you had a crappy scoutmaster, we learned rappelling and woodworking, did whitewater rafting and a big canoe trip, I got to cut stuff with knives and started lots of fires, shot things with bows and arrows and guns, and learned a lot of honorable conduct type stuff that made me a better person today.
Not really worth the chance you'll be raped. Very reluctant to send my sons to scouts, especially in the current pridescape. Maybe if they started doing public executions for homosexualry.
Cubs is a little different. I'm my area it's a bunch of either yuppie or "higher level" tradie parents that want their kids (most are ADHD) to do something besides play video games every day. The parents are usually there at the meetings and there isn't much chance for hanky panky. The leadership is often about "power" in the organization. It's once you get to boy scouts that it gets questionable. It's still about power, but some of those guys will give you the creeps.
My kid's elemantary school has something similar on the playground for playing some kind of dodgeball game.
OP- I'm surprised the city let you build this, or that their insurer signed off on it. If this was an established, approved design, I'm sure "some of the support poles are different heights" and "all of the corners are left as pointy as possible" probably weren't in the specifications.
I'm sorry to break it to you if you're just a 17 year old kid, but I give it two weeks before the city tears it out.
“Any man who wants to play in the woods with a bunch of little boys has something wrong with him.” - my dad in the 80’s on why I couldn’t join the cub scouts with all of my friends. Turns out he was right.
It's sad male's don't really have places/ spaces for themselves. Scouts seems like a great thing if you scream and ignore the grown man wanting some boy hole. Anyway looks nice but that's a bit boring imo.
I'm not into the whole man-boy-love thing, so I wasn't a boy scout.
i was in cub scouts and i went to 2 meetings and then told my dad i didn't want go any more

If the parents are present, maybe we'll enroll. Good to know, thanks.
no photos as I did my project 15 years ago, but I planted and built an outdoor classroom using native trees and plants of texas
What is it?
If it’s a swimming pool, I think I see a flaw in the design.
It's a wiener fighting ring.
Whenever I wiener fought my scout leader he always won

why'd you put up the walls, it's like you made it specifically for homeless people to poop in. was hobo litterbox your intent?

Your dad is awesome.

I built a trail around this lake to dissuade people from trampling the area.
it looks sparse there. What is there to even trample? Rocks? Who cares?
Don't they allow girls in the scouts now?
