The 649 was stainless humpback 357, discontinued some years ago. I'm considering a 640 just because I like the stainless but I might just buy a 340pd if I can get a good price
havnt taken it out yet, honestly these grips dont fit right. they didnt come with the correct screw so i think i might pinch my hand where the grips dont quite close together
I think my dad almost bought one for my mom once, but ended up with one of those M&P EZ in .380 instead. I've never even handled one of the bodyguards in person, but I like the idea of the cylinder release.
The "double-action only" is a skill test. There is a sweet spot right before the hammer drops, and if you have good enough control of your trigger pull you can functionally use it as single action.
A question for snubby enthusiasts, how loud is .38 from a snubby? I kinda want to get a snubby for CC but I struggle to practice effectively with very loud guns (I always double up on earpro and I still struggle with certain guns)
I'm fine with 9mm out of a 5 inch barrel but 3.5-4 inches is unpleasant, so I've looked at other calibers for carry, like .380 and .32 which are a lot more pleasant out of short barrels, but I've never shot revolvers so I don't know how loud they are.
I wear cheap ear muffs from Home Depot that I bought with my chainsaw and I do not notice 38 being distractingly loud. Iam also prior military, flew helicopters, and ride a motorcycle, so my hearing might not be as good as yours.
why do modern revolvers look so fricking ugly? you all genuinely have to have horrendous fricking taste in order to stand the look of these fricking revolvers
i dont give a shit if older revolvers are SA only or less accurate, your revolvers are a fricking eye sore and an abomination that should've been left as the stillborns they are
get a real fricking revolver like pic rel or any antique from the pre-vietnam era
its large, long, has grip that allows it to be pointed and operated naturally, has curves and edges that accentuate its shape, a better feeling trigger, sights that stick out just the right amount, and a lanyard ring
Will AI ever get to the point where it's art doesn't have that creepy uncanny feeling to it? Also to stay on topic, bobbed hammers are the big gay. Either go full DAO or quit being a pussy and have a proper hammer on your gun.
Mmmmyep, they just don’t make um like the Tairus AR series anymore. I could put IOOO rounds of .3B, thirty eight, revolver rimmed bullet, special through it before having to pop off the grip/trigger guard chassis to clean the perspective fouling.
I didn't want to start a new thread just for this, but my mother found her father's old revolver. I don't know much, but looks like a break top S&W, hammerless? He was a WWII vet. His father (my great grandfather) was a Sheriff. I won't be able to check it out for myself for another couple of months unfortunately. Any info is appreciated.
probly a iver johnson safety revolver. uses .32 black powder rounds. even in mint condition they aren't worth much cause E V E R Y O N E had one in their drawer.
>colt
Gross
this is now a J-frame thread
If only they made one in 357

They're around
IMO .357 is only worth it if you can carry at least a 3" gun. Otherwise you're just wasting powder over a .38 +P
they make them in 357.
charter arms kinda makes one in 44spl.
just bought one of these bad larrys
Nice, how's it shoot with that grip?
Shooting 357 in a j frame is like hitting a baseball off the handle with every pull of the trigger.
It's not bad at all, definitely louder but the recoil is controllable and doesn't hurt your hand
havnt taken it out yet, honestly these grips dont fit right. they didnt come with the correct screw so i think i might pinch my hand where the grips dont quite close together
What is a j frame?
zoomer kryptonite
Does anyone actually buy those M&P Bodyguards?
I think my dad almost bought one for my mom once, but ended up with one of those M&P EZ in .380 instead. I've never even handled one of the bodyguards in person, but I like the idea of the cylinder release.
MOGs you by carrying anything that isn’t double action only
I doubt it.
>buys a revolver from a company who made 1911s for 30 year prior, and still can't make a 1911 that runs
NGMI
>and still can't make a 1911 that runs
and yet still puts out a better revolver than Smith and Wesson has made in 30 years.
SAD!
Time for your diaper change grandpa
>snub nose revolver thread IS a grandpa thread
hammerless/bobbed hammer are gay and effeminate looking and are for gays and women
Good thing it's a shrouded hammer and not the things you said.
Colt detective special worth $450? Its a 1960s model. Ive never owned a colt revovler.
As like a safe queen you shoot a few rounds through a year?
Sure, if you thinknits neat.
As a carry gun? No.
Not as a carry gun, just to add to the collection. Its got some holster wear but is nice otherwise. Idk what the value of these are.
Google is free
and you're a homosexual
prissy homosexual kys
I would.
>double action
>only
lol
/k/, what do we call this? I propose:
>LONG action

Revolvers are loud as frick because of the cylinder gap. A snub nose 38 special will be louder than any 9mm.
BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM
GO DEAF GO DEAF
BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM
IM GONNA RELOAD
all pistols are loud anon.
only shotguns are ''quit''.
how you not know this?
I wear cheap ear muffs from Home Depot that I bought with my chainsaw and I do not notice 38 being distractingly loud. Iam also prior military, flew helicopters, and ride a motorcycle, so my hearing might not be as good as yours.
WHAT??!

What revolver is picrel?
reich revolver
This thing is ugly as shit lmao
do you enjoy being objectively wrong?
Elaborate why this gun looks good.
its large, long, has grip that allows it to be pointed and operated naturally, has curves and edges that accentuate its shape, a better feeling trigger, sights that stick out just the right amount, and a lanyard ring
it looks like a banana
all of that shit you just made up in your head. You've never held that gun.
everyone has their own taste anon. only shit on people who like 17hmr.
This piece of shit didn't even have an ejector rod. You had to push them out with a stick.
EDC Revolver thread? EDC Revolver thread. 30 year old boomers and grandpas wake up and join in.
I want more smith and wessons but I do not have money for more smith and wesons, maybe one day
Check out mine. Isn’t she sweet?
Tairus really let their Q&D fall off, huh? There's not even enough finger grooves for my 11 thumbs
>Tairus AR AA IA8
Nice digits. My Tairu5 is perfect
Will AI ever get to the point where it's art doesn't have that creepy uncanny feeling to it? Also to stay on topic, bobbed hammers are the big gay. Either go full DAO or quit being a pussy and have a proper hammer on your gun.
I've pocket carried a 38 snub with a proper hammer with no snag issues. You just need a good pocket holster.
The porn is getting there, its no longer just bimbo bawd giygas
AI pretending to be human is inherently uncanny and creepy so...no
Reminds me of the "All About Survival" YT channel. I'm still convinced that dude doesn't own a single gun.
Mmmmyep, they just don’t make um like the Tairus AR series anymore. I could put IOOO rounds of .3B, thirty eight, revolver rimmed bullet, special through it before having to pop off the grip/trigger guard chassis to clean the perspective fouling.
Frick these weird youtube "gun" channels
>that lil bullet back there? That one'll kill your fursona
ITT: no one knows the difference between hammerless, bobbed hammer, and a shrouded hammer
Anybody know where I can get some Bianchi Lightning Grips? I want a shrouded hammer but don't want to buy a new gun because I already own a J-Frame
Those are cool. Long out of production with no similar product produced since I'm guessing?
Any anons with a detective special?
fitz specials are great range gunz.
How tf do you have one of these? Make it yourself?
it's a smith.
back in the 50's, i think. you could order them like this from colt. but they quit because of liability reasons.
most gunsmiths won't make you a fitz spl.
if you want one you would have to do it yourself.
man in pic started the craze for them.
Where front trigger guard go?
That's a gunfighter's gun boy. a youngin' like you wouldn't understand even if I told you.

Looks like a s&w lemon squeezer in .32 but in that condition i cant say for sure.
probly a iver johnson safety revolver. uses .32 black powder rounds. even in mint condition they aren't worth much cause E V E R Y O N E had one in their drawer.
This. You can see the faint Owl logo on the grip.
>not the same model but is my family heirloom IJ
That's it! Thank you
Thanks
if you're wienering the hammer on a revolver, you need to learn how to shoot
If you need a double action to make quick shots you cant handle a gun sonny
