MOLD SCAM

So i had a contractor doing work under my home and tried to tell me
I had mold issues under my house which was preposterous, my home was just built in 2005 so thats not possible. He told me he would remediate the mold for 800$ trying to hit a quick lick on me. I crawled under my house myself to see what he was talking about and this is what i found, fricking dust on my wood. Mold is black, this is obviously just fricking dust.

How do contractors get away with shitting disabled customers? I’m seriously considering pressing charges on him for unnecessary scare tactics and aggressive sales techniques from lying and manipulation.

Do you guys think i would have a strong case?

>pic related
>dust under my home he claimed
Was “mold”

Also how do you guys recommend fixing a dust problem under home?

It's mycelium. The root network of fungus. You owe the contractor an apology and owe yourself a swift kick in the ass

That is not dust. That really is mold. Looks like two possible kinds: common yellow and some literal house eating fungus commonly called Poria. Moar info:
    https://inspectapedia.com/mold/Meruliporia_House_Eating_Fungus.php

Yellow mold can frick with your sinuses, lungs, and eyes. If you really are disabled, this is not something you need to be exposed to. The house eater rots wood. Your support beams will turn into sawdust. Don't frick around with mold.

    >It was built in 2005, mold is not possible
2005 was almost 20 years ago. Yes, mold is possible. Very possible.

    >I don't want to spend $800
Doing it yourself will cost more and be less effective. Also, if something goes wrong you will be paying medical bills. If they frick up you call them back and get it fixed.

By the way, the mold is there because your crawlspace is wet. Get the dampness fixed. You might have a broken pipe somewhere or bad soil drainage. If you don't fix the dampness, the mold will come back. Mold can ear your house. Get that shit fixed.

    >But I'm disabled
We don't give a frick if you are disabled. Lots of us are disabled. It will not get you sympathy here.

By the way, this is a stupid question that should have gone in the stupid questions thread. Use the catalog to find it. Ctrl+F "Stupid questions". Quick link to the one active at time of posting:

in germany we have something similar called housesponge code comform removel involves cutting out the wood at least 1m into healthy wood and putting new wood in its fricking vile.

you cant fix it by removing the dampness because the mycelum can penetrate several meters of brick and concrete and harvest water from under the foundation.

Usually they get installed at a fixed address. Once they're 5 years old it is no longer legal to movie them.

The spores will linger there forever. That spot is permahaunted. Do you even have agricultural land? If so build a new house of local materials; otherwise FRICK settlement, go back to nomadism

n95 couple boards of plywood car crawler rope and spray bottle of bleach multiple application over a month once a week maybe twice
airflow trouble under ground sucks make a chimney high mass or dark in color
the liability associated with useing or reccomending bleach is huge, most trustworthy sources will not mention it but it is great shit

It's easy to extend sprayers by cutting the nozzle tube then using rigid or flex tubing or pipe for a long wand of your choice, and pump sprayers are like 20 bucks online.

I know this isn't serious, but for future reference of anyone reading this; dust doesn't settle on the ceiling. Maybe slightly from static, but not enough to get a real layer going.

This is definitely a bait post. Looks like a tub of icecream and that stone and wood had no moisture barrier. It had over 20 years to rot. I'm suprised whoevers house this is in pic rel hasn't collapsed yet.

that wood is black. i doubt your home was constructed with ebony floor joists.

also, depending on where you live, this is definitely possible. florida? Louisiana?

I think you should first lab confirm its not mold
Sample it, have it tested independently, accept outcome
