New deserttech Wlvrn having issues

Apparently the newly released DT Wlvrn is a having major issues like regular FTF with most brands of ammo and the gun is is unseating and dropping magazines while firing.

Is there a reason why this company just can't release a working design?

Genuinely don't understand why people treat rock in like it's literally Satan
Yes, it's a little fiddlier, but you won't get issues like mags falling out

Because they sell gimmicks. The gun is made of plastic, if you can't see they're cutting corners and don't actually care for quality you're blind.

    >dropping mags
what if it's due to the polymer expanding in heat? that would be funny considering the name

I posted that link in /brg/, fwiw other people say they don't see that issue or they see different ones, so apparently it's QC not universal similar to the MDR and MDRX. I've never had a mag drop in my MDRX, though the forward eject is very finnicky on gas.

The real problem isn't any single thing it's that they did a whole major rebrand, gave up on a few cool features like FE, and still weren't religious about at least making sure the first 1000 guns were damn near perfect. Hell even they needed to charge more so they could hand test with 500 rounds random 10% sample of the production guns or something extreme, they blew their chance. If they'd called this the "MDR3" which is what it basically is, and set expectations accordingly, then the evolution maybe wouldn't be so bad. Like, it is indeed much lighter, great ergos, and so far really does look to have much much better accuracy to the point where it may be the most accurate 30cal semi bullpup ever made. It's frankly weird how they've gone about it though.

moron. Micron is awesome, and a mono top rail isn't needed with a solid enough attachment system and metal as the Tavor shows. If anything the real weird thing is them not having more Micron options day 1 now that the gas block is no longer attached to a rail section.

I wonder what it's like to work there. Many quality issues I've seen at work (from both myself as a designer and from others) come from people crumbling after being pushed to meet unrealistic goals with no chance to renegotiate or be reinforced. Some others have come from just not knowing what you're doing but having to get _something_ done regardless.

No idea. 3rd hand word was some of it came down to poor choices in outsourcing, they sent stuff to get made via India MIM to save money or go faster, but didn't have the QC processes to go with it. Doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad place to work, I've seen lots of good startups frick themselves by grossly underestimating what is needed to do mass production in asia. You simply can't just order something made in CAD and expect to get it perfectly to spec every time, that's not how it works. You're trading one thing for a lot more QC on your side and tweaking your designs to work with their processes and be tolerant of issues.

That said that'd be more understandable for like, the first 5 years as they scaled. Lots of new companies run into scaling problems I've seen it a dozen times. However they should have long since (last few years at the very least since they did a mea culpa) ironed it out, and obviously doing a full rebrand like this should mark the time you think you've got everything set and want to make a clean break with previous branding. So yeah something is just wrong with leadership, dunno. It all feels oddly rushed and executed, there is no clear reason they couldn't have just called it
          >3rd gen MDR, now much lighter and more accurate, we're still working on improving QC with the new design but we've also greatly improved our warranty practices if you buy the gun in the first year and have any issues we'll 2-day ship it back and forth to fix it thank you for helping us
And set expectations accordingly. Instead they treated it like a whole new gun, had a delayed launch that was half-assed in weird ways. Little things like their new website lacking descriptions it had before still, or where to find the fricking manuals or whatever. I still think it's kinda dumb to not just switch to aluminum handguards by default as well at that cost. It's not a clear universal upgrade, AND they didn't nail the qc, so for what purpose?

According to this thread on barfcom the accuracy seems to be the same as the regular MDRX, which isn't great nor terrible but typical when it comes to bullpups, so it doesn't look like anything changed accuracy wise

A bunch of other reviewers and anons have been reporting much better groups then anyone reliably got with the MDRX, which was like a 1.5-3moa gun. Guess just have to wait for more data.

Though wouldn't surprise me if it turns out to be yet another QC fiasco like stovepiping or mag dropping, some people get the advertised single moa performance, others get hot garbage, except if you end up with a 2moa gun you're probably not going to be able to get any warranty service for it unlike something obvious like it being jam-o-matic. That was the ironic silver lining when I had an MDRX problem: it just fricking broke, completely. Seized up brand new out of box. Which on the one hand is bad but on the other hand meant no debate about it being busted or not so straight back it went at their expense which was good.

that would require them to be a gunmaker first and a money laundering operation for their cult second.

It's literally a rebranding with different parts, but the same issues it always had.
