drought leading to ranchers having to slaughter cattle means beef is going up in price

All you can do is cope and tell yourself you're safe, if your plan is to coop up in some building and wait things out you're in for a rude awakening. Especially since raiders are going to be continuously learning new techniques while you just have to sit there hoping safety in numbers saves you from being targeted by an enemy using unexpected strategies.
You have to have a few good friends first of all, even if there is little contact for years. You have to agree to bury shit at a certain unobstructed location from time to time. You have to have a plan to meet at said location. It's that simple. Whoever shows up is now your new family. Congratulations, you are now the raiders
Probably not though, life isn't a video game and so it's normal to take a more cautious approach to things. It's basically a game of detecting activity like smelling for smoke of burning wood, lights at night, electricity usage using clamp on ammeters, things like this. Then scouting for defensive additions to buildings and cameras, usually works better at night because of the IR spotlights that you can see with night vision goggles. Then it's just a matter of devising the kill, maybe setting a fire to coax you into the open to be shot, or toxic gas injection, or a small IED of some type. Either way your shit is going to be mine and any weak individuals you're protecting will be enslaved.

Um, yeah... like you can just buy this shit you know, I have a steel cabinet beside my bed full of the necessary equipment.

No one is doubting that you have weapons you intend to use to murder families with. I'm doubting your juvenile sense of invincibility during prolonged raiding in a time where a lot of people are looking for excuses to die.

No I know I'm not invincible, but I mean I have all this stuff, and basically sometimes I use it to steal stuff. The exhilaration of fleeing into the dark of the night with thousands of dollars of free shit is just so great feeling. Non-confrontation approaches are always best and lead to the greatest rewards with lowest risk I find, if you can just kill some preppers in their sleep without any drama that's obviously the ideal way to operate. It's going to be the coons pulling brainless home invasions that are going to be getting laid to rest for the most part.

Oh shit I spoiled your cover.
Carry on, sir.
Any other raiders in this thread looking for a partner in crime? I think this anon is willing to meet up.
Have a fallout shelter, potassium iodide tablets, medical supplies, gun, and months worth of food and water. Pretty much all you need in the realistic worst-case scenarios
I'm starting to think so. It's not so much a waste for me but there were plenty of people that were swindled into dropping their whole life to move into a shack into the woods. I don't even really watch Beat Independent anymore...
The idea that COVID lockdown type shit could happen again ruined it for me. I'll never feel safe around people who are so stupid they can be weaponized against common sense.
does it matter? when electric power fails for weeks due to buttholes shooting insulators out, that will be enough to collapse society as gas stations cannot pump gas, pipelines cannot ship fuel, and semi trucks can't transport food from production and distribution facilities where in turn, major stores send their semi trucks to obtain food to restock stores.
at that point, the basketball americans naturally gather together as their usual highly-racist gangs and go house to house looting each prepper. because preppers aren't united (due to mutual distrust) to defend a neighborhood, all the houses are defeated one by one otherwise known as "defeat in detail".
so your prepping could end up mostly as prepping for the looters to loot once the grocery stores run out of loot
>and go house to house
Choose very carefully where you live. If you live in such an area where this would even be a concern, then yeah, you're fricked.
its true, even though defense is one of the highest
priorities on the list in a prepping situation, nothing can properly prepare us for the looting tactics of the sorts of immigrants that we have been getting. They may all just continue to rush inside endlessly regardless of however many casualties they accumulate, like the fricking bugs from Starship Troopers.
than cancel any and all insurance you have.
the whole point is that you are prepared IF shit goes bad. >lol you wasting money on a bunch of shit that you will end up throwing away
1. you can buy them on sales, that's how I stock mine.
2. you eat it before it goes bad.
only a city loving homosexual would think being prepared with more than half a days worth of food is cringe.
whats the harm in being prepared?
if you are spending any amount of money that can be considered excessive, then you are doing it wrong.
you dont need to spend money on dedicated soup shelves or overpriced and overrated MREs or pre-packed emergency rations.
my stockpile is from things you can buy at any grocery store.
It just is not going to save you. Prepping for what is coming would mean owning farm land in the southern hemisphere. You just made some looters day in the not too distant future.
If you prepped your anus then I'll come over, if you get my drift. What I'm saying is that I'll frick your poop hole if there's no poop in it, if you know what I mean. What I mean is, I better not get any shit on my dick, homosexual
I spent literally thousands on canned goods, water, ammo & guns, and a bug out home in South Dakota based on pol’s and other right wing grifters advice. Meanwhile nothing is happening.
I mean, having a small stockpile in the event of a natural disaster in your area limiting electricity and utilities is a reasonable thing to do.
Now, actually thinking you need a personal sherman tank, bulletproof gear, full operator kit, and an atv with bug out locations you drill train on a monthly roation is just silly. Having a 'bugout' bag which is essentially just a way to evacuate quickly is also reasonable.
Prepping isn't crazy, but preppers take it too far into hobby cringe investing huge savings into things that won't matter or were never going to save them anyway.
Doomsday preppers was one of my favorite shows, because you can see the strain the person's psychosis put on their families, and the mental gymnastics of others to feel justified. This one b***h was hoarding insulin shots and burying them in mud thinking she'd preserve them for when the apocalypse happened because her fatass and her single mother daughter with a jayquan hand bag were both type whatever diabetics.
A week's worth of water and food, some guns and ammo, a backpack with some medical supplies, and semi-regular practice with basic survival techniques is all you're going to need. And most likely won't even need any of that. But when hurricanes not out the power grid for two weeks, it's nice stuff to have in the closet till things normalize.
Fallout isn't real life and if you're in an urban area, you're going to die regardless in any kind of coordinated attack.
Well our government just gunned down three preppers in their own home. No warrant, no charges, no knock.
The state maintains its power over the population by claiming a monopoly on essential services, from the state perspective preppers could support an entire community to defy the state and reject federal laws.
Having capacity IS a threat to the state, because making citizens dependent is the only way they stay in power
Stockpiling a moderate amount of food is a decent idea, but a better idea is actually having the skills and tools to survive something. It also doesn't hurt to garden.
you prep because there are forces beyond your control. among them being food scarcity. the world is 3 days from empty shelves at all times due to the nature of the way the logistics work
Not really. You're just using common sense, a thing that people started losing after the advent of the just in time system and grocery stores around every corner. But it also depends on your scale of prepping. You probably don't need an entire year's supply of food and other things, if not more, but there's no downside of having at least 1 month of various nonperishable supplies. At the very least you'll have food at home that you won't have to buy and you'll save some money due to inflation.
In November 2019, I accidentally overshopped on bulk packages toilet paper at a wholesale store. When the pandemic came & the TP shortage rolled into town, my dad & I were sitting pretty with over 60 rolls.
Prepping worked for me. Yesterday, I got another huge bag of rice, in case we do get a food shortage or hyper inflation.
Everything has always been fine. What made you think things would change? This stupid board? MSM? Your little friends?
Mainly the muh farms are being burned down and holodomor
Yea, no. Things are fine
This. Biden doing fricking nothing with his presidency is actually kind of working out right now.
muh farms are being burned down 🙁
drought leading to ranchers having to slaughter cattle means beef is going up in price
https://www.drovers.com/news/beef-production/bullish-2023-cattle-outlook
the whole country locked down for an apocalyptic virus and toilet paper was back on the shelves in a day
the most important rule of /misc/: nothing ever happens.
ever.
Prepper pics always make me feel comfy
better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it
self sufficiency > prepping goyslop
Yes all that expired shit is a b***h to go through, all you need is ammunition OP
>t. homosexual ass prepper
if you don’t rotate through your stored food you are doing it wrong. have pasta night, bake bread from scratch, replenish. it’s not hard
knives and swords are better in a post apocalyptic world as ammunition will be increasingly hard to come by
you'll get btfo'd by the sling and cardio build
stock up - keep it sealed - never waste it
are you going to hunt with your knife? kek, even with a spear you'd be worthless.
It depends on the timescale you're looking at. 50 years you'll almost certainly have been in the right for prepping, one months is way less likely.
Better to be raider than prepper.
You will be permanently maimed in your first week.
All you can do is cope and tell yourself you're safe, if your plan is to coop up in some building and wait things out you're in for a rude awakening. You're gonna pull some pro gamer moves and kill some families, but you will be crippled 100%.

You're a Canadian. Only thing you raid is your anus with a dragon dildo.
lol
Pathetic.
>preppers are prepared for dumb morons
Yea I guess it would be better to get shot like a moron and not have to deal with it at all.
Have a fallout shelter, potassium iodide tablets, medical supplies, gun, and months worth of food and water. Pretty much all you need in the realistic worst-case scenarios
imagine having enough guns for a small army but dying (alone) in 48 hours from fallout radiation sickness. couldn’t be me
I'm starting to think so. It's not so much a waste for me but there were plenty of people that were swindled into dropping their whole life to move into a shack into the woods. I don't even really watch Beat Independent anymore...

How to become self sufficient on a budget?
>How to become self sufficient on a budget?
It's never too late in the game to start. Discipline yourself and buy a little bit every pay period.
what would you do if you found a bag of cash worth 100k tomorrow?
Me, I would donate it to my local branch of the N.A.A.C.P.
Nothing different, I have over 100k in savings. Survival aren't necessarily dependant on how much liquid cash you have on hand.
>Did I get memed into prepping?
does it matter? when electric power fails for weeks due to buttholes shooting insulators out, that will be enough to collapse society as gas stations cannot pump gas, pipelines cannot ship fuel, and semi trucks can't transport food from production and distribution facilities where in turn, major stores send their semi trucks to obtain food to restock stores.

Don't live around Black folk.
we aren't allowed to unite, that would be racist and white supremacy
So don't prep then, it probably wouldn't have done you any good anyways better to just die instantly to Black person hordes.
Why would I ever prep when I know where an old friends commie prepper dad lives
He'll shoot you on site.
Make something.
than cancel any and all insurance you have.
the whole point is that you are prepared IF shit goes bad.

Yes, glowBlack person, everything will be fine. How silly to prepare for possible emergencies. Nothing bad ever happens.
whats the harm in being prepared?
if you are spending any amount of money that can be considered excessive, then you are doing it wrong.
you dont need to spend money on dedicated soup shelves or overpriced and overrated MREs or pre-packed emergency rations.
my stockpile is from things you can buy at any grocery store.
>Relying on the US Government and modern society to support you
Foolish
preppers have undiagnosed ocd, if it wasnt food you'd stockpile stamps, coins, cards, toys etc
Wow, sounds like you've got your finger on the pulse of what's happening in the now, anon.
It just is not going to save you. Prepping for what is coming would mean owning farm land in the southern hemisphere. You just made some looters day in the not too distant future.
Putting glass jars on the top shelves in preparation for nuclear war.
If you prepped your anus then I'll come over, if you get my drift. What I'm saying is that I'll frick your poop hole if there's no poop in it, if you know what I mean. What I mean is, I better not get any shit on my dick, homosexual
you are right anon, why dont you sell me your preps for 50% off
>I have a feeling that everything will be perfectly fine and we were all being moronic.
okay
The macro and micro reflect each other OP.
It's calmest before the storm.
I store a minimum of 18 months of estrogen just incase
Imagine how many cigarettes that could get you
I keep a list of every prepper I know in my area. They're the jackpot for looting when shit hits the fan.
SOCIETAL COLLAPSE INCOMING 2 MOAR WEEKS WE TRIED TO WARN YOU
>it will be just like my video games!
I spent literally thousands on canned goods, water, ammo & guns, and a bug out home in South Dakota based on pol’s and other right wing grifters advice. Meanwhile nothing is happening.
Fricking pol grifted me again
I heard PrepHole has great investment advice if you are looking to recover.

Explain the 50s then.
No you didn't frick up. Everything you bought then now costs x2 x3 x10 times as much.
