Redpill me on the M&P Shield 2.0M 9mm.
Looking to buy my first gun, and looking for an all purpose one I can concealed carry.
Is the laser attachment worth getting?

Get the Shield Plus. Better mag capacity, same ergos, the 13rnd extendo makes the grip about the same size as a Glock 43X. Fuck the Crimson Trace frame, if you need a laser that bad (you don't), get a Streamlight TLR6
This. The people I see using lasers at the range, they seem more fascinated watching the laser dance all over the target and their accuracy isn’t a better. The M&P Shield Plus has a great trigger, great sights, mag capacity, and I can find it for under $400 all day. Really hard to beat.
>great sights
That's where you're wrong. The factory sights are better than Glock and that's about it. Plus they're a real son of a bitch to change.
You know when I said, “great” I was comparing them to Glock. So, you have a point.
Lasers aren't about improving accuracy, they're about rapid and high-confidence target acquisition, especially with a suboptimal sight window.
I mean if I had to accurately shoot someone, it seems nice to have a dot to double check your aim. I'm not sure why you would use it at a range, though.
fippy bippy. Plus' trigger is miles ahead of most, and you can shop to cater to your wants or needs. Thumb safety y/n, optics cut, night sights, performance center models too. The "bugout bundle" has 5 friggin mags included, and pretty sure you can find em online sub-500. Do it OP you can't regret it.
You can also get 15 round magazines for the SP ever since they put out the Equalizer.
It puts a little too much length on the grip for practical carrying, but it's fun to have a little extra when you're plinking.
Seems like a lot for EDC
Can confirm, the Shield Plus is a fantastic CC gun, and while the 15 round mag isn't always practical outside of cold weather months it's fun to occasionally be carrying a subcompact with 16 rounds onboard your person. I upgraded from a first gen Shield a while back and I haven't regretted it. I think I paid $320 shipped for mine (plus $20 for the FFL transfer), if you catch a good sale they can be cheap as fuck.
I use the Aliengear Shapeshift 4.0 IWB holster, and while it looks very large in comparison to other holsters it is incredibly comfortable and has a lot of options for adjustment of ride height and cant. I highly recommend looking into one.
Anon, unless you are swimming there is no such thing as carrying too much ammo.
It’s one of the guns I recommended for my ex-gf, I took a firearms class by a retired trooper who was head firearms instructor for a state that issued Sigs and he said once he retired this was his EDC.
Lasers are gay.
Get a Kel Tec PF9, it's real cheap and designed with the best Florida cokehead engineering
Ah yes, the Trayvonslayer
Have you shot a single stack 9 yet? They're not comfy at all. They give such a small area to grip and recoil so much it actually affects accuracy even if you're a good shooter. These are emergency guns for no more than around a 10 foot shot. Something P365 size is easier to handle, I trust that out to about 30 feet. For reference with a fullsize 9 I'm good out to 75 feet. I could stretch shots further than all of those but you won't do well in training past those ranges, so you know you won't perform well with it at further ranges in a real shooting. I wouldn't trust a single stack 9 if I were ever caught in a mass shooting for example, it just isn't going to shoot accurately at a safe enough range. For their size those things should be .380's. Minimum size for 9mm is P365/Hellcat/Ruger Max9 size.
I have babby manlet hands and a single stack 9 fits it perfectly, in fact most still put the mag release too far forward for me to not have to adjust my hand to use it.

Rock Island Armory BBR 3.10 45ACP, it won't hurt your hand shooting it and .45acp only loses around 100fps in a 3inch barrel, use underwood extreme defender ammunition.
Ignore this fucking retard and get the Shield Plus
9mm is super weak and no matter what super special 9mm ammo a police officer uses on a criminal, said police officer always need to mag dump them with all 17 rounds in order to stop somebody completely. On the other hand, whenever cops use .45acp, the bad guy always drops to the ground immediately within 1 to 2 shots fired.
