Sorry for the mass reply but I'd like to interject as the middle man where psa does have problems with lemons but their customer service is very good and will make sure your gun gets fixed (replaced). Just be cautious is all.
They ship 2,000 uppers per day. They're bound to have a few escapes. The question is; is their lemon rate significantly worse than anyone else in the industry.
Their customer service is meh. I've used it 2 or 3 times and was dissatisfied every time.

-wouldn't mail me a replacement anti rotation tab for a handguard, wanted me to send the whole thing back(bought a mcmr)
-I think they forgot the anti walk screw on a different handguard but that was awhile ago(it's on a backup gun now)
I still like them though. Just know what they are. The parts are generally pretty good. Assembly and qc is what's iffy.

I was moronic. I saw the earplug in the muzzle trick for keeping mud out of the barrel and I must have gotten it in too far. Ballooned a section of the rifling out just behind the crown. Couldn't see it from outside but yeah.
That AR10 shoots like 1.5 moa after I rebarreled it with locktite 620 on the barrel extension.

Yes. Small arms are intrinsically disposable if SHTF and/or it's war time. You should also have a beater PDW for home defense contingencies in the event it becomes evidence.

you should be fine. PSA's are obviously not the greatest, but they're good enough. The only thing I've heard that they struggle with is their AK series.
I have psa beaters and they are great for the price
