Should Ukraine form a LRRP-style unit?

Slaughter some Russians up close and personal, exploiting the intelligence and intel provided to Ukraine by the West?

What does that achieve exactly? Just gets the Russians more motivated to fight back.

Hey Vatniks, how are the HIMAR strikes working out for you?

Nitpick but it's High Mobility Artillery Rocket System. The S in HIMARS isn't because it's a plural word, it's part of the acronym.

        >He doesn't know that this war is going to last until 2055 or a Russian loss, whichever comes first

Its meant to choke Russia out with no survivors. Even if the entire Ukrainian population gets fed into the meat grinder the war won't end until Russia loses. The West can find plenty of folks to continue feeding in.

who needs recon teams anymore when you have drones, especially in a flat country with no thick forests where you have vision over the entire area unobstructed

LRRPS were used more like professional assassins.

Serious question: you're in the jungle (whether now or during 'Nam) for weeks on end on a patrol. How do you wipe your ass when you shit? Surely you don't carry toilet paper for the entire duration of the patrol?

No. One thing Ukraine is really leaning into hard is that they are a modern and law abiding military. Torture videos of Russian prisoners virtually stopped completely after the earlier days of the war and Urkaine repeatedly has stated that unlike Russia they do not employ soldiers of fortune or mercenary PMCs. If you are foreign and can help you are welcome, but you will become a member of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, paid the same as anyone else who joins. They have a program for Russian families to find their loved ones in Ukrainian custody and have a journalist on YouTube who posts new voluntary interviews with Russian POWs virtually every day or so, all with English subs, and this is something they stress often to the prisoners, these differences between the way legal and humane way Ukraine is doing.

The journalists channel has been blowing up in views. The interview are quite interesting and with a variety of types of Russian service men, though mostly conscripts.

Ukrainians are vicious killers. They only act this way to appease the West in the hope of more gibs.
