On the so-called "Failure" of the Switchblade Drones

They're not failures, they're just being used on the wrong targets. Russian military positions are too heavily defended against such devices by ECM and other means.

BUT, that doesn't mean the Switchblade can't be used for a more effective role.

The Ukrainian military can unleash the Switchblade on a much softer target: the vulnerable Russian Logistical System.

It's a much better use. The Russians do not have the manpower to secure their rear lines, allowing such portable drones and their operators to sneak in.

Use the drones for hit-and-run strikes on the Russian logistical system, striking the supply convoys. Save the missiles and shells for the trains and depots.

Ukrainians have a talent for thinking outside the box. Use it.

TLDR version: Remember Iraq? Ukraine should use the Switchblade as a mobile IED on the Russian supply convoys.

I’ve read in the news that Ukrainians find the Switchblade "too complex". A valid criticism, these aren’t Westerners with high-quality training.

That sounds like a problem with the fricking User Interface. It needs to be redesigned. The weapon itself looks sound to me against logistical targets.

Post-script: personally I'd use a system akin to a GPS. Point at coordinates and send it there.

        Crude, but familiar and simple.

Not enough warhead size in the 300s to ensure less than pinpoint kabooms result in effects.

That defeats the whole purpose of what the switchblade was designed for. It’s meant to act as both a reconnaissance drone with the ability to attack targets of opportunity. Being able to manually guide the drones to targets, or cancel your attack if need be are critical to why switchblade exists

Aren't the Russians using jammers that frick up the Switchblade? You strike the targets that don't disrupt your attack ability.

We don't know, only information we had that 9 out of 10 switchblades are successful in either heavily wounding or outright killing it's target, often multiple targets at a time

Truthfully it sounds like it would excellent for insurgency warfare.

the only comprehensive video with switchblade in Ukraine there is has guy state completely opposite, that's it's simple as brick and easy to use

Can we get a translation on that infograph?

There was a video yesterday of Ukrainian military explaining switchblade, how it's being used, said its a very good stuff
Don't know why there's so few videos of them tho, but they are still getting into weekly US aid package so it must be useful

I think both could be true. There are still intelligent quality troops available, but Ukraine has also taken heavy losses and they are handing these weapons to low IQ morons.

Bruh, you are operating under false assumption. There was a video from switchable unboxing yesterday, which has now been removed by YT. Ukr operator said that 8 out of 10 launches result in a successful hit, sometimes with multiple casualties.

my guess is that a video of individual soldiers being targeted is much more personal than HIMARS strikes for example, and bad for PR. They were probably asked to not release them

He explained in the video, to record video you need to bring laptop that exists only to record switchblade videos, it's not required for operating it. Majority of those that use switchblades do not was to bring useless brick with them into combat.

To be honest I wanna see those things get released from a stealthy drone and in fully autonomous mode

    >spam self guiding cruise missiles at ammo trucks and arty tubes
    >refuse to elaborate
    >russian arty runs dry

They can try to put jammers on the trucks, too bad that implementing a home on jam feature is trivial

I wonder if a 300's warhead is enough to damage search radars to the point where they have to spend at least a few days repairing it by replacing 600's shaped charge warhead with a small one and some propellant/batteries you could have a portable walmart tier harop knockoff

God damn do drones give me a hardon
