2x4 is such a stupid boomer word. We should call them 248's. >hey man, hand me one of them there two-fourty-eights. >sure this place needs these two-fourty-eights
>yeah, i need a load of two-fourty-seven-point-sevens
I can appreciate what your saying, and like to be pretty exact. Send it should be 2 sets of numbers, with the first being the dimension (as you did), and the last being length in inches. 2x4x93s (I think) used to frame walls >twenty-four ninety- three
When I've talked about lumber in jobs past, the connect of the conversation implied the dimension though... I'm going to get back to my coffee.
I hope the price goes down, Ib was thinking about building a shed to store my shit.
I've never heard of Menards until I started using this forum. I legit thought that Home Depot and Lowes were the only common home improvement stores. Sucks that there isn't a Menards near me.
Menards is vastly superior to Blowes or Home Deport. The employees are actually polite and helpful unlike the washed up tradies that the other places hire.
The reason they do these sales is because they just bought a massive load of 2x4s that will be sold for $1.50 each and so did all their competitors. So now they are try to offload all of the 2x4s that they bought at $2 before the price drops and they can no longer even sell them at cost and have to take the loss.
Actually, the mills are getting caught up with orders and all the wood that's been on backorder is suddenly showing up. Now they're up to their dicks in lumber so here come the sales.

Worth a stamp bro. Yeah you actually get store credit not cash but Menards is so awesome you'll definitely be going back.

That's cool and all, but they don't exist in my area so it doesn't matter.

I know it's great. I can buy materials and fix stuff around my house while practicing my skills before applying to a job. Might make a basement for shed just because I want to store wine I'll make after building a greenhouse.

Cicero and Melrose Park, IL are my closest so that doesn't hold up here.

>what length?
>AIDS
>You mean the twenty-four eights?
>No, you dingus he means the two-four-eights
>Look it's clearly Two-hundred-fourty-eights
i used to call them 'two times fours' but i simplified that and now i just call them 'eights'.

>mail in rebate
menards rebates are simple as shit
you tear off the bottom of the receipt, fill out a small provided card with your name/address and then mail it
they are slow as shit processing though, usually takes a minimum of a month to get your rebate check back
Even without the rebate that's pretty close to pre-covid prices.
At a buck a pop that's doesn't come out to be a terrible hourly rate, depending what you'd ordinarily pay for bulk 2x4s somewhere else.
Mail in rebate for wood.....
Let me guess you have to remove the bar code stickers from each one individually and mail them in.
>Let me guess you have to remove the bar code stickers from each one individually and mail them in.
kek I hope so. mail in rebates are always designed to make it hard to claim them / forget about them
It’s all about composite decking! Jk
