I have a 10/22 that reliably chews through more than 10k rounds without cleaning and still doesn't malfunction. I'll never understand what people expect out of it that think it's a "joke".

Ruger makes shit just like everyone else. The difference is they’re riding on the shoulders of the legacy built under Bill “Tread Harder Daddy” Ruger so people give them a pass. The PC Carbine? Shit. The 5.7 Carbine? Shit. They literally stole the design from LelKek for the LCP. Generally their older designs are going to be better because they’ve worked the kinks out and the designs are usually simple. Even then, Mini-30? Shit. The one thing they’ve consistently done right is the 10/22 and even then the quality has dropped dramatically on them. I think as a company they’re spreading themselves too thin trying to keep up with LARPing tactical nerds and trends instead of focusing on the fudd shit that they’ve been making since the 70s.

I'm genuinely happy for you that your taste in quality firearms is so poor that you can be happy with pot metal spraypainted crap so long as it's reliable. I'd rather spend my money on guns that aren't designed by boardroom committees to squeeze every cent of profit for shareholders.

I think Ruger's management has done an exceptional job bringing interesting guns that people can afford into the market and what you don't hear their customers saying is that they regret their purchase. I bought a used Mk3 on GB a long time ago. It had not been used and all the oil had crystalized to I took it completely apart and and the recoil spring "looked bad to me" so I called Ruger. The sent me a free replacement, and could not have been nicer about it. I went to put it in and it was the same as the original, I just didn't know what I was looking at. So I have shot that pistol ever since, taught people with it. Runs great. I bought a SR1911. Really wrung my hands over the cheaper price, would I regret it, never have. I have "high quality" guns too, but have never regretted buying a Ruger.

You are a brandie because you are too stupid to know what is quality and what is not. You don't have the background to know how things are made and where the value is created. It's harder to get a picture of the Ruger frame than the S&W, but here it is. This one had a bit of work done by the previous owner.

They partnered with Samson MFG in some way or another and now Samson makes the official folding stocks for the Mini. They even make them for the 10/22! Has been that way for a little while now. Pistol grips aren't as shiny and dark and the 10/22 doesn't have the mini/AC-556 style barrel band which I think is a bit of an oversight. Samson makes the stocks and barrel bands available in black/blued and stainless which is nice and the front barrel band has a Magpul QD in it included in a pretty tasteful and useful manner IMO. There's a slot and screw hole to put a QD swivel at the metal cap where the stock attaches as well if you buy the QD for a couple bucks which I did. Either way it's still a cool as frick stock and I use the one I bought for my 10/22 to go squirrel hunting. Looks best with a 15rd mag IMO. 25 curves too much.
