How are you attaching them? I've got like 30 /k/ patches with velcro but I used to keep them on my car. Now that I want them on my pack I dunno how to get it on without damaging the bag itself.

Depends on what you mean. I sew velcro backings onto the bag that I slap the patches onto. That will ruin waterproofing, but if you don't have that then sewing really isn't going to hurt your bag. But I also only put patches on that I'm not going to be removing until I retire the bag, limiting the amount of stress I put on the velcro and sewjob to only a handful of times of removing the patch for whatever reason. There are adhesive backed velcro backings that, if you plan to have a permanent patch until you retire your bag, I'd suggest sticking and then sewing on, but thats just me being paranoid that it might get ripped off while I'm hiking. I don't plan on removing the adhesive or threads ever, ymmv. I picked up cheap (<10$) velcro backings from walmart that I cut to size. Also picked up my first needle and thread there a week ago, so if you've never sewn and are worried that you'll damage something, you won't, don't worry.

I like iron on, because it's not like it prevents you from stitching if you like. I think stitching can look best, but the majority look like crap (mine included). I just put on packs or bags or stash them in a drawer.

Sew on, always. Iron on (while easy) will eventually fall off and leave a thick plastic residue behind.

that all depends on the seller, you can find ones with low minimums or simply pay a little extra to get a small amount made. go check it out.

you can do shopify which is like $30 a month a and gives you literally every single thing you would need to make an online business. if you're really broke you can just put an email address and have people contact you for the sales.
I have done both and they both work fine. I think people are more inclined to purchase from a legit shopify shop though.
another option is if you have a local shirt shop that does embroidery they sometimes are able to produce patches. sometimes you can get really cheap deals doing this with none of the hassle of talking to chinese people and paying outrageous shipping.
the minimums aren't 500. You can get as few as 50. Big Cartel is cheaper than shopify or squarespace.
most people on PrepHole prefer sew on or velcro backed.
I remember trying to get one years ago and you guys wouldn't tell people how to order them or who sold them or anything like that so you know what.
