Operation Prosperity Guardian

The Royal Netherlands Navy is sending an air defence frigate to the red sea to support Prosperity Guardian. How many western ships will it take for the houthis to frick off? Or, how long will it take for the houthis to run out of missiles?

The Houthis will only start to frick off once you start to take out civilian infrastructure and starve the frickers like the Saudis did when they were still fighting in Yemen.

      >The Houthis will only start to frick off once you start to take out civilian infrastructure and starve the frickers like the Saudis did when they were still fighting in Yemen.

Their infrastructure consists of unpaved roads and crude mud huts. Every USN strike does several thousands of dollars of damage. I dont think it is going to work.

          >>the Houthis don't have C2 positions, fuel depots, supply depots, barracks, radars, signal positions, or warehouses for holding missiles

C2 position = some guy in a mud hut
fuel depot, supply depot = mud hut with jerry cans and canned halal chicken sausages
          barracks = a tent
signal positions = an internet cafe
warehouses for holding missiles = someones basement garage

Houthis are like the arab variant of Cletus Mcredstate.

A food blockade on land and sea would do it too honestly. The problem is separating the houthi, separatist and loyalist faction regions and only starving the houthi side.

There is not problem of separation. Destroy every port infrastructure and sink every ship that ever enters or leaves Yemen territorial waters. They dont want free sea trade to exist make their wish come true. And make it forever no changes in Yemen should change that, sea trade should be closed for that country to the end of times.

Sure, good luck transporting and staging that many drones without being detected immediately
        >That day will be marked by future historians as the day surface warships becoming obsolete.
Seeing as the planet is almost 3/4 ocean and the Arctic ocean will be a new trade route, surface ships are gonna' be more relevant to international trade than ever, and so will surface combatants.

To be fair, destroyers are already cope machines whose logic boils down to "if I make a cheaper, shittier battleship, it somehow won't be weak to all the things that made real BBs obsolete."
Like calling a Burke "destroyer" would somehow translate to pumping hundreds of them out over the course of 7 years like a Fletcher-class DD.

That's what they've been doing though anon, just via airstrikes. I'm actually pro-this-shit since it bleeds Iran harder than a simple one-day destruction of the Houthis. How many expensive IRBMs have they lost to coalition air defense? Those things are expensive. We're talking low millions per missile.

    https://www.rt.com/news/593916-houthis-yemen-fatalities-us/
1)all of them, including all the ones that were cancelled and never built, and scrapped since literally WW2.

2)never, not just Iran and Russia, but Red China, Indonesia, Brazil and probably even Mexico will supply drones, which currently cost about $1000 but that is dropping fast. Meanwhile, the missiles needed to take out the drones are about $500,000 but when you factor in cost of ship operations in the Red Sea, thats really about $5 MILLION per shot. A big part of that is how unpopular Israel is in the region, meaning this operation needs LOTS of extra "grease" to EVERY local politician to keep his horde under any control. I'd guess its well over $100 million a month just to keep the locals on either side of Seuz Canal from rekt any Western warships with RPGs and homemade rockets.

Only thing that is really going on is various Russian, Chinese, etc agents are monitoring Western air defense radar and missiles.
Big mistake made by West is not keeping lots of 2nd and 3rd tier equip in moth balls for this sort of thing and only has Gold Plated wonder-waffen that can't effectively sustain for long in combat.

They got a whole new class of "LCS" so whats the prob? 🙂

at this point I think the iranians genuinely don't have ACTIVE control of the houthis. they're enabling them in every possible way via arms and intel and officers and targets and blah blah blah but if you stopped all that the houthis would still be chimping because it's poltiically beneficial for them to chimp. they're the only real islamic group that's actually ''''''''taking a stand''''' against israel which is a very positive thing in the islamic community.

bombing iranians is always good though

        Anonymous

Nah, nonsense. The Bershad and the Iranian intelligence services are 100% providing targeting information and technical assistance to the Houthis. If the US can be accused of "running" Ukrainian operations by providing targeting the Iranians can be accused of exactly the same thing.

  10. 2 months ago

If you suggest that maybe Israel should just limit themselves to military targets only instead of bombing children and aid shipments, you'll get swarmed by a literal army of (brown) government shills and your post will get deleted. The houthis will keep attacking ships as long as the Israelis keep targeting civilians. It's that simple.
