History classes in America have always been pretty shit for anything following 1783. Oh sure they'll cover the war of 1812 dimly, and all of the atrocities of the civil war with none of the events leading up to and following it, and maybe even mention that World War I and II happened with vague reasons why, but not much beyond that. I remember how fricking stoked I was in high school and we were finally getting up to the prelude to World War II. Sure WWI was basically just a day talking about the Archduke and Germany getting BTFO, but this time it'll be different. But no, it was just the highlights like if you were explaining history to a fricking alien.

In a hundred years this will be covered about as well as the conflict in South Ossetia is today. Which is to say, not fricking at all.

You stupid Black folk. I said nothing about public school in the US.

History regarding certain ages, or regions are generally taught either in schools where the geographic region where it occurs, or in college.

        It'll still be taught

Of course I was exaggerating, perhaps I was not clear enough. There are of course more exacting and specific courses that cover any matter of things, for example World War II. If you told me you learned about Market Garden in anything other than a specialized class for it however, I would be immensely surprised. Similarly, I doubt this war will ever be taught in any sense except in Ukraine itself or in universities regarding how it was one of the many precipitating events leading to Russia's second collapse.

American history classes don't even teach the War of Independence correctly. It is portrayed as the weak and pathetic underdog USA defeating the global spanning British Empire at their height all on their lonesome when in fact, the British Empire was barely anything of note at that time, the revolutionaries had France, Spain and Dutch Empires on their side, had Poland supplying them with trainers, generals and supplies and even Indian (as in Poos) kingdoms on their side. Meanwhile the Bongs had.... Prussians. Sort of. It isn't portrayed as 'French, Spanish and Dutch laid waste to the British colonies around the world and raided the transport of supplies and troops to North America which ultimately allowed the Revolutionaries, backed by 10,000 French veterans to defeat local garrisons one after the other whilst public support for the war died in UK' nor does it go 'The Revolutionary forces outnumbered the British globally in North American alone'.

Hell, Oklahoma tried to pass a law making it a crime to teach accurate history if it 'portrayed America in a bad light'.

                This is incorrect.
The available scientific literature strongly supports the hypothesis that rich people, on average, tend to live longer, happier and healthier lives than the less fortunate, with the benefits increasing the more money you have. Meanwhile poor people die earlier and suffer numerous health issues, both physical and mental, at rates far higher than the wealthy due to factors such as increased stress, poor nutrition and reduced access to physical and mental healthcare.
"Money can't buy happiness" is a lie propagated by rich arseholes to keep the poor and miserable in line, it has no basis in science.

Using old and busted helmets is the least sinful thing the Ruskies are doing.

They even managed the Brusilov offensive, one of the most lethal campaigns ever waged. It was a stupid fricking idea to do it, but damned impressive that they succeeded like they did.

        >Russia doesn't even have enough Cold War era shit that the Soviet Union stocked up on and is now having to dig out WWII shit
I know the Russian military has irrefutably been a joke since the collapse of the Soviet Union, but has that much of their newer gear been stolen/sold off? It's starting to feel like even in the event of a Cold War gone hot scenario, Russia's performance would still have been disappointing, and that the only reason the Soviet Union was ever a significant threat to the US was their nukes.

        You forgot a few things.

        1. Civilizational Collapse

        2. Mass sell off of gear during the 90s and 2000s.

        3. The most severe and endemic culture of corruption ever seen. The kind that can ONLY happen when the enforcement apparatus decides that corruption itself is the new party line.

All these things mean that the Russian military has quite literally been robbed to death. Raped to death. Which means that a direct comparison between the USSR's capabilities and Russia's is just plain wrong. The only example I can think of for comparison is comparing Austria-Hungary's military in 1913 to Austria's military in 1928.

        >Soviet Union was ever a significant threat to the US
Yes. Conventionally speaking....the USN maintained a severe overmatch for the entirety of the Cold War. Red Dawn is a shitastic movie for a number of reasons, this being one of them. The 'threat' was that the USSR might economically integrate with Europe and feel able to relax its conventional forces and begin economic and technological advancement.

Stalin's proposed idea was a neutral and completely disarmed Germany. He didn't care much about the rest. Thing is, had he been more aggressive, and acknowledged just how shitty and spiteful Washington DC was desperate to be, Stalin could have easily sent forces to occupy or 'assist' Turkey during the war like he did with Iran and openly invaded Greece during the war as well.

Then post war, December 1945, the Red Army could have swept into Germany for the explicit purpose of "Assisting the Anglo-American evacuation". Frankly I think he should have done that and than finished up with liberating Italy.

The Russians may cosplay as WWII USSR, but it's pretty damn clear the Ukrainians grasp the actual Soviet operational art far better.....to the point they've actually improved and modernized it.

When I said that Russia is a 40K-esque feudal mafia state larping in the ruins of a far more advanced Society (the Soviet Union), everyone laughed at me. They're not laughing anymore.

Wouldn’t they just use the SSH 68s?

I’m sick of this gay propaganda, Russia has no doubt a million + modern helmets and millions of Ssh 68s or old titanium Soviet heavy helmets. Same goes with AK 74s

Russia isn’t “ forced to use Mosins and WW2 “ helmets. I’m pretty sure the donbabwe militias just use any shit they can find and the Russians keep all the actual surplus at home

Not him, but ruble is surging, and the EU is on the brink of financial disaster.

          >Not him, but ruble is surging
And it can be spent on nothing because of sanctions. Too much money chasing too few goods is the definition of hyperinflation.

          >and the EU is on the brink of financial disaster.
With the rest of the world. The recession will hit everyone when it comes, and the indicators are in place. This isn't from sanctions as much as it is from covid, because we're coming off of the "effect lag" stage of Biden's (mostly) & Trump's (as well) choices and bills signed while in office.

          Effect lag:
          https://www.britannica.com/topic/effect-lag#:~:text=The%20effect%20lag%20is%20the,investment%20may%20be%20between%20one%E2%80%A6

            Except, y'know, Russian commodities.

            >With the rest of the world
Germany's in a trade deficit for the first time since the wall fell. That's not just a recession.

In what universe is the Ruble surging? Currencies are on a downtrend globably right now except for USD, do you know why?

            Anonymous

The rubble is back to 65 rub/usd and these morons think it's because Russia's economy is "surging" and not just because the Russian government is preventing people from actually selling rubles (and in fact forcing people who get paid in USD to buy).

Same as with every failed authoritarian state on Earth (Cuba, Venezuela, etc). USD on the black market are likely worth 3-4 times that much. Russians are actually resorting to buying fake western passports in order to be able to open virtual credit cards in western countries, lmao.

funny thing is that Ukrainians still make more when you adjust for cost of living.
Russia is such a shithole that even with the rising ruble value its easier to live in Ukraine, war aside.
This is just going off of public data as well, since Ukrainians under report how much they are paid.
The ONLY thing cheaper in russia is gasoline, by 20%

Try buying a US dollar with rubles and tell me how much it is surging

          >but ruble is surging
Exports weren't hit at first and only imports. Not to mention Russian government taking tighter control. Now that exports are starting to fall ruble is following.

Man russians could have made a killing selling off all of this vintage gear to the west instead of breaking open their vaults of cosmolin and wasting all that shit
