Merging Dollar Store Led String Lights

I'm working on a little project and I need to merge 2 different color micro led string lights together. They are both powered by 2 AAA battery packs, but I only want to use one. So I was wondering how I would go about doing this? Will I need to use a resistor?

    you can just wire them in parrallel, but no matter what they're going to be much dimmer (or die faster) due to twice as many leds to power.

      Is there a way to maintain the brightness of the led string lights?

        Put the battery packs in series.
        Batteries in series increase voltage, batteries in parallel increase amperage. Voltage carries amps. You can think of it literally. The higher voltage the faster the amps can "get to" the lights.
        Your amps will remain the same but move faster through the wires.
        Having said all of that. The faster the amps move the wires may heat up. I would also put a fuse in line. They are dollar store lights so your idea may not work because the wires may only be able to handle what they were made for.

        You could always just leave them and use one of these. Not sure what kind of project it is.

          It's for a Halloween village I'm trying to spruce up. I would also like to add some type of motion sensor to them

    I = V/R
    V = IR
    R = V/I
