Opinion on Bauer?
I recently used their jigsaw, pole saw, and drill and I am very impressed. Their saw outperformed my DeWalt. Whos batteries continue to blow chunks and fail early. And the pole saw while weak did it's job, and is easier to handle that a gas chainsaw which vibrates hards and needs ear pro.
For the price it can't be beat. I'm thinking of dropping DeWalt. Their batteries are trash. Do not last. I can't afford Milwaukee.
But for $700 I can replace all my cordless tools, get 3 batteries and buy additional tools.
Also think about getting their 80v Atlas chainsaw and weed wacker.

Their batteries don’t even have BMS boards in them. That’s why they blow.

Ryobi is cheaper if you shop with the ever present sales, they have a better selection, far better warranty, and they work.

Bauer batteries don’t have a BMS*

Use more Bauer and you will realize it’s built to a much lower standard than DeWalt. You’re using ancient 18V NiCd DeWalt and trying to compare that, aren’t you?

I'm using 20v and an adapter for older 18v systems.
DeWalt batteries are trash. Bought a 5a a year ago. Won't charge to 3 bars, last 20 minutes, outside warranty. This is my 2nd 5a.
I only have 4 cordless tools that I use occasionally. That battery probably has less than 20 hours of use.
I don't care what faults Bauer has. The hf near me will exchange 3 yes old tools without a receipt. The teens working there don't care.
And each tool that I want, besides the impact is under $100.

Wait, so you’re using outdated DeWalt tools with an adapter and had one shitty battery and claim Bauer is good with that experience?

You’re as bad as the guys who own an M12 Stubby impact wrench as their only cordless tool because they’re poorgays who really wanted Fuel for cheap and go around telling everybody the stubby impact is so powerful that you will never need anything else and there’s no reason to buy 18V.

No, only one impact. Everything else is 20v. I had some old 18v tools. I don't use them really. They are all different size drills.
I don't have a lot of cordless tools. I prefer corded with a few exceptions.
I got corded sanders, miters, hand saw, grinders, polishers, all DeWalt. I've had a shit experience with all their cordless tools because of shitty batteries. Ive tried aftermarket ones. Not any better.

… and you had one battery that got unbalanced and would only charge to 3 bars so all DeWalt batteries are trash and somehow Bauer is good?

I find it hilarious that you of all people have the gall to call a strawman a poorgay, or call out posturing with the strawmans brand of tool choice.
The irony is not lost on anyone else

I saw Bauer on a real commercial job once. The guy using them definitely liked to spend the majority of his paycheck on crack cocaine as soon as he was able to cash it.

where are you getting 1 battery from? i already said im on my 2nd 5ah battery, the first one died outside the 1 year warranty. 2nd one i bought also fricking died outside its warranty.
i also have four 2ah batteries all of which wont charge to 3 bars and had dead cells somewhere, they just dont last. i exchanged the first batch back at home depot, it lasted 4 months before going bad again and the 2nd one i bought i swapped and returned the dead ones, again, 4-6 months later they wont charge to 3 bars.
before i got the 20v stuff i was using 18v batteries, all of those are a joke and stopped working completely after some time.
no i dont abuse my shit, i dont even use the batteries that frequently, the last 5ah i bought was used for less than 20 hours before going bad. is that the issue? it sitting in a charger for 3 months during winter?
i dont need job site approved shit.

Yeah, but will Bauer exist in five years?

What kind of stupid question is this?
        >will the main tool line from one of the healthiest and fastest growing brick and mortar stores still be here in 5 years?

You see, harbor freight spent the last 12 years building brand loyalty to the bauer battery tool line. They are totally going to throw it all away for 0 good reason in the next year or two!

Is the company gonna last though? With the big name brands you can at least know you'll be able to get replacements. Also FYI the batteries not lasting is a thing with all of them because batteries are where the money is. Especially when they change to a new battery system which means you'll have to get the new tool for that system or use an adapter that won't run as well

Also OP you can get batteries and tools repaired for cheaper than it is to replace them. The only problem is that it takes months since you'll have to deal with ordering individual parts from the factory and the guy fixing/diagnosing them having a backlog or the wrong part being sent

I feel like they do well enough. I guess I don't see hf phasing out of their battery tools anytime soon. Seems like they got their footing.

They were making record profits and growth before covid, having successful expansions and store openings. This was before they sold and shipped from their website. Brick and Mortar only.
During covid their sales exploded, and they started selling online to people who live in states where HF doesnt exist.

They have been eating other retailers alive for a while now, with no sign of slowing down.
Their reputation has completely turned around in the last decade

They are ok for the price. I wouldn't expect Bauer tools to last very long on a worksite but they are more than acceptable for most home gamers.

My setup. I love Bauer. Their batteries are like half the price as the big names. And they just released a 8Ah one.

I've beat the hell out of the corded angle grinder and it powers through everything I've thrown at it.

Though, I only use Milwaukee & DeWalt mostly. I give Bauer some props.

what warranty is worth even the paper it's printed on aside from Snap-on, MAC, Matco?

1, you just can't offer meaningful warranties on plastic garbage made in China
2, you just can't offer meaningful warranties to minorities (rhyme intended) who are pathological scammers who will angrily demand a full refund on a tool that they got in exchange for a carton of cigarettes from their cousin Lupito's landlord's son's bandmate's mother's best friend's attorney's dog groomer 10 years after purchase and then proceeded to plug into a 220 socket

Batteries aren’t cheap and Chinese electronics tend to fry themselves randomly. When you’re talking about DIYer use tools, a 90-day warranty fricking sucks because you might only need that cordless router twice in 6mos and it’s totally gay when your Bauer router gets a dead switch the second use or a battery cell shorts out the 2nd time you use the tool and you can’t find parts for the tool like a DeWalt or even Ryobi because HF offers the absolute minimum customer support.
