Reverse Osmosis Water FIlter

Recommendations for a reverse osmosis water filter to filter out hormone runoffs, atrazene, fluoride and forever chemicals ideally.

Thought about InfoWars filters but they do not test well apparently.

Was looking at Waterdrop's G2 7-stage under sink system but concerned if General Electric decides to shut off my power.

I've been quite happy with my Express Water RO5DX. It' a three stage filter before the RO unit. The RO feeds into line pressure tank. And the output of the tank goes through a fifth filter before hitting the faucet.
Water comes out tasting like nothing.
Installation is simple. No electrical parts.
While I'm not a fan of plastic in my drinking water path, the filter after the tank bladder reduces the contact substantially.
Having 2.5G of filtered water on demand is great.

Doesn’t remove everything. Distillation is the only way

Any recommendations? Amazon and such distillation filters seem cheap built straight from Alibaba.

Do you know how well it filters hormone runoffs. My family lives in an area where plan B is quite popular.

          >Any recommendations
I literally risked being called a shill by giving you a product name to search for:
          >Express Water RO5DX
          >seem cheap
It's all the same stuff. Aquarium. Drinking. There's only so many ways to contain filters and run 1/4" tubing between. That said, the kit I recommended was well thought out, complete, has a leak cutoff, and survived regular use under my sink for years. Coming on seventh filter replacement with no leaks.
          >filters hormone
RO and carbon filters do very well. Depending on inputs and condition they can approach 99% effective. Only boiling destroys 100%.
          >in an area where plan B is quite popular
Unless you are drinking from a sewer, I don't understand why this is relevant.
You're either in a municipality where your water source is from upstream and processed. Or you're in a rural area with a well and nowhere near your neighbors' septic. If this isn't the case, you have much more to worry about.

wtf how did you post these twice at the same second?

Sometimes PrepHole fricks up. I have doubleposted before, with a pass the cooldown is lower maybe even 0 on this board, or it's server side.

You ever seen a thumbnail swap? Two posts at the exact same millisecond anywhere on the site, the thumbnails for their images get swapped with each other. It's very confusing and I don't know that it happens anymore after some redesign.

            >You ever seen a thumbnail swap? Two posts at the exact same millisecond

that's one of the more boneheaded bugs in PrepHole, which they claim is a PHP bug. Bullshit. When you connect to their server there is a lot more to the connection than millisecond timing. Imagine if any legit business fricked up like that. "Oh, I'm sorry about that $20000 charge that emptied your account. Whoopsie!"

The other pants-on-head moronic bug is the claim that images are sideways because PrepHole strips EXIF data. Any decent site strips EXIF data, BUT THEY LOOK AT IT BEFORE THEY THROW IT AWAY. Of course, moot used to brag that he never paid any programmers, and it shows.

RO will remove just about everything. In fact RO water is so pure that it can taste weird to people. I'm one of those people so I have a remineralization "filter" on my setup.

I have one of those too but it's pure snake oil. At best it dissolves the absolute minimum required to keep the water at a neutral PH once it hits the air and can begin dissolving CO2.
If you're going RO get a 5-stage setup of 5µm -> 1µm -> carbon -> membrane -> carbon using standard 10" filters and a sufficiently large membrane (eg. size 3012) with a booster pump so you can go tankless. Shouldn't cost you more than ~30€/year to run if you change the pre/post filters annually and the RO membrane every 3 years. Unless your tap water provider is actively hostile and sending mud down your pipes that's more than frequently enough. My pre-filters are barely dirty after a year and my pipes are full of sand and rust.

you can just buy all the fittings separately and build it yourself, no need to get locked into a specific company
I buy my filters from a saltwater fishtank company

      >build it yourself
OP has demonstrated himself to be an imbecile. There is not enough money saved to justify his fumbling failure. Frankly, even I looked at pricing parts individually and between the sourcing and shipping I wasn't saving much of anything.
Yeah, buy the replacement filters direct since they're standard canisters.

You guys should look into importing RO systems from India. They're quite robust and extremely inexpensive. I imported a 7 stage one with an alkaline balancer for ~150$ including all taxes.

Does it use standard filter housings? Please drop link.

Having worked for one of the most advanced manufacturers of reverse osmosis:
A large volume, high rejection membrane, coupled with a pre-pressurization pump, will increase pressure across the membrane, result in higher rejection, and enable you to get RO on-demand, instead of using a shitty pressure tank. The whole unit will take up less room than a standard unit with a tank.
