning sweeping bystanders like that matters in a self defense situation
FRICK THE CIVVIES
Cross draw is the slowest draw and it makes you very susceptible to having your gun taken from you in bad breath distance.
every carry position has a weakness, that doesn't mean anything. life is tradeoffs.
classy option for a classy gun
surely you're carrying a gun that pairs well with a full grain leather shoulder rig and not some austrian piece of tupperware...right anon
How good are these rugers. My lgs has like three of them for like $400
Nice boat anchors! Preferred weapon of +45yos with fat wives.
i like em and from the handful ive shot they seem nice
heres a hop autism breakdown on the whole p-series
i would get one anon its a fun shooter but the awb cucked the capacity

Are you moronic? A vertical shoulder rig properly fitted can make anything disappear. It’s THE way to carry a full-size handgun.
they conceal extremely well and easily the caveat is you need a cover garment obviously. so you cant ever take off your coat or jacket or whatever you are wearing
shoulder rig is ultimate comfort when carrying large
It should ride higher than that, that’s more like a Tanker holster.

you're not getting my penis penis destroyer
Extremely kino. Shame my commute is incredibly safe and I have zero need to carry
Have any of you tried wearing one under a button-down? The problem with shoulder holsters for me is that you’d have to keep you jacket on at all times
Not in Constitutional Carry states, oc is lawful here.
>Mugger approaches
>Start getting undressed
You don't?
You could do it between your button down and your t-shirt.
Rip your front buttons with your left hand and draw with your right.
Personally, I wouldn't try it.
yes for deep cover missions but access is slow as frick and you need to tie it down to your belt as an anchor otherwise anytime you bend over it looks like you developed a rosie odonnel tit on one side which is obvious as frick

It's my preferred method of CC when I can do it, but it's not ideal in some situations, though. If I can, I will.
Anyone know where I can find a leather holster for a Smith and Wesson 5 inch 460 Magnum?
I don't see it brought up so I'll point out that shoulder holster is the ideal carry when you're driving a car or otherwise in a seated position.
I think the biggest issue would be finding one that fits you just right. I doubt public ranges would be ok with you practicing your draw, either.
Based.
