Myanmar War

So it looks like the rebels have taken a lot of territory outside the central area of the country and the military can't whackamole fast enough, the media can't be bothered, and no one is paying attention to the most significant conflict currently happening in SE Asia.

>Meanwhile on /k/, tourists have taken over, posting PrepHole threads about Hollywood's latest meme movie plot

The junta recently moved Aung San Suu Kyi off the hook into house arrest, again; probably for their insurance policy just in case they need just another convenient photo-op of "peaceful transfer" of power, again. They're that desperate I'd reckon.

Rebels seem better just because junta are moronic strongman caricatures. Any new government could easily turn into commie frickfest though considering proximity to china.

which do you consider rebels; the ones who overthrew the democratically elected president and are now in control, or the ones fighting against them.

I'm somewhat suspicious of the motives of the chinese who are supporting some of the rebels.

Many of the Karen rebels are Christians (also featured in Rambo 4):

Buddhists too. They're hill people who go way back and have fought the Burmese for ages who they see as oppressors and interlopers. It goes on to this day and one reason why the generals haven't been able to wipe them out is their skills in jungle fighting which goes back to supporting the British against the Japanese during WWII.

Myanmar people did nothing when the Rohingya were being massacred by the government and you expect people to care when the rest of the country gets fricked up? Even if the Junta is removed the place is going to degrade into score settling and massacres

Rohingya and Ughurs must be genocided to the last. Maynamar is for racially asian people and asian people, who are a threatened species, must not be displaced in their own homeland by disgusting caucasoid gypsies.

Weird timing for this thread, I just got back to looking at this conflict yesterday to see how things are going and it looks like the collapse of the junta is inevitable. Myawaddy (Major city on the thai-myanmar border) just fell and the rebels keep drone bombing and raiding any convoys the military tries to keep sending to try and reinforce their areas outside the capital.

The other day I watched a few gore videos from them like junta soldiers burning 2 rebels alive and rebels ambushing cops and etc.
Turns out it is a very serious and a huge war for survival going on out there. I'd say much worse than palestine or ukraine in my opinion.
Also it is some ethnic minorities defending themselves (some are muslims that are really in worse condition than palestinians).
But no superpower or international organisation gives any flying fricks. Really makes you think that all those jihadists and allahusnackbars would try to do something to help their brothers in asia.

I think one of the deals the PDF/NUG made with the different ethnicities after being deposed is that Myanmar would turn into a very loose federation with every ethnicity essentially having it's own country to control. So post war Myanmar might look like a slightly more centralized EU.

Why is the junta failing? Is it because they can't get gibs from Razzia now?

Yes, but also because the rest of the planet hates them and are most likely supporting the rebels by either supplying them or turning a blind eye to guns and supplies being smuggled there.

China stopped supporting them because the junta was running scam call centers scamming Chinese citizens out of billions of dollars to fund the junta.
