I remember the first time hearing "Kiss Me More" was returning to the barracks after a 12 hour night shift in a GOV during covid.... Someone on post reported us because the soldier riding shotgun wasn't wearing his mask
This song came out when I was in basic training and for whatever reason it always came on as my platoon got on the bus following lengthy training events. I never regularly listened to it (and it's objectively not an amazing song besides) but it always instantly brings me back.
Pretty much everything by Disturbed, The Game, & Eminem. Not because of the lyrics or artists, just because their music was popular among fellow soldiers & it's what we listened to.
People who were actually in the military don't say they "served" unless they are a moutherbreather that exclusively pushed paper, never made it past E4 and married the first landwhale they made eye-contact with them on leave
I had a Mexican PSG with a lisp and a thick accent and I was the unfortunate soul. Assigned to drive his Bradley at the time. >Ok Pwivate Anon, take this weft turn
Had a Sgt transfer from 10th Mountain, he was a frickin weirdo. Actually most of the guys from 10th were weirdos, what gives?
Any 10th Mountain troopers care to explain why you're all so weirdly into platoon names?
Different songs make me think about different stages I’ve been through in the army but F Song really sticks out to me since it was during a real low point in my life at the time. Things are much better now but it’s the first song that came to mind well that and Objects in the Mirror by Mac Miller
Unironically top pop and country hits from 2013, because that was what was playing all the time. It's the only set of music that I associate with the military because all other times I was listening to jazz or weebshit of my own accord.
>USMC >4 years and some change >2 deployments >First deployment was to CentCom, towards thetail-end of GWOT >US were in talks with Taliban (ironic) >nobody got any action >massive combat blue balls felt by everyone
This comes to mind simply because that's all i listened to at the time.
>fast forward through work up to next deployment >Okinawa >"this was more like a fricking vacation" -Some Gunny who had ONLY been on Combat deployments >he is indeed correct >only action was Marines fighting each other, going to soapland, and smashing that sweet sweet Oki local poon
some PFC in supply figured out how to bypass ID requirement for Tinder and such and spread info. Surprisingly, no rapes so guess the SAPR training kinda worked >Kin Town got locked down past 2100 (lol, lmao) cuz of fights
Prior to Kin Town being shut down and before overnight libo was secured, all japanese bars/clubs played modern Hispanic music and 2000's gangsta rap it was fricking surreal. Thought it was just cuz "Oki is more a large US base, than actually Japanese" but when we got overnight libo to mainland NOPE they love that genre of music i guess. these 2 songs in particular bring back drunken and sexual memories.
BONUS POINTS: never thought i'd see a Japanese teenager in an early 2000's "gangsta" outfit. Durag and all. There's also the time a banged a qt milf Jap bartender because i at least TRIED to speak Japanese but thats a story for a different time.
This fricking song blew up huge when I was in, and everybody was doing the dance all day. The next year South Park debuted, so I dealt with dozens of shitty Cartman impressions per day. Marilyn Manson's Antichrist Superstar album was also killing it in the mainstream at the time, so The Beautiful People was in heavy rotation, but the Manson song that actually makes me remember being there in the moment is Man That You Fear, mostly because of watching the music video of it in the run down shitty place I lived with my squad leader and his wife.
21 pilots. Not that I'm a fan, but my roommate would put it on speakers during field day. Now and then I'll hear their music and the smell of bleach and fabuloso fills my nostrils

No particular reason, just was obsessed with both of these songs when i discovered them. Reminds me of waking up at the cold asscrack of dawn for PT
Interesting question. Nothing comes to mind, to be honest. I didn't have much time for music, but when I did it was something that I already listened to for years before
This was always on the radio whenever we took a bus to whatever training site at benning back in like 2019. It's not what I usually listen to but the longer I've stayed in, the more the lyrics feel applicable to the average infantryman I come across and my feelings about it all. Infantry life is vaguely depressing and bittersweet
5 years in the Marines
Too accurate.
WHAT?

No I won't explain

>People who served
I remember when people did not use that phrase for having been a soldier or other
People who were actually in the military don't say they "served" unless they are a moutherbreather that exclusively pushed paper, never made it past E4 and married the first landwhale they made eye-contact with them on leave

Meme answer is "Bodies", because that song was fricking everywhere around the time the invasion started.
Not really music,
and also getting a GNAA frist psot on slashdot
I wonder what type of music and videos they are using for the moto videos. Is it all drone kills and tungsten rain these days?

Probably stuff from Odeza or other chill music. I would play music on my speakers and keep my doors open during the day.
I'm russian btw
Anything early-mid 2000s, Linkin Park, Prodigy, Wolfmother, stuff like that.

Give that stuff another listen. Maybe you'll get a pang of nostalgia you didn't expect.
