it has two storeys, because::: it makes for a nice little stronghold for the cat on the upperfloor, since the upper flap only opens outwards, so the upper floor can only be accessed via the hole in the floor, through the lower floor.
how long do you anons think this thing will last?
also tips on how do I get rid of this thing? the person who wanted it originally isn't interested anymore 🙁
Spruce.
It's only around the doors that's it exposed though?
(Underneath the floor is a coat of varnish.)
Do you predict that the wood will soak up so much moisture as to bend and thus damage the tiles?
I think it's more likely the cats will chew the shit out of it before the weather does. All cat dwellings should be considered semi-disposable. Nice project OP, it's an unusual design that shows creativity and artistic inspiration. I like it.
totally. Am I missing out on something political when it comes to black+decker? It was the cheapest 45nm drill in the store, 100€ cheaper than the Bosch that isn't any better. +I already had a battery pack flying around at home.
On site the company provides the tools, so whatever.
They’re just shit tools. But really I was just giving you the business. If it works for you then go with it fellow cat enthusiast. Ignore the haters, including me.
Weird forearm flex OP, but idk why you're getting flamed for brand loyalty and building this for cats, usually PrepHole is properly based. Looks creative and well built, but personally I would need my cats more rugged to keep up my expected rodent holocaust. Kitty mansions are outta the question.
I'm not a meth junky, never even tried meth. I liked to do N2O for a while, but beautiful forearms don't chisel themselves with an impaired nervous system, so I stopped that quickly 🙂
You seem like a bitter person with an angry mind. I hope that in this life you can find some peace inside your head :-/
I think you might be sarcastic;
however I copied a bpd galpal and mixed that with some autism+schizophrenia.
Also moma kinda abused me growing up, thus I could aquire an unique blend of venomous insidiousness and heathenish naivety >:)
nice design, nice video, nice job. ignore the salty oldgays whose hands are too arthritic from standing at the buffing wheel 10 hours a day for minimum wage
My vote is stain under spar urethane for exposed outdoor wood finish and Redgard under the tile for exposed tile. Since the grout will absorb water and thus flood the thinset causing the wood surface that bonds to the thinset to absorb moisture, causing water infiltration to wood. Redgard acts as a water shield for the wood, but looks dark red. So Spar urethane if you care about seeing your wood.
I did a couple of mosaic tile garden tables with scrap tile. my process was build the legs out and mounts out of random scrap metal and a welder. Cut a cookie out of ply wood. Paint the whole thing in redgard then mount it to the iron frame and tile the mosaic. seems to hold up to weather and if you look at the bottom redgard is visible while the top and edge are tile mosaic.
Also, I got a couple cat carriers I leave out for stray cats to use as little warming dens. Then I got a couch cushion from a neighbors couch he was throwing out. Cut foam beds for inside and on top of the carriers and my gf sewed custom pillow cases around the foam blocks. They like to lay on top and cuddle inside when its cold. Gets them out of the wind and on a insulated surface. 1 cat liked it so much he spent a whole month laying on top without moving. Then it got cold and now I have to kick him off of my couch and chase him around for 10 minutes when I wake up to convince him were not friends and stop meowing at me.
I think from an architectural POV, the fact so many angles are all out of square it tricks a novice into thinking its about to fall over and made by a moron. Also the addition of tile seems like it just adds weight whereas you could have just stained and spar varnished to decrease the weight and # of out of square angles. The only point in Tile I can see is adding thermal mass, for a small heater like pic related.
Also cats get scared of the little PC fan that lives in these so it needs a small addition of a room the scary heater can live in by itself. Since cats are crack heads.
True yeah, seems that a cuboid must be the epitome of human intelligence to some.
I agree that using properly treated hardwood, on which a marble look is recreated with paints, would possibly be the smarter choice.
i like the sentiment and it looks like one of the statues that catherine ohara has in beetlejuice. i couldn't have this because it would become a skunk or raccoon house instead
Good lord a cat loon…I can smell it now
post forearms pussyhoe
So youre a cat freak that builds shit then brags about your jack off arm. I smell stale cigarettes and ammonia
I think we should just end this discussion with the simple accepting of me being the bigger nad more capable man than you.

There’s a lot of exposed, untreated wood. What species?
Spruce.
It's only around the doors that's it exposed though?

Do you predict that the wood will soak up so much moisture as to bend and thus damage the tiles?

Paint it immediately.
Thanks for the heads-up, I'll paint it!

That cat house is an extension of his contorted mind.

a skunk could camouflage itself well inside :3
