>two Arab-tier armies
yeah, nah. Arabs aren't even close to either. For starters, Ukraine alone has 1207 tanks **officially**, 1818 artillery pieces, again, officially and pre-war, since there was a buttfuckton of artillery in storage, this number can be safely doubled, without taking into account anything manufactured before 1960. Now show me one Arab country that will come close to this
Not exactly the country that you think of when you think "arab", but anyways. Egypt has 1130 M1. The rest of the 3000 egyptian tanks are not exactly new- T-54,55, T-62 and M60. Museum grade, basically. They have zero AA, 2021 artillery pieces IF you count 1920s-early 1950s vintage(D-1, ML-20, M-30, A-19, etc. 1609 total or almost 80%), they rely on fucking Norks for their missiles (Skud(1950s vintage), Luna(1960s vintage), Hwasong(Norks)). The situation is the same almost everywhere, most of their equipment is museum grade, except the stuff they bought from the US, F-16 block 40 and maybe M113 depending on the modification/year of production
Egypt has over 3000 tanks. They have more M1 Abrams than Ukraine had tanks in their entire army.
Egypt is a bit of abnormality in arab world and whole africa, decently rich, decently populus and relatively stable, it's basically a small russia sitting on the one of the most crucial trade nodes on earth and that no one is noticing. Obviously they don't have 3000 tanks, it would be the same as saying that russia has 10000, most of it just old junk and if we counting that in Ukraine also has several thousands. But still Egypt has a shitton, they are absolute leader, heads ahead of arab world, and they only have just about the same firepower as one side of this conflict. So sentence about this war being slightly above arab-level holds true.
>just about the same firepower
That's the thing, they don't. They have basically no arty, questionable amount of ammo, almost no MLRS, no AA, no production of anything more complicated than small-batch manufacturing of 1950s arty. Whereas Ukraine had huge amounts of ammo even after destruction of 3 biggest ammo storage sites, shitton of arty, production of ATGMs, MANPADS, various missile types including AA and ballistic. Without AA russia could just spam missiles and destroy anything they want-several thousand missiles, even not so precise, ain't a joke. I could continue this, but the bottom line is that Egypt is by no means close to Ukraine in firepower
>Ukraine is Jordanian. >Most of Jordanian equipment is 1950s vintage at best
But they do have 12 himars and a hundred of leclercs and f16, so that's kinda neat >in very small numbers too >Pantsir S1 for aa (kek) >No missiles
You've got to be kidding me m8. Retard that suggested Egypt was closer closer to truth than you
Egypt is a total logistics mess, so it fits as Ukraine. >F-16 >Mig-29 >Phantom >Rafale >Mirage 2000 >Apache >Ka-52 >Mi-17 >Black Hawk >Abrams >M60 >T-62 >T-72 >T-90 >T-55
And the list goes and on and on.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_equipment_of_the_Egyptian_Army
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aircraft_of_the_Egyptian_Air_Force
Well, maybe as a metaphor. I may have overreacted because of that retarded anon earlier that tried to say that Egypt has firepower equivalent to Ukraine
The armor seems kinda thin on the top, where the turret should go. What's the point of tank's heavily armored chassis if there's a huge weak spot on the top?
It's probably being built in Factory 103 who got the contract to "refurbish" 800 T-62s. Since they don't seem to have any spare parts, they're probably just lashing something together to get paid.
Do you really know this little about tanks. They're literally all like that. No one is gonna be shooting you from the top. >muh planes
5mm more of steel isn't gonna stop a 500lbs bomb
So given the projection that it won't carry infantry, what's it's point? Tags along with m113 and let's loose in support of infantry so the m113s don't have to?
This is 99% a Ukie rembat making something at least barely useful out of "moving but not shooting" T-62 and a "shooting but not moving" BMP
Okay, read up on it, these are Ukrainians.
Weird for them to do this, this is more of a zigger thing. Then again, both the BMP-2 turret and T-62 hull are captured.
But yeah, they got a free BMP-2 with a destroyed hull and a free T-62 with a destroyer turret and decided to make something of it. Like how the kraut Marder III was a Czechoslovakian tank chassis and a Soviet AP gun.
>this is more of a zigger thing
I didn't see a single similar zigger mod, except the T-62 obr.2022, but they used up a whole tank repair plant for that. Whereas here this is 100% a small "mechanical factory". It's long to explain to someone without prior knowldge in soviet industrial structure, but you can think about this type of factory like big garages with better equipment
>I didn't see a single similar zigger mod,
No, they do shit like pic. For tanks they slap in rudimentary thermal gunsights into T-62M's.
>Weird for them to do this, this is more of a zigger thing
the fuck it is.
my personal favorite is the russians dragging out ww2 at guns as artillery and ukies putting one on top of an mt-lb.
ukies never had any compunction about using every part of the buffulo just like the russians have none about mobilizing anything that moves and/or shoots.
the ukies are just better at it, because they have always been the best engineers in the russian system
>ukies putting one on top of an mt-lb.
That was the Russians. Unless you have a pic, I'd genuinely like to see it.
>That was the Russians
no it wasn't. you don't even know about it, why do you have kneejerk reactions like this?

Without knowing details it's not rateable. It's a room with stuff in it, perhaps a dispersal location. Heavy equipment repair need not be pretty, the shit's basically bulldozers that shoot. Looks like a new adapter has been fabbed to mount that turret on that chassis to use what's available, sensible enough since AFV are consumable.
The adjacent room has a concrete floor suggesting this is overflow production. As a lifelong mechanic I see no problem, it's just not pretty enough for people who don't know what they;re looking at.

>new BMPT-62
Fuck yeah! I hope they add it as a battle pass vehicle in WT!
pakistan tier
*algeria tier
Well, what the fuck are you supposed to do with a bunch of museum equipment and turrets from damaged BMPs?
You do know Russia considered it good enough to invade with right

The fuck did you expect?

Yeah, but Russia is Saudi Arabia-tier but Ukraine is Jordanian.

Nope, those are ukies. There is their trident (in their national colors) on top of V on the turret.
Are all Soviet factories based on the same blueprint. This is the abandoned one in Kharkiv.
Universal modularity was a big deal in the modern period. The same universally applicable shit everywhere.
Do you really know this little about tanks. They're literally all like that. No one is gonna be shooting you from the top.
>muh planes
5mm more of steel isn't gonna stop a 500lbs bomb
Shit's so big and thin it's actually a concern in "DShK" or "RPG" usecases
Last of the V12 interceptors.
So given the projection that it won't carry infantry, what's it's point? Tags along with m113 and let's loose in support of infantry so the m113s don't have to?
Their twitter said that this thing will carry troops. But how they're going to pull this off is beyond me
Found the post. https://twitter.com/padrevaletudo/status/1655142474736705536
is this a Ukrainian or pidor factory?
I think its a ukie factory fixing and cannibalizing captured russian shit
Please, please don't tell me ziggers are now putting BMP-2 turrets on T-62 hulls. I'd legit start feeling bad for them.
This is 99% a Ukie rembat making something at least barely useful out of "moving but not shooting" T-62 and a "shooting but not moving" BMP

That's kinda my point. Ukie garage-tier T-62 mod doesn't look like dementia hallucination or whatever the fuck this MT-LB is
>Weird for them to do this, this is more of a zigger thing

It's just a typical rembat. Pretty clean facility too. Idk where they get parts for this museum piece, maybe they manufacture them
Turreted evolution of picrel, judging from the metal framework we see being built around where the engine is.
