Police Bees

If these bees are going to be utilized as drug-detecting sensors for police departments, to replace the dogs with a more reliable animal, would they be considered officers?

If someone killed one of the bees could they be charged with assaulting an officer?

If you are from the EU or don't know about how this situation works in the US:
    https://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=96229

Police dogs are afforded special protections and its a felony to injure or kill one. They get their own badge and can theoretically arrest you

How's a dog going to read me my rights?

they only need to read you your rights to interrogate you, you don't have to tell someone their rights if you arrest them

when its jaws clamp down on a limb and it refuses to let go, the so-called bite and hold
        https://www.tnonline.com/20230222/man-charged-with-assaulting-police-dog-resisting-arrest/

At that point, if you fight back against the dog you are considered to be resisting arrest

yes and if it bites you for no reason(not that unheard of) they basically say too bad you shouldn't have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. if you try and fight the dog as its mauling you, you are likely to be executed by the handler, if you survive or are somehow not shot you'll likely have an assaulting an officer charge which as other anon said is a felony and theyll try to ruin your life. They also teach the "Drug sniffing dogs" to "signal the presence of drugs" on the handlers command so they can tear your car apart whenever they want. if they find nothing they just shrug their shoulders and go "welp the dog said there were drugs, we just were doing our jobs". The US has something called Qualified immunity for cops so if they do any of that or more to you they generally cannot get criminal charges, unless its a george floyd situation with nogs rioting in the streets and they are forced into ciminal prosecution-all you will usually be able to do is sue the city, meaning the tax payers of the city get to pay for it and their property taxes will go up to because the tax assessor will magically decide their house is worth more. As this point it seems easier to just shoot a cop the moment he starts walking towards you. Your life is going to get ruined either way, might as well make the process quicker.

There's no fricking way your public is so fricked to allow this. It's literally a basic instinct to fight an animal biting your hand.

Unfortunately Anon, in the US blacks have completely poisoned the well for anyone questioning the actions of police. For most npcs in the general public, anyone who says anything critical of the police is subconsciously assumed to be homosexual liberal or a criminal. Whats maddening is the "defund the police" morons are usually the first people to call the cops when something doesn't go their way.(ex. the whole rittenhouse saga). Also the moronic conservatives who say "when seconds count the police are only minutes away" (which is very true) and in the next breath tell you "Thin blue line, the police are here to keep us safe".

Rights are for communists and weaklings. A real man accepts his place in the hierarchy.

Rights and responsibilities are the same thing viewed from different angles. You can't have one without the other, and you can't be a man without responsibility.

Don’t these dogs generally get out down when they retire?

        Anonymous

Until the year 2000, it was common to euthanize police dogs after a number of years of service because the government felt that their training made them too dangerous to the public to keep as pets, but due to "Robby's Law": https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/106/hr5314/text

It is now prohibited to euthanize police dogs and they all have to be rehabilitated and given up to good homes.

if you want to be sure something will or won't be picked up just get your own drug dog to smell it

Drug dogs are useless anyway. They're wrong 50% of the time, meaning they're no more reliable than a coin flip. They basically exist to give police ~~*probable cause*~~ because statist judges have said that it's still a reasonable belief that the dog is right.

I remember a story a few years back of some uni students who wanted to get rich quick so they robbed an armory with body armor and grenades and they shot a police dog and it died. They were convicted of capital murder of a police officer and got like 75 years in state prison.

We've always made animals work for us. The idea of using them as a cheap source of labor only became foreign to us after the industrial revolution. Did you know there used to be a breed of dog whose sole purpose was to run on a big hamster wheel that turned a roasting spit?

So they put a live bee inside the scanner to live out the rest of its life in darkness, or is the OP pic misleading?

the bees are used for a period of about 5 days before being released, but eventually I could see them holding the bees for longer, if there was a way to keep them alive

apparently you can keep them alive for a month, with training as little as a few hours.

This. Looked into it about a decade ago when a Hong Kong company first brought this bee concept to market. The colony turnover periods, constant restraining, handling uncertainties, and inability to function during seasonal or inclimate weather makes them very impractical or fiscally sustainable.
