some third-world police/special forces use them with their M203s (they do the same thing with their G3s)
this picture is Malaysian special forces, but its also appeared in places like Mexico
These are the only humans you can kill in the castrated German version of HL1, all the Marines are olive green robots with a cyclopic orange camera "eye". And the scientists just sit down on the floor shaking their head at you when you shoot them. I think they simply forgot the female assassins, LOL
>shoot 65 year old man 50 times with an mp5 >the first bullet makes him get on his knees, then begin to shake his head side to side >he shows no signs of pain from the rest of the bullets while continuing to shake his head
That's pretty weird when you think about it.
>ahh, it's good to see you >gordon...you... lousy motherfricker get your dork ass down to the test chamber or I'll shove the test sample up your butthole >AND STOP FRICKING WITH THE MICROWAVE
Reject the false competition. Embrace the fact that both can perfectly co-exist. Half Life still holds up great gameplay wise, but Black Mesa definitly did a better job telling its story. It also tickles my autism just right. I would drop everything in a heartbeat if the BMRF was real and I got a job as mallcop there.
Is it shameful that I only bought Half Life for Counter Strike and only played the first level? I mean, we had amazing Warcraft III custom maps and Halo online at the same time.
>I would drop everything in a heartbeat if the BMRF was real and I got a job as mallcop there.
Glad to know I'm not alone in that sentiment. I've replayed the first two chapters of the Blue Shift remake several times just so I could pretend that I worked at Black Mesa.

>1-2 mod where you play a security guard >most the game consists of menial duties >minor puzzles to assist scientists >maintenance work to get in duct crawling >climax is a shootout with a "crazed" scientist trying to stop the experiment >game ends with the resonance cascade
Could be neat
Cool idea. How hard is it to get into hl1 modding? Sounds like a simple enough concept to get used to the engine and modding tools

NTA and i've never done anything with HL modding myself but i guess it's rather easy. there were all kinds of story mods back in the day. be it simple shit where you play some janitor or scientist that has to solve puzzles and shit during the cascade or the big stuff like "they hunger" which had tons of custom textures and sounds. voiced npcs should also be a lesser problem now that AI can take over that shit

Never did GoldSrc but Source Hammer Editor is relatively straightforward once you get past the jank; I imagine they're very similar. A lot of features can be done using Hammer alone which is how most mods are done but anything beyond HL1 features requires modifying the engine.
Always was pain in the ass. Level editor was quite easy to use, but try to add things like, guns, models and new textures and you need to use obscure and obsolete tools, while most of knowledge of those tools has been lost in time.
thanks anons, I guess I would try to keep it simple and only use vanilla assets, maybe changing some textures here and there

Texture, audio, and model changes aren't that difficult, it's just coding that's the real hitch.

It's a 90's vidya gimmick that got carried to the 21st Century. Nothing wrong with that unless you're one of those gays who scream at the screen when gun isn't just like real life.
>YOUR DED FREMEN
Were these actually used by anybody, or were they just made for End of Days?
There were kits for it, so someone definitely used at some point.

JIGGLING BOOB BONES
Still surprised no one's made a mod with female scientists that use the boob bones that the assassins had
I'm surprised nobody made mods with the Japanese Schoolgirl models from Deleted Scenes.

They removed the jiggle physics for the German version, and their nods don't flip up to show their faces on death.
Germany is so lame, the only place worse is Austrailia.
Those robots actually look kind of cool, but its still gay as hell.

Hey thats black mesa blue shift, that train puzzle fricking sucked
>what do you think
>sabotage, maybe?
>fires both shots simultaneously on a single barrel shotgun
heh, nothing personel, kids
They could've easily fix it by saying
>quickly fires 2 shots
Since the spas 12 is also automatic

If you listen to the shotgun sound HL1 it actually does sound like 2 consecutive shots. HL2 is the only game to really mess this up.
