      Skirts are cute

Skirts should be mandatory dress code unless the job specifically requires pants for some reason.

While correct op might be onto something about tassets for protection of the major arteries in the thighs

Because it wouldn't stop most things and anything that could be stopped by something like a kevlar skirt isn't really that big of a deal as long as you have a medic at hand (which proper militaries have tons of).
So, why bother with the added weight? We aren't armoring most of the body anyway.

ieds, shrapnel, grenades any other explosives.

            ???
Interesting to point out threats that are accounted for.
Minor fragmentation won't be that big of an issue provided medical attention and major ones will tear any miniskirt to shreds unless it's restrictive to wear.
Unless of course we give everyone bomb suits.

why not wear greatcoats instead? A greatcoat made of a sturdy material doesn't actually have to be that warm, and they're frankly a very practical garment. More stylish than skirts too.

either you spend too much time in a fricking desert or jungle or something or your a fricking pussy, probably both.

                >why not wear greatcoats instead?
Access to your LBE, unless you want to put it over the coat, in which case flexibility (literal and figurative) is impacted. Aesthetic is impacted as well.

I mean wearing your gear over your coat can be pretty stylish if you do it right.

Just by looking at this picture I can feel my spine compressing. Remember, if you dont wear at least level 3 plates in a fricking JPC, you don't get to talk about armor.

Knights used to jump on and off horses with them, so a wall should be fine.

Don't forget to include a kevlar codpiece. Both for protection and to distract the enemy.

I've done just that, go to bulletproofme, by any surplus police vest as padding for under your plate carrier, then purchase as many of the used inserts from police vests as you want for 25 bucks a pop or less. You can then cut those panels to shape or sew them to anything. I simply sewed mine to a kevlar belt with at least 4 inches of overlap between sections, 5 sections was sufficient give me full coverage. I then sewed a simple velcro straps from some old motocross shit I found at a yard sale to the front two inserts so that they could be attached to my legs. Congratulations you have have a means to keep your femoral arteries, dick and buttocks safe from shrapnel and 9mm. Do not leave the front open, dick protection is critical and you should get that interceptor era codpiece anyway.

I also created two shaped sleeves for my upper arms to cover my subclavian arteries but I don't like them as much.

What purpose does the armored skirt serve? It seems like it'll only get in the way of your holster or thigh packs unless you have pockets on it and use it purely for carrying shit around

Depending on configuration draped soft armor can provide better ballistic protection than an equivalent weight of fitted armor, and you have femoral arteries and generally want to protect your legs. Probably the same reasoning as behind the tactical nun in

      https://i.imgur.com/pdznJI3.jpg

Is it actually practical? Probably not, but it doesn't have to be totally useless.

Kamas aren't armored to my knowledge.

They were in the superior canon. I don't think its ever been clarified in the new stuff.

Because we one have jetpacks to worry about burning the shit out the back of our legs.
