Im thinking of trading my minty /k/ memed collection of firearm's and replace them with one sold Battle rifle. What should I get? Thinking an AR15 with either a b***h scope or thermals
>Anyone also feel their collection isn't up to the job ?

Never sell guns.
agreed. i've sold guns and I mostly regret it. but instead you should save up to get your battle rifle OP
My Springfield import FAL shit itself spectacularly ony first range trip because some moron stripped the threads on the return spring tube.
Previous owner opted for fricking epoxy instead of just replacing a $25 part.
My girl was in my ear the whole time "JUST SELL IT!"
They will never understand.
>Never trust a gun you bought out of Utah.
OP doesn't own any, so he's got that one covered
You don't understand, he's been sold a fantasy by hypbeast guntoober homosexual salesmen.
I've sold guns and didn't regret it. It all depends on what you're selling. Only gun I regret getting rid of was my 2" Model 10-7, but I gave it to my cousin as a birthday gift and he enjoys it, so I only mildly miss having it.
I got a crazy deal on a pair of gaypuled RAS47s around 300 a piece. Sold them both to some guy during covid for 1700. Guess I should've kept them.
Yeah, destroy them instead.
>Battle rifle
PTR, unironically.
>But I don't like it
I don't even know who makes a decent AR-10 that doesn't break. If you can find one, buy that.
>Aesthetic
FAL or Zastava M77 depending on how much you want to spend on magazines.
>Full boomer
Fulton or Bula M14, never touched either, go with god.
Ruger SFAR is considered one of the best AR10s to get atm. It's a cheaper, sleeker looking version of the POF AR10 that has an AR15 receiver. So basically a shorter receiver AR10 that should keep your OAL shorter.
PTR91 is also a good choice. Cheaper and more solid than am aluminumshit AR that can't shoot steelcase.
>has an AR15 receiver
*has an AR15 size receiver
The upper and lower are proprietary to be the same size as an AR15 upper/lower, so it's not SR25 or AR10 pattern. It's its own pattern but it's a good one that seems like it'll stick around for a while.
I've read that some 7.62x39 uppers have thin bolts that break after a while because they're based on a 5.56 bolt instead of a .308 bolt. Does the Ruger rifle have this same problem but with .308? I've been looking at them myself but don't want a rifle that will shit itself over time
I have no clue but that's a good concern. Probably not hard to find a review where someone pulls the guts out of it vs a different rifle, then look at the bolt faces. It's not 1:1 with an AR15 upper which is what companies tried to do with a lot of 7.62x39 uppers.
Most people get the PTR91 GI or GIR. The GIR has the welded top rail. I'll tell you now to get the top rail, it's the sturdiest and lowest profile way to mount. You pay like $30 more instead of $300 more for a claw mount. HK shit is expensive except for G3 mags which are miraculously some of the cheapest mags of any gun. They have some other models that I think have better barrels, some have lighter profile barrels and polymer receivers to save weight. Just read the products pages on their site to see the differences.
General rule is if you're an AK/reliable slavshit guy get a G3, if you're an AR/tacticool guy get an AR10.
>Ptr91
What are the differences between all of the ptrs? Which one is best?
all you people reccomending PTRs over an AR-10 or SCAR for a tacticool battle rifle are moron
I say this as someone who likes G3s
having owned a PTR91 I'd go with an AR-10 style rifle.
>mine was jam'o'matic POS
>parts are way more expensive than an AR-pattern
>ergos are kinda fricky compared to an AR or even an AK
>muh WWIII
Imagine seeing the last year in Ukraine play out, and still thinking you want to be some DPR/LPR or Wagner equivalent cannon fodder rather enlisting.
WW3 means nukes, the current war is nowhere near a world war.
From whom? Russia? China?
This, prepping for voluntarily existing on a battlefield without professional training and being part of a larger, well organized professional force is fricking moronic. Even if you aren't fighting, the massive number of civilian casualties from bombs and artillery in Mariupol (that were at least equal to the total number of military combatants in the area) should clue people in as to how terrible of an idea sticking around is.
The SKS is one of the most solid rifles ever made, the VZ is basically a modernized version of it, the Makarov is THE most reliable pistol ever made, the Skorpion would make a good concealed rifle/SMG under a jacket, and the Tokarev is soft armor piercing.
You sir, don't know what ya got. If you must modernize, you're lacking in a .308 so an AR chambered in that would be worth it. Getting another intermediate (especially in gay .223) wouldn't be as effective of a weapon.
Agreed. I'd say get an AR10 in 308. Then get custom wood furniture to match it.
Where would an anon get custom wood furniture for an ar10?
After watching this Video Ive come to the conclusion we are all going to war. SO I need a realizable battle rifle with a b***hin scope and or Thermals!
>This may be too much information for some smooth brains!
You don't own any guns ESL, stop kidding yourself
smooth brain
Remember to think ahead. The guy that kills you and loots all your stuff in the event of WWIII will probably want some first aid gear and plenty of ammo. Maybe even some food nd water.
Thats why I want to narrow it down to a sidearm and battle rifle. Carry everything on me.
>They only want the energy bar and tourniquet
That picture is so fuddy, I love it.
Theoretically, you could arm allies/friends or use them for future trade. Selling them now is foolish.
Get an AR15 you dumb frick
>reliable
>precise
>most common rifle
>most common parts
>most common ammunition
Plus you can tactically aquire replacement parts and ammunition for it
You’d be daft to not have an AR15 be your SHTF gun
You want an AR15 for engagegements
A 9mm pistol for back up
A suppressed .22lr for hunting small game
There are many things wrong with getting a .223 rifle designed for suppressive fire as a civilian. The military finally admitted it was a shit decision even for military applications and dropped it. Battle rifles are back baby, and I don't see .277 Fury taking over the civilian market any time soon. .308 isn't going anywhere, it'll always be a popular hunting round and it's relatively cheap with lots of relatively cheap rifles to choose from. Drop the pussy round and grow a dick.
carrying 120 rounds of .223 will always be prefersble to carrying 120 rounds of .308 while scavenging noob
Why would you even need suppressive fire in a SHTF scenario when you don’t have squad elements that can use the suppressive fire to flank and engage?
You should concentrate on being mobile and having good optics
>concentrate on being mobile and having good optics
Yeah homie, Im thinking a 20" AR15 with a long range hunting scope or ACOGS!
It's not about the power of the caliber, it's about the availability.
You're wrong - its about sending a message.
>many things wrong with getting a .223 rifle designed for suppressive fire
>20lbs of 7.62 x39
600 rounds
>20lbs of 5.56
850 rounds
>20lbs of 5.45
950 rounds
>20lbs of lightest M80 ball .308
a meager 380 rounds, not even in the magazine
shut the frick up Black person
>7.3lbs of .22LR
1000 rounds
cool illegal sbr
aint mine and even if it were, just put a frickin 10/22 takedown barrel on it
>not being a FPC member and part of the injunction
lol
lmao, even.
>implying you will ever be in a squad-level fire and maneuver situation
>implying you wouldn't be better off with more bang per round
.223 is just as, if not more, damaging under 200 yards as ANY other FMJ cartridge. Considering most engagements will likely be in that range, and those being the most import to win quickly, .223/5.56 is the perfect civil defense/SHTF rifle caliber.
Just get a 16” barrel or longer, don’t fall for the SBR meme.
I'll be outclassing you at distance and shooting through the wall you thought was cover, moron. As stated before, there's a reason the military said frick 5.56
the reason they said frick 5.56 is because procurement is always fighting the last war more effectively. they're anticipating conflicts with more open ground, or mountains with long sight lines. you don't find a lot of that in Appalachia or cul de sacs.
>gets spotted by a recon drone and taken out with heavier weapons because he chose to pick a fight with an organized group of people at ranges where he could have just as easily walked away
There's pretty much no reason for combat to take place at beyond 200 yards if you're not dealing with large organized groups like the military does.
Uhhh what are our uniforms so we can identify each other at 500 yards? Or are you just going to be shooting everyone you see?
Your white skin. Pull up your sleeve for identification. It's actually a badass gesture too.
Pic rel in the helmet
>even vaguely considers SHTF
>doesn't have at least one basic AR-15 and G19/clone
Are you fricking moronic my dude.
>G19/clone
Id rather have the Tokarev i battle then a Glock!
>Muh shtf
You have a concealable handgun and something larger that makes loud noises thats all you need as a civilian as if its really shtf you'll be worried about your fellow citizens stealing your food or alcohol.
>pic straight off google images
>very poor english
>space before question mark
hmm
Why do slavic guns look so cool?
Solid steel, utilitarian, not made by homosexuals.
I love AKs too my man but you have seen all those videos of vatniks raping each other right?
Yeah but they're not gay homosexuals, I was talking about the western flamboyant feminine gay homos.
Lift more lowtest.
It's a perfectly fine choice. Make sure you get one with a paddle release and the only thing it lacks is a LRBHO feature which AKs and other reliability focused rifles lack anyway. Brand new G3s have a hard break-in period, at least 100 rounds before it stops jamming. It means you got a good one with tight tolerances moron.
>Yeah but they're not gay homosexuals, I was talking about the western flamboyant feminine gay homos.
Based, a hetero chad can love men, not in a gay romantic way, just physically.
Yeah, you need one solid fighting SHTF rifle. If you expect a long drawn out war. Get an AR15. If you expect periods of fighting, or riots, get something in .308. Your AK is durable, but it's lacking options. Mid West Industries sell an upgrade package of parts for your rifle. Easier than buying a whole new $1800 rifle.
What ak?
There is no AK-pattern rifle in OPs pic, fren
Buy a Saiga 308, round out your collection.
Solid collection, this is acceptable as is. Maybe get an AK to complement the VZ and SKS. How much weight do you want to sling?
Pretend your between Tucson AZ and Santa Fe NM and you car broke down with all your shit in it and now you have to walk through the desert hundreds of miles and are not sure if you will live another hour. Most of the walking will be done at night.
>Id say pretty light but self sufficient!
>pretend you're an absolute moron and decided to take a 500 mile road trip at the worst possible time and your car broke down so you need to make it the rest of the way by foot, so rather than worrying about the massive amount of water you're going to need to be rucking not fricking die you want to ruck heavy combat gear in case you get into some action packed direct combat that you should be avoiding at all costs
>posts a picture of a fricking plate carrier with what looks to be 48 12 gauge shells which weigh another 5 lbs strapped to it, plus god knows what else
Absolutely NGMI.
>pic
that rig probably weighs a gajillion pounds, but it makes me diamonds.
hot pic, but you are ngmi if you try and ruck that.
>Solid collection, this is acceptable as is
But you can only take what you can carry which would be one rifle and one sidearm
Would the SKS and Tokarev be the best option?
Guns are no substitute for skill
Even you SKS is useful with a scope
Idk about WWIII though, sounds like nukes
For an armed insurrection in a first world nation, sure
You really only need one good rife, and maybe one good sidearm
If you have extra rifles and sidearms, well it's your 2A right to form a militia
Just don't think about it in terms of "what will I do by myself"
Because you can organize in arms, it's your 2A right
That is what makes the whole Patriot thing possible
>Even your SKS is useful with a scope
And for deer, and with irons if you are a great shot
Sell everything and buy nods, a basic b***h ar-15 with nods compatible optic, and what ever poly 9mm pistol you prefer with holster. Then buy used body armor with what ever is left over and you will become a terminator compared to most Americans. You do cardio too anon.... right? Be sure you also have plenty of mags and ammo, because you do train as well anon... right? Also don't forget you need emergency medical equipment, you know how to apply a tourniquet... right anon? Also is there free food in wwIII?
>Also is there free food in wwIII?
Yes in the FEMA extermination camps, enough food to last the rest of your life :^)
Nice collection
I kept my vzed and acquired some meme guns
Maybe add a wonder 9 in there somewhere, too
Sometimes you can't carry a rifle
rifle is fine
just shot someone with better equipment then just take their shit
The only doomsday weapon you need is a flintlock smoothbore
