Music festival “Tavrian games” (“Taвpiйcькi iгpи”) was a big thing as for a post soviet cultural scene and was being held in Kakhovka, not in Nova Kakhovka. There are three Kakhovka-s in total, all nearby each other:
        -the city of Kakhovka (the original one, former administrative centre);
        -the village of Mala (“Small”) Kakhovka (one of the suburbs of Kakhovka);
-the city of Nova (“New”) Kakhovka (new administrative district, the closest to Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant and situated 20 kms from Kakhovka, had one of the rare Ukrainian military bases in Kherson region, besides Kherson the majority of vatBlack person vermin is located here at the moment).
Everybody always confuses one city with another one: mass media, Ukrainian authorities, vatBlack person propagandists and now even PrepHole lol.
And despite what utter nonsense vatBlack person propagandists spew out, everybody here hated russia after 2014 and now the hatred is imprinted on a genetic level for generations to come.

it probably bounced on landing, it makes no sense to move it to be 'straight up' since the drone taking the pic can rotate to make any direction 'straight up'

                Anonymous

It’s a fricking picture, moron. It’s pointed straight up because they rotated it in photoshop. Hell, the turrets not even aligned with the furrows in the ground. What are you saying they aligned it with?

Nobody's moved that stuff. Imprint is from landing from above, it bounced a bit and found its final rest a bit clockwise. There is no 'straight up' in a huge open field. Rotate dat drone camera as much as you like.

                Anonymous

Also that turret weighs 12 tons, to move it you need a heavy vehicle and a crane, but there are no track marks. It just bounced real hard.

          Based Charlie Magne Poster

Girkin will never OPENLY side with Ukraine. But I suspect he's playing both sides against one another to hedge his bets.

His "respected Ukrainian partners" is a bitter mockery of Kremlin's post-2014 approach towards Ukraine, i.e. accepting their presidential elections, Poroshenko and so on, while Girkin feverishly cheered for full-on war, ukie genocide and conquest just after Maidan. Even now he uses word Ukraine mostly in quote marks or "former ukraine" or "so-called ukraine".

Nothing in him ever would lean towards ukie side, even if he appears to be praising ukie military resilience and grit more to spite the Kremlin that has betrayed his own empire-LARPer ego and ambitions.

I think they are going to assassinate him, anytime now

      Anonymous

Is he losing his mind, or is he quietly gloating at this point?
He watched these pen-pushers and thieves destroy the country for years, despite his objections. He killed so many civilians, and so many of them Russians - and for what? To let a bunch of moronic clerks from the propaganda and torture divisions get in power, purge the military of anyone genuinely patriotic, purge the oligarchs of any actual entrepreneurs, purge internal ministry of anyone law-abiding.
I think at this point Strelkov, like many others in Russia, is quietly hoping that the whole rotten structure collapses and the KGB clique are hung from the lamp posts in front of the Krelmin.

        Anonymous

Strelkov had a debate with none other than Navalny, and he did say that, despite working with and for the russian authorities, he had no respect for them.
So yes, I imagine that, as long as Russia survives, he'd be more than happy to see Putin and his gang hang.

You also have Ivan who is currently extremely drunk, and also the only truck driver around.
Command comes, spread the ammo somewhere.
You have no such places pre-planned or prepaired.
Your close commander was blown up last week.
Your communication systems use open civilian network.
You open GPS from your phone, and american glowies have helpfully premarked some nice location as suggestion where you should move your shit if asked.

Ukrainians are a disciplined, professional force. We trained them well over 8 years, and do their Soviet military tradition proud too.

Russians are a bunch of whining b***hes far from home. They are not used to being on the receiving end of artillery spam.

Think about it. When the last time Russians were bombed with Western precision weapons? It was pretty rare. Emphasis on "was".

That’s the thing, the Russians aren’t far from home. It makes the logistical cluster frick all the more embarrassing.

Russians are as "stupid macho" as they are delusional about their military capabilities. Logistics is for fricking nerds and losers to them.

Russia is a culture of artillery, not logistical experts.

When Ukraine masters American-level logistics, it truly will be a force to be reckoned with.

Truthfully? With a rebuilt MIC, the Ukrainians could probably do it one day. They have a clear gift for engineering.

Girkin can deny Ukriane's existence all he wants.

But the sad fact is, Ukraine is going to burn Russia's military to the fricking ground.

The choice is pretty damn clear. Russia cannot be trusted, it will use any ceasefire where it holds Ukrainian territory to wait for the right opportunity to try to conquer more Ukrainian territory.........so the only real solution is to smash Russia's armed forces so hard, they cannot invade Ukraine again.

And then Ukraine must make its military as powerful and professional as possible.

Goes to prove that there is very, very rarely a war where the belligerents are the *same*. The can be similar, but almost never are they the same types of people, mindset, and culture. The Russian is a spoiled, pedantic, tantrum throwing monument to Dunning-Krueger and reverse cargo-cultism. Whatever Ukrainians are, they're at least proving pretty indisputably to not be those. If anything, they're fricking master-trolls and we should all learn from them lmao.

Ukraine should cultivate a healthy surveillance network. Find the targets the Russians manage to hide from overheard view.

This is really satisfying. The Russians can really only passively attempt to adapt to their new reality, because I really can't think of a single direct military counter available to them. Not one. And I doubt they will adapt well.

The only reasonable option is for their navy to be on 24/7 standby to launch their remaining Kalibr missiles the second Ru command confirms a HIMARS location. But this means more time in the sea, meaning more threats from Harpoons. Even if they hit an M142 or two... Ukraine can just get a new one from Poland the next day.

Dictators can mobilize an economy and lead to a short term expansion, sort of catch up with the rest of the world if the nation is behind. But when they reach relative parity and have to create and innovate themselves, that's when they usually stop.

These strikes are achieved by throwing a massive concentration of Smerch/Uragan fire at air defense so the fabled HIMARS can get through. Because otherwise they get shot down. Its literally a suicide tactic and they are expending their ammunition and revealing artillery positions to score a propaganda victory for the US

If you think 8 rocket trucks can have a meaningful influence on a war theater you are the absolute NPC.

They fly at Mach 2.5 no? If Russian air defense, designed to shoot down jets that have a max speed of Mach 2.25+, they should have no fricking problem shooting these down. Especially when you see anything on radar, you know, going past BM-21 range.

Took long enough, but we got ourselves a coper. S-400s can't even intercept HIMARS. They don't need a suicide screen of other ballistic missiles, the primary volley of M31s will more than suffice. And yes, 8 fricking rocket trucks are enough to pull serious shit if you fricking understand what capability this gives the Ukrainians, how they've opted to employ them, and how utterly inept Russia is at war when they have to contend with longer ranged, precision artillery. You don't need Soviet numbers if you know where to hit, and can hit that spot accurately and very hard. Also spoiler: they'll be getting even more, and probably PrSM, as well. Fingers, toes, and nuts crossed for ATACMS by fall.

        Anonymous

The winning question for ATACMS procurement is if NATO is willing to let Ukraine use them to strike targets within Russian borders. They clearly don't care if Ukraines pre-invasion weaponry is used to strike Russian soil, but seem really cagey about their own equipment doing the same. I don't see ATACMS being used for many targets within Ukraine apart from border regions, but even that barely stretches ATACMS' legs.
If they get ATACMS, we can all but confirm they'll use it to strike targets in Russia.

          Anonymous

ATACMS is for one target I'm sure: Crimea.

          Anonymous

I get the cageyness around having ATACMS strike Russian targets, but as each day passes I'm increasingly in a "frickem" state of mind. Still, rationally, that would open an uncertain new dimension to this shit that no one *really* wants to see play out. But like

ATACMS is for one target I'm sure: Crimea.

said, ATACMS would be beautifully useful for any serious move Ukraine might wish to undertake in Crimea. That's way off in the distance as of now, though. I mean I'm fairly sure PrSM should be able to do the trick on Kerch, anyway.

Russian military bloggers being suppressed by the Kremlin now, lol. Putin doesn't want to hear how bad things are.

Fighting Cat Murz, a former rebel fighter based in Donetsk, went further. He wrote on his LiveJournal blog that Russian military commanders were incompetent for not moving vital ammunition supplies out of range of Western-supplied long-range artillery.

“Our army is led by a bunch of untrained morons,” he wrote on Saturday. “Stupidly vile, miserable, vindictive, petty, thieving lemmings.”
