esides the 4-6 Iranian Medium-Range Ballistic Missiles that were Downed by the USS Arleigh Burke (DDG-51) and the USS Carney (DDG-64); a Majority of the Missiles during Iran’s Attack against Israel were Intercepted by the Israeli “Arrow 2” and “Arrow 3” Surface-to-Air Missile System. However there is believed to have been 1 Missile that was Downed by a MIM-104 “Patriot” Surface-to-Air Missile Battery with the U.S. Army in the Northern Iraqi City of Erbil, which was only recently Deployed there to the U.S. Consulate and Erbil International Airport after the Iranian Ballistic Missile Attack in January of 2024.

First combat use of an SM-3 correct? I'd wanna know if these were the were Block Is or the newer Block IIs but I doubt they will disclose that. One of the bigger take aways from this whole meme should be how valuable CAP is, most people focus on the SAMs and forget fast movers can swat shit like drones and cruise missiles very effectively. Allegedly 70 of the 180 something shasneeds got knocked out by fighters

I'm pretty sure there are less than ~48 SM-3 Block IIA in the USN inventory in total.

So I HIGHLY doubt they'd have used one unless they needed to.

yesterday was actually a massive tectonic shift in military affairs, while morons are busy flinging shit at each other.
Basically the biggest concentration to date of combined MRBMs, cruise missiles and cheap lawn mower meat shields was lunched and utterly crushed by western C4ISTR and weapon systems.
over 300 targets and barely a handful passed through, proof positive that in order to actually saturate a modern layered defense system you have to throw so much shit at it at the same time its almost unfeasible.
basically this closes the lid on the various lawn mower drone and ballistic missile worshippers like Russia, Best Korea and China.

Maybe if you were born yesterday. The problem of saturation of the defence have been the obsession of Western weapons development since the beginning of the Cold War.

Pretty sure China can spam one or two orders of magnitude more missiles and drones than Iran though, and with considerably less warning. Given that the US failed to cope with a swarm of only a few hundred over the course of nearly ten hours, what makes you so confident that it could handle a few hundred thousand over the course of one hour?

The frick do you mean "failed to cope with" when it shot down hundreds with just two ancient destroyers and the attack wound up accomplishing absolutely nothing? I swear you vatnik pidorashkas live in an alternate reality or something.

Not only that, it’s intercepted ballistic missiles now. The US is unmatched when it comes to naval air defense. Type 45s for example have had much less success

The ballistic missile shootdowns using sm-3 are a fact. The carneys latest deployment intercepting numerous aerial threats on multiple occasions is a fact. We just aren’t seeing the staying power of the arleigh Burke class in the type 45. I’m sorry this upsets you

That's not warriortard you stupid frick, he's just saying that the SM-3/SM-6 combination is godly and the Type 45 hasn't shown an equivalent performance. I'm starting to think that the random mentions of warriortard are done by him himself.
