the really early ones were DCU lined. I have some, as well as tan pockets and marpat lined pockets. I'm by no means a collector of the uniforms I wore since I have more than I know what to do with in my seabag but I always liked the DCU ones. They were a vibe.
I'm still looking for some of these as well as the very early woodland boonie covers with the 3" brims. Iirc some desert mccuus had felt lined collars and I know about the elbow/knee pad pockets that were deleted sometime around 2006
>elbow/kneepad pockets
I am not sure why some of tje branches removed those pockets in newer uniforms. I know the army used to have knee/elbow pockets for their UCP uniforms. But not their multicam ones.
Just a cost of manufacturing thing, even though Marines pay full price for their own shit. The openings were just a small ~1.75" folded over part behind the existing reinforcement panels. It always surprised me there was no premium MCCUU you could buy that was authorized, similar to the higher grade Alpha and Bravo uniforms and for that matter chevrons, medals, ribbon racks and other uniform items.

The best branch and elite fighting force in the world. You can all cope.
The best of all digital patterns and quite possibly the ones that will outlive every other because they're entrenched into Marine identity and together they work in literally any climate adequately if not exceptionally. Having two types of camo issued is an excellent boom for OPFOR training and other situations where it's useful to identify different groups. Also gives OICs and SNCOs something to inspect their Marines on, you need to have two sets of woodlands and three sets of deserts serviceable at all times, and sewn on nametapes for each. Keeps those nice asian ladies off base gainfully employed
Marines still have stupid milk man hats.
deserts are superior to woodlands. Deserts with DCU lined pockets are superior to current deserts with MARPAT lined pockets.
Correct deserts are far more comfortable. My deserts pockets were solid tan, I never knew there were DCU ones.

I saw some scorpion ocp's at a surplus store with those pockets maybe they're present on earlier patterns?
