As far as anyone knows, he's still leading Wagner, who are still recruiting somehow. Safe to assume all of his other companies are BAU.

Pretty sure they've been taken over by Putin's people around 2018.

This. I have, in my travels, met precisely one Georgian man, and he was the most indoctrinated vatBlack person gorilla moron I have ever met. Pajeets have more restraint, american vatniks show more intellect, or at least a veneer of it. If not for the knowledge that he genuinely was brain damaged I would have negative levels of sympathy, and as he is my only frame of reference to Georgia I can only assume there are a sizable enough portion of the population that, if not brain damaged, still think the same way, which would most probably cripple the war effort if the gov wished to reclaim the lands.

I'd say it's definitely the best time for them if they had any political will to do so.
I am afraid current gov does not sways that way at all.
I have no idea how their current forces fare ? Have they been reinforcing in the past years?

Without significant western help I don't see how they could do it by themselves. Maybe a couple easy gains at the begining with the surprise but the counter would be brutal. Many hard to take defensive positions too

Gib cute mountainfu. I promise to make satsivi.

I'll put a baby in her South Ossetia, if you know what I mean.

      That hair is bleached obviously.
There are some blonde Georgians but not many, they're mostly dark hair, often jet black. Many have some Turkish in them too.

The girls are skinny as frick though, the would/would-not ratio as you walk down the street of Tbilisi is quite high.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think generally the best idea is to use their relatively small land connection to Russia against them. Main force drives towards their capital "Chinkville" or sumn because it's directly at the border to Georgia, while a two-pronged attack cuts South Ossetia from any logistical support from Russia. I don't know how much Russia would get involved in that case but I can't imagine they'd have enough manpower and equipment to get seriously involved if South Ossetia was attacked.

Its the caucasus mountains. Attacking there is completel irrealist. The best hope they would have is to dash in the valley after beating local forces to occupy the only road between russia and ukraine (I believe there is a tunnel, but couldnt find it)
What would stop Russia from attacking anywhere else and the pathetically small georgian army to collapse is a mystery (they dont have javelin)

I think NATO should train up a battalion of mountain warfare specialists who can then take a few weeks to go *over* the mountains on foot and take the tunnel entrance on the Russian side and demolish the entrance with explosives from the inside while retreating back through the tunnel towards South Ossetia to meet up with the pincer movement on the flanks.

It would be an epic mission if it could be pulled off and you can't convince me that Georgians couldn't man and train up an awesome mountain fighting battalion. I don't think the Russians sleeping off hangovers in the watch towers on the Russian side would ever see it coming either, the mountains are impassable and the other side is their controlled territory, those guys would never have seen anything to call in, it would be sheer bad luck if their radios even worked but even if they did, they won't be looking.

        Apologise.

Someone redpill me on Georgia. From my understanding, it's the Abkhazians and Ossetians wanting their own independent countries. Why does the west oppose of this?

I understand that in donbass, you just have Russian separatists pretending its their land but Abkhazians and South Oessetians are a separate ethnic group with their own cultures.

        >It's just Russia using proxies to try retaking "Soviet" territory.
This. The ethnicities are legit, as is their "claim" to live there but so is Georgia because it wasn't a hard border and the groups are (were) all mixed and living next to each other.

        >it's the Abkhazians and Ossetians wanting their own independent countries
They had referendums in the breakup of the USSR and voted to go/stay with Georgia but it wasn't an overwhelming majority so the minority decided to just ethnically cleanse their neighbours and take their land, all stirred up and organised by FSB of course.
A lot of Georgians were murdered, raped, robbed etc and Russians are still doing this, moving the borders overnight and "arresting" anyone now illegally on Russia's side of the border, for torture, robbery, rape and sometimes murder.

Those were always historically Georgian lands that were settled by unwelcome upsua and Ossetian rats a few centuries ago the same way Kosovo was settled by ratbanians in the 17th century.

There was a very bloody civil war in the '90 and then Russia stepped in protecting the minorities but also using them for their own objectives

      >But what's even the point of talking about this if the Georgian people voted an anti war political force into power?
      Unfortunately, there isn't any.
The current Georgian regime needs to collapse and be replaced with, if not an uncorrupt one, at least a not-Russian one.

The current Prime Minister and effective party head is a Russian oligarch in all but citizenship and betrays Georgia to Russia at every opportunity.

The political situation needs to change before the military one can but when it does,

I's wait for puccia to collapse

waiting for Russia to collapse is probably the right play.

Fund and support anti-russian north Ossetian rebels, then get them to absorb south Ossetia and become an autonomous republic of Georgia.
